The Brig

Time for another edition of the "Lost" Diary.

So I try and avoid promos and commercials as best I can, but they always find a way to creep in. This week, some people posted on TMZ about a confrontation between Locke and Sawyer. With Locke's dad looming on the island, I have to assume that this could be the week we learn that Locke's dad is the original Sawyer (the man who conned Sawyer's parents, driving his dad to kill his mom, then himself). If that's the case, tonight's episode could be off the charts.

For all you "Lost" Diary newbies, here's how it goes: I gather with a group of friends watching "Lost," writing what happens on the show as it happens, and throwing in my two cents along the way.

This week it's a special East Coast edition of the Diary. I am back in Queens, N.Y. for the week, so I am not with the usual crew. Instead, I am watching with just one other person; my mom. If she says anything about Sawyer along the same lines as Lauren usually does, it would be uncomfortable. Let's roll:
Lost
10:00 -- The "previously on 'Lost'" goes through Locke's history, so I imagine this will be the night we find out what he's been up to since we last saw him.

10:01 -- We're flashing back to eight days ago. I love when "Lost" does an "on island" flashback.

10:02 -- Normally during "Lost," I have no problem typing while a scene is going on. When Locke and Henry Gale are involved, I barely even breathe, much less type. What did Locke's dad mean when he said, "Don't you know where we are?"

10:03 -- "Would you like to come with us?" -- Henry Gale. Can I come too? Is it weird that I want to be Anakin Skywalker to Henry Gale's Chancellor Palpatine? Actually, don't answer that.

10:04 -- We cut back to Kate and Sawyer spooning. Would have thought Kate would have been the little spoon. Oh well.

10:05 -- I bet Lauren even finds Sawyer taking a piss to be sexy.

10:08 -- So Locke has Henry Gale tied up in the forest -- would have thought it was his dad. Actually, I still think it is. I just figure Locke would have had a tough time explaining that one to Sawyer.

10:09 -- "We've been waiting for you." -- Cindy. That rates pretty high on the creepy scale.

10:10 -- So as a gesture that he is ready to be a true Other, Henry Gale wants Locke to kill his father. And why should this take any convincing? I would think Locke would jump at the chance. Oh right, he's not a killer. We shall see.

10:12 -- My mom is actually taunting me with Charlie's presence. She's a loyal reader and more than aware of how much I hate him, but she doesn't have to rub it in.

10:13 -- So Desmond and the crew are keeping parachute lady hidden in a tent on the beach. My mom recognizes her as the chick from "Vegas." Good catch, mom.

10:14 -- Locke is bringing up Sawyer's parents. I feel my prediction is on its way to coming true. I am downright giddy.

10:16 -- Sawyer says he won't kill anyone, Locke says he'll change his mind. Prediction time: since it's pretty obvious Locke has his dad tied up somewhere and not Henry Gale, do you think Sawyer will kill Locke's dad? I go with yes.

10:19 -- Let's welcome Sayid back to the show. All together now, "Hi, Sayid."

10:20 -- Parachute lady is named Naomi. Good to know. Other than that, I don't know what to make of her whole story.

10:23 -- "It's time." -- Henry Gale. Well you just know something cool is about to happen when Henry Gale says that.

10:24 -- "The hesitation that you're feeling is just the part of you that still feels like he has a perfectly good explanation for stealing your kidney, throwing you out of an eight story window." -- Henry Gale. I bow at the feet of Henry Gale.

10:25 -- Locke's dad doesn't think that Locke can kill him. He can't do it, we all know he can't do it. Why doesn't Henry Gale know it?

10:26 -- Man, the Others sure enjoy gathering to watch a man get stabbed on a pillar.

10:27 -- "I'm sorry, he's not who we thought he was." -- Henry Gale. Reminds me of the scene in "The Matrix" before we found out Neo was the one. I guess that makes Henry Gale our Morpheus.

10:28 -- "It's an old slaving shape, mid 19th-century." -- Locke. Is there anything he doesn't know?

10:29 -- Yup, Locke's dad is the one tied up. Things should really start to get interesting.

10:33 -- OK, seriously, Naomi's "satellite phone" is really just the iPhone. I didn't check the credits closely, did Steve Jobs produce this episode?

10:34 -- If Locke weren't harboring a couple of hostages, I would hope that he would have asked Rousseau what she wanted with all that dynamite. I am pretty sure a crazy French woman should never be given a whole crate of explosives.

10:35 -- So Alpert gave Sawyer's file to Locke so that he could figure out Sawyer's connection to his dad. Great move.

10:37 -- "If there were any bullets in that gun, why would you hold a knife to my throat?" -- Locke. That right there is what makes him John Locke.

10:38 -- So, apparently, the Others staged a car accident so they could get Locke's dad onto the island -- or at least that's how it sounded. Interesting note: Locke's dad referred to Locke as his "dead son." This probably confirms Naomi's story about Oceanic Flight 815 being "found" and everyone aboard being "dead."

10:40 -- "If this isn't hell, friend, then where are we?" -- Locke's dad.

10:41 -- "A con man goes by many names, friend. I've been Alan Seward, Anthony Cooper, Ted Maclaren, Tom Sawyer ..." -- Locke's dad. God this is getting good.

10:42 -- "Sawyer's my name too." -- Sawyer. Just a great scene all around. Very possibly the best scene not involving Locke or Henry Gale this season.

10:45 -- "Don't tell me what I can't do, John." -- Henry Gale. Locke's favorite line, thrown back at him.

10:46 -- "Unless you're carrying your father's body on your back, don't bother." -- Henry Gale.

10:47 -- Wait a sec, you're telling me Sawyer still has that letter on him? Come on.

10:50 -- "You wanna go to hell?" -- Sawyer. Great line to say as you're strangling a guy with a chain.

10:51 -- "Thank you." -- Locke. So Locke didn't actually kill his dad, but he might as well have. Not sure how this makes him feel any better about it.

10:54 -- "Anything you can say to me, you can say in front of her." -- Jack. What a tool. My mom had a better description: "A**hole."

10:56 -- "We should tell her." -- Juliet. Well, I guess that confirms that Jack is working with Juliet somehow. But tell her what exactly? Something is up here. They are definitely double-crossing Henry Gale somehow.

10:57 -- Locke is giving Sawyer Henry Gale's tape recorder so he can go back and warn the camp that the Others are coming soon. Seems like Juliet and Jack might be on verge of warning them anyway.

10:58 -- "I'm on my own journey now." -- Locke.

10:59 -- Remember when Henry Gale said, "Unless you're carrying your father's body on your back, don't bother"? Guess Locke is taking that literally.

I can often judge an episode by how many quotes I write down. I am a huge fan of dialog -- Aaron Sorkin and David Mamet being the masters. When Locke and Henry Gale are prominent in an episode, I know I am going to get some great scenes. You can just tell the writers of the show love writing for those two characters.

I am giving this episode a B+. I really enjoyed seeing how Locke had spent his time with the Others. The performances and writing were top notch and there were at least three scenes that had me holding my breath. No startling revelations (we all saw the Sawyer/Locke's dad thing coming) and no killer ending is what kept it from getting an A.

A couple of leftover, random thoughts before I finish. What did Henry Gale mean when he kept saying that Locke was the one that brought his dad to the island? Will the island take revenge on Sawyer for killing someone? A meeting with the black smoke monster, perhaps?

Before I get to this week's question, I owe you guys my answer to last week's. "The Wire" is my favorite show on television and is probably the best show of all-time. If you don't watch it, and if you trust me on the matters of television at all, you'll rent season one when you have a chance. Nothing else compares.

On to our question for this week: As a fan of shows like "The Shield," I have no problem when good guys do bad things. Locke's dad was a shitty guy who ruined Sawyer's life. I am perfectly okay with Sawyer killing him. Are you? See you next week.

Daniel--Your mom sounds fun like you!! I hope Sawyer doesn't have a date with Old Smokey--Juliet has killed and she's been safe for awhile...I find the Richard character really interesting...unless Ben sent him up with Sawyer's file. Will Locke just lie and say he killed his dad himself? The Others seem to know everything anyway--would they even believe him? Yikes! Can't wait to see how it all plays out--love your column! See ya next week.

I think it was great that Sawyer finally killed Sawyer and Locke finally repaid his dad for all the wonderful things he did. However, i think it will have some serious repercussions for Sawyer. We already saw that it made him physically ill. But Sawyer has been the Indigo Montoya of Lost. He's been in the revenge business his whole life, now that it's over, he's going to have a large void in his life. (Perhaps he'll be the next Dread Pirate Roberts?)
I think this will be very liberating for Locke.. He's finally done with his father and he gets to learn about his precious island. And, well, he didn't physically hurt anyone, so he won't have that on his conscience like Sawyer will.

Overall, I liked this episode.. Even though it was 100% predictable, which I usually don't like, and Charlie still didn't die, I'm so glad Sawyer finally met Sawyer.

Loved this episode, the whole island being hell because Locke's dad said it is, is really freaking me out. What the hell is up with that? I need to know how/why everyone thinks the plane was found and everyone is dead! It had to be staged.

Oh, and Jack can totally never be trusted anymore. Why did Kate go and snitch to him? Is it because she wanted to point out that no one likes him anymore? That he's changed?
Man, Kate's such a jerk for being a rat and NEVER being able to keep a secret.

Yeah, I am perfectly okay with Sawyer killing Locke's dad. Just like I was perfectly okay with Ethan dying and with Colleen being shot by Sun. I don't think there will be any repercussions to Sawyer..BUT if Locke was the one who was supposed to do it and since he didn't the specialness or whatever Benry says about him won't come to fruition now. Think about that one!

Okay, now I have to rent season 1 of the wire. I forgot to mention last week that Rescue Me and nip/tuck are also damn good shows.

Ok. First... TOTALLY fine with Sawyer killing Locke's dad. I am all for that. Second... and this may have been covered before... Why does everyone on this show have Daddy issues? Locke, Sun, Jin (kinda), Claire, Walt, Kate, Jack, Hugo... What gives?

I am sooooooo OK with Sawyer killing Locke's dad. I cannpt believe he just tore theletter up right in front of him...burn!!!Anyway, considering I was sidetracked throughout most of the episode, I missed alot which means I have to rewatch most of it this afternoon...but has anybody realized yet that Naomi is also from The Haunted Mansion??? Two more episodes to go, right?

I'm not sure how I feel about Sawyer killing Cooper. In a way I wish he hadn't because it would have proven that he has "changed" or he was redeemed and didn't really have it in him to be "bad." But on the other hand, he deserved the revenge. Especially after Cooper tore up the letter. That was just cold-blooded and evil.
And please, can we give it up for Josh Holloway? I thought his acting was superb last night. Just really a gut-wrenching performance.

And also: Kate making a big deal about Jack not being able to be trusted? Yeah. All that accomplished was proving that KATE cannot be trusted. She was just trying to "hurt" him because he hurt her. It was stupid and I truly can't get over how pathetic her character is.

The second I saw Locke lift his dead dad over his shoulders it came to me that when he "presents" said dead dad before Henry Gale, that he will be alive (remember the resent resurrection of Mikhail?).

The task was to kill his father, which technically he did not do. And, why else would Henry insist he not return unless his "DEAD father" is on his back?

any thoughts on this?

First time commenting here..Absolutely love your diary! Look forward to it every thursday. I am totally okay with Sawyer killing Locke's dad. I'm glad he did it.

On another note, I can see any girl sleeping with Sawyer having to be the Big Spoon. He seems a little selfish..

Is it just me, or does anyone else want to take a shit on Jack's forehead?

I thoroughly enjoyed the Sawyer-Sawyer scene, and was glad that Sawyer killed him...especially, after he was being so smug while reading that letter, and then actually tore the letter up! Hell, I wanted to kill him myself!

I don't know about anyone else, but when Juliette kept saying "Maybe we should tell her," this was after Kate blabbed about Naomi and the phone...is this something they need to tell have something to do with Naomi??? Or the phone, since Jack seemed to be focused so much on the phone??? Also, did everyone catch Ben saying that the Others would be going to the Losties camp in 3 days to grab the pregnant women?

I was glad Ben brought up the "magic box" again...I hadn't forgotten about that! But, the magic box is "metaphoric" instead of "literal," so do you bring your demons with you to the island? Could be why Jack kept seeing his dad running around before, or Echo his brother. Next week we should get some more answers on how Dharma came to be on the island! YAY!!!!

okay, so i think the piece of information that jack and juliet share that juliet tried to encourage jack to reveal to kate was that there could be no rescue because a satellite phone won't work on the island. i don't think jack has any clue that the others are dropping in in a week.

I am not sure what to think about Sawyer Killing "Tom Sawyer". I think that killing him will mess with Sawyers mind. But my real issue is Locke. Having Sawyer do his dirty work seemed out of the norm.
The thing that is bugging me the most is the way the others think Locke is so special because he healed on the island so did Rose. Did Rose have cancer? I think Henry would be more interested in that since he had the tumor.

Great epsode . I give it an A. So are they in hell? I dont think so. I dont want it to be Hell. I thought it was odd that Benry wanted Locke to kill his Dad, and even weirder that he gathered up the whole crew, even the kids to watch. He knew that he wouldnt do it. I am OK with Sawyer killing Locke's Dad. Lets face it, the guy is the Devil. So what is up with Jack and Juliet? Jack is clearly a different person since he has been back. And so trusting of his new woman. So what are we missing? And what were they talking about, should we tell her? Tell her what?? And what about the airplane that was found in the ocean with all of the losties bodies in it???? Did Benry set that up? Is he that good? Hmmmmm... And please can you throw us a bone for Rose and Bernard?? Its been a long time since we have seen them. I love this show and I love this website!!! I slo mo the previews and noticed that they were showing the Dharma's back in the 70's. They flashed on a long haired gut that OI belieive is Richard. The guy that gave Locke the file on Sawyer. Could it be the secret to Island is that no one ages? He looked the same as he does now except for he has short hair now. You cant mistake those eyebrows. So for those of you that tape or Tbo, Watch the previews in slow motion, frame by frame and give me your take.Sorry this is so long!

You're not the only one Rich. Also, Kate would be much improved by duct tape across the mouth... :3

Naomi revealed that the plane wasn't actually seen - someone took video tape of it. I'm sure that was totally manufactured.

I don't think they're actually in some form of limbo, as Locke's dad suggests. That Richard guy seems to be able to travel back and forth to the "real world" so he can't be dead. But it is interesting that most of them seem to have been brought to the island through some violent accident (car/helicopter crash...).

I wasn't surprised by Sawyer's acitons, but I don't know if I'm okay with it. I don't like Locke using him to do his dirty work.

The first thing I thought when Locke threw his dad on his back was, he's not really dead, just like Mikhail was not really dead.

Also, I can't believe I didn't think, uh what's Rousseau going to do with a box of dynamite? Thanks for reminding us about that!

What about when Locke's dad called Ben "bugeye"? That was hilarious!

Daniel, if you don't already get paid to be a TV critic, you should be. Let me commend you on your most excellent taste. I too love The Wire.(Snoop is extreme-she's just hardcore and I love her!)
Anywho, This week's lost episode was good, but predictable. Here's my take on it:
I don't like the idea of Locke being such a wuss that he got Sayid to do his dirty work, and I don't like that Sawyer fell into the trap hook, line and sinker. Somebody just slap the hell out of Kate. She and Jack deserve each other.
At this point, Sayid and Desmond are the only ones who are thinking rationally.
So Locke is special....the others have been waiting for him. Once again, where is Rose? If Locke is special because the island healed him, shouldn't Rose be special too? (Like Mother Abigail in The Stand, you Stephen King fans know who I'm talking about)
Nothing seems to ruffle Juliette's feathers,I just don't like her. I don't care if she's a double agent.I think Sun is on to her though.
Gosh that Benry! He just commands your attention and keeps you glued to the screen!
Locke's father sure is one evil, heartless dude. I don't think they're in hell, because if they were, Locke's dad would surely be Satan!
Anyway, this episode did leave me hungry for next week's.

About my post. I meant to say Locke got Sawyer to do his dirty work. Also, I forgot to mention-Rousseau and the dynamite. What's up with that? Is she planning an Alex rescue? Just a thought.

found this on another site,,tell me what you all think??????

This may be obvious to some already, but within about 5 minutes of watching tonight's episode of LOST I suddenly had a revelation of what is really going on. All the pieces seemed to fall into place--and as the show continued, they verified my thoughts.

Basically, it appears that everyone on the Island are not really on an Island, but some sort of parallel existence that represents a form of purgatory or plane between Heaven and Hell.

They have all died in real life, which explains why all these bizarre crashes and shipwrecks showed up on this one Island. The people probably died in those incidents and ended up in the Island "Afterlife". The air balloon, Flight 815, Desmond wrecking on the reef, the drug-smuggling plane, the slave ship, the science crew/ship. And the lady whose helicopter was crashing-showed up on the same Island. Seemed a bit odd in real life all these victims of catastrophes would end up on this one Island-except they actually died and ended up here in some bizarre form of Afterlife.

And that would explain why all the children were taken on the first night on the Island-by the Others. Children are assumed innocent, and closest to God and therefore would be taken immediately to Heaven. Also-the stillborns would be the most innocent which may be why pregnant women kept having their babies die on the Island. Why have a baby exist in a purgatory state of existence, if they aren't born in the real world--rather they would just go straight to Heaven which could be why they died so quickly.

And it's starting to look like Ben (whose name is somewhat similar to a short form of Beazzlebub) is the Devil or some representative therefore, trying to tempt people on the Island to make the wrong choices that would prevent them from moving on eventually to Heaven. He is recruiting for Hell, and therefore conned Locke into making the wrong decision and having Sawyer murder another person in order for them both to possibly lose their souls to Ben and Hell. It's obvious he's threatened by Locke who has this magical healing power--and is trying to prevent him from being able to move onto Heaven.

The Island seems to be some sort of purgatory; where everyone is being forced to confront their sins, their mistakes, their conflicts, their regrets etc. And they are being tested and challenged-possibly as a manner to determine their ultimate destiny in Heaven or Hell. When "Ben" asks Locke if he's SURE he really wants to go through that certain door in the teaser for next week's episode, it implies that he has tricked Locke into thinking it's a good place to go (he's already been responsible for the murder of his Father) but the door really leads to Hell. Apparently Ben's purpose is to tempt people away from Heaven and back to Hell with him.

The Island appears to be some Afterlife existence halfway between Heaven and Hell. It has the magical healing properties of Heaven--everyone is miraculously healed of everything from paralysis to cancer, and where else would that sort of life-affirming healing come from but Heaven?

And yet Ben who BY THE WAY is the ONLY person on that Island who was actually BORN THERE is also the only person who can't heal like the others. His healing is not happening in the same manner or as quickly, if at all. This seemed very much to clearly indicate that Ben is the original inhabitant of this purgatory existence much like the Devil inhabits Hell. And if Ben is the Devil or some derivative thereof, then of course it makes sense he cannot benefit from the healing properties which come from Heaven. He is the original inhabitant of the Hell-like qualities of the Island purgatory, and therefore is not allowed to experience the healing Heaven-like benefits. Much like the Archangel was thrown from Heaven to inhabit Hell.

It all makes sense now in light of this new theory. The only thing I can't figure out in this context is why if everyone is already dead, (and they verified that a few moments after I figured it out when she told them the plane and ALL bodies had already been discovered in an ocean trench)---how can they die a second time on the Island? The two girls who were shot--the two that were buried alive--the others who died on the Island purgatory, I don't understand how that can happen if they were already dead and waiting for their ultimate destination in Heaven or Hell. I guess they went to either one at that point.

LOST is starting to look a lot more like "The Five People You Meet In Heaven". And maybe the number 42 isn't just coincidence as being "The Answer To The Universe" as it was used in "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" novel and movie. I thought 42 was rather a unique number to use as the Mega--and it probably is meant literally again as THE ANSWER TO THE UNIVERSE if Lost Island is indeed an Afterlife situated halfway between Heaven and Hell.

I was amazed--I came to these conclusions within 5 minutes of watching the show tonight, and then the rest of the episode just continued on verifying more and more clearly all these ideas that flooded my head. Apparently they are giving us a lot more answers, and advancing the plot very rapidly. Now, knowing this drastic new direction the answers are taking us in--could there really be an entire 4th Season? How long can they carry this out now that we know they are all really dead and living in a transitional Afterlife of some kind?

Also-the fact that the Island isn't physically real, and the coordinates of Penelope's Scientists were in the middle of the ocean further verifies that they are in a parallel universe. The Island didn't appear for the parachute girl until she was already crashing in her helicopter and dying.

And remember when Michael and Walt were told to leave the Island and "GO HOME", using the coordinates 312 degrees as the ONLY way to escape the Island. This would imply they never really went home, not in the traditional sense of their former physical lives. They went "home" to Heaven, and apparently 'went toward the light' as the 312 degree bearing was the only way to escape the Island Purgatory and be allowed into Heaven. They were already dead, and this was the only way to get to Heaven and off the Island.

Which makes one wonder how the Scientists could get coordinates in the first place of something non-physical, but the fact that the Island also happens to have this mysterious life-giving electromagnetic force that is the existence and creation of all life further verifies the Heaven link. There is a tie to Heaven in this Island, as where else would the life force and creation of the Universe be from? Also explains why time and space were drastically altered when the numbers were allowed to run out, because it had something to do with messing with the Heavenly Life Force and Creation aspect of their Island Purgatory.

Perhaps the button pressing was a test of Faith. Lost Island is apparently a Pre-Heaven or Pre-Hell existence where people are tested and determined where they should end up. But I also don't get why Others have been living there many years in a housing development, and how does the entire Dharma Initiative link up to all of this. Apparently the dark-haired guy who recruited Julliette is some sort of Angel, as were Ethane and others who could move easily between the real Earth life and this Afterlife. But they aren't all good Angels apparently as Ethane represented. Some of them probably work for the Dark Side--and Ben. Perhaps all of them.

I am amazed at how they are revealing all of this so abruptly tonight and somewhat in prior episodes. Locke's Father apparently had died, and been brought to the Island Purgatory to pay for his sins to his Son. He thought he was already in Hell-but I think Lost Island is simply a jumping off point to either Heaven or Hell existence. Becoming rather an existential show.

This all fascinates me, and I was surprised how easily all the pieces fell into place tonight once I realized what was really going on. Lots of unanswered questions still, like the numbers--the Dharma Initiative, etc. They need to spend more time answering older questions instead of just revving us through these drastic new developments.

By the way-the reason the Satellite Phone was working, but had no audible channels was further proof they are not in an Earthly physical plane anymore. They can't communicate with the outside world because they aren't in it anymore. They are "LOST" somewhere between Heaven and Hell.

I think Locke is named Locke symbolically, because something about him and his miraculous healing properties is the "KEY" to the Island. But Locke has just been recruited to the Dark Side. Maybe he is somehow symbolic of a Christ-Like figure who is being tempted by the Devil?

And maybe the emphasis on the Others stealing young male children, was some sort of need or reference to a Christ-Like figure.

Thanks for listening! Welcome any thoughts or ideas.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a couple questions following the post I just put up from another site....

What about Juliett? She had to swallow a drink which put her out to get to wherever they were taking her,,everybody on that Island have done something bad what about her?

I was thinking that Ben is the devil as well and tempting the rest of the group.

if they are already dead then how could they be killed over again?

How would Lock have brought his dad there to the Island?

boy this is getting good!

Tracy - Interesting theory, but Lost's creators have already said that the characters are not in purgatory. Daniel - I am glad that someone finally mentioned on TMZ that your blog was here! Now I won't have to look at Britney Spears a dozen times a day while I wait for your update. As for your question, no, I am not OK with Sawyer killing Cooper - and I don't think Sawyer is either. I would have preferred to have Cooper suffer more, then get killed by Smokey. I am hoping that Cooper will pull a Patchy and revive - then Sawyer can really move past his need for revenge, and we can watch Cooper get his just desserts.

Tracy: That all makes sense, and really it's a good theory...although I'm guessing that many Lost fans (myself included) would be a little bit disappointed if the Heaven/Purgatory/Hell theory turns out to be true. It's too neat, it's too obvious, and it doesn't leave anything open-ended. With that said, the mysterious "Jacob" ties into the idea of the island as a biblical/religious parallel, especially considering that women on the island cannot maintain a pregnancy, much like the biblical Jacob's wife, Rachel.

In any event--and maybe I'm only speaking for myself here--I hope that there are still a few loose ends when the series concludes. I'd like to fill in some answers for myself.

Daniel! I'm so glad I found you! I spent all day yesterday worrying that "something must've happened to him because he never fails to post his Lost Diary on Thursday!"

To answer your question, I'm just not sure yet if it's okay that Sawyer killed Cooper...I was glad at first because I felt that Sawyer deserved to kill the guy for all the pain he had caused him and that it was somehow his "destiny" to one day find the real Sawyer and kill him. However, I am now worried for both Sawyer and Locke because this could mean that they will both be punished for whatever reason....hmmm...

Thanks again for making my Lost experience even better...see you here next Thursday!

Whoa, Daniel, I thought I "LOST" you!

I am OK with Sawyer killing Locke's dad, however, I thought it was pretty cowardly of Locke. I get the whole "I'm not a murderer" thing, but, in the same situation, I think I could have found it in myself to stab him. I hope that Sawyer can find some peace now that he has fulfilled his life goal and his character can go back to being the awesome comic relief that is has become in recent weeks. And, yes, Josh Holloway is more than just a pretty face (etc.). Great acting.

To Tracy: It's a theory...but one I hope will not turn out to be true. In my gut, I don't think it will.

C-YA next week!

Although I would like to take credit for the post above,,I myself did not post that I copied and pasted from another site I found. It was an interesting read/theory so thought I would post it here on Daniel's site. BTW Daniel I am so glad we found you, we thought you were "LOST!" to say the least! I love reading all the theories here the only one I have thought about was bug eyed Ben possibly being the devil. Although I don't believe in purgatory myself and this is just plain fiction it's still interesting. I love reading everyones theories so if your out there please post!!!!! Thanks Daniel!!!

i am starting to believe the whole purgatory thing. The list is of only people who are allowed to go home(heaven). That's why they always come for the kids first. Those not on the list must face there inner demons first before they can get on the list. lock & walt played Bacgammon in the first season, jack found a black, and a white shiny rock in the pocket of the deadbody in the cave, that game is old, all about dark force & white force. I think what julliette & jack said to tell her is that they are lost souls. The others are in between, both workin for the dark & white.

only 2 times i have cried in the 3 years watching LOST.. 1 - when locke gave his kidney 2 - wednesday when i saw the pain the anguish on james face when he was asking cooper to read his letter ....
i dont think they are in hell or purgatory ...
i think its all an experiment ... not unlike the movie VANILLA SKY
what do you guys think,,, ????????
btw. been looking for you Daniel sooooo happy to have found you !!!!

Wow- Daniel, I found you!!

(thanks for posting the link on TMZ guys!!)

I was going crazy trying to get the update.

Locke killed his father, yes, he did use Sawyer, but at the end, he did it. Almost like Sawyer was the poison, but Locke gave it to his dad. They both did. I think that Locke's dad 'came' to the island, so he would pay for his bad deeds. What an evil dude.

Sawyer was great.

I missed Sayid, he is one of my favorite characters (as well as Locke, "bugeyed," Hurley, Desmond-brotha'and SAWYER. Smokey can come and get the rest).

Kate is such a bitch, she and Juliette need to have another fight - fight to the death. The winner should fight the 'good doctor.'

Where is Rose??? Where is Michael and his son??? How come the island does not show up on the coordinates, but you only see it when you are about to crash/die?

I loved the episode, but I think Locke's dad could have had a worst death. Choked by Sawyer w/a chain, come on!!

See you next week!!

did you catch how locke's dad called henry gale "bug-eye"??????!!!!!

OK - If they are in Limbo,Purgatory or Hell - it's pretty cheesey that Satan has monitor screens of what's up on earth. Or possibly Heaven. Could Julliet's sister really be dead & was playing with her dead daughter?! Sorry but even on LOST that seem's like a stretch. Plus if Benry is AKA Satan, why would a little tumor scare him so much & have them go thru so much to have Jack operate on him. And why would Benny boy be so perplexed about his not healing quickly!! Next Why would Julliet be in Hell? In her back story she seemed to be such an innocent. If just wishing your ex husband dead was sin enough to land you in Hell - then we are all pretty much F*#@+d!! New subject - If a major airline couldn't find any hint of one of it's planes after a crash they would also be pretty much screwed!! C'mon who dosent believe a corp. wouldn't think twice about staging a fake crash site?! Next - didn't Penelope get coordinates or something about Des's location? With her money she could totally afford a world wide search for her man! And last but not least - Sawyer so had the right to Killl Locke's dirt bag dad!!! I only wish he had made him hurt more!!! What does that say about me?

Jessica loved your post especially the ending..ha ha! You made some great points and once again something more to think about!!

I have said all along that I am going to be sorely disappointed if this turns out to be a "they're all dead, they're in purgatory" kind of story, since we were told from the beginning that that would not be the case. But, as the show progresses, that looks exactly like where this is headed...except for the questions already asked above (like, if they're already dead, how can they be killed again on the island?).

My main question would be if they are in purgatory, how is it that Richard and Ethan were able to go to Miami to recruit Juliette? That would also seem contrary to the idea of purgatory because Richard and Ethan would also have had to be dead, too.

And I would still have to go back to the day the hatch exploded, to the two men sitting in a station getting coordinates and calling Penny. Would they have been able to see that on their screen if the island were, in fact, in a parallel dimension? So many questions still left unanswered.

Hopefully, we will learn some answers this week because the previews suggested we would learn a lot more about Dharma!

Okay, first of all, I want to apologize to Daniel for this post because I know you don't want to hear the previews...but I had to share this in case Lost fans hadn't heard yet.

I just read in Entertainment Weekly that we find out who Jacob is this week (May 9).

!!!!

I can barely contain my excitement.

Love this blog. My first time actually commenting. Question, When Juliette brought Sun to the nursery "where the women go to die" why is it set like a nursery with a crib and baby things. If no baby can be born on the island then they don't need cribs and such? Anyone?

I can't wait for tomorrow.

To be honest im pretty sure that sawyers letter would be completly unreadable, he probably had it with him on the raft?
