A Vicodin Vacation

So I'm back on painkillers. Let me explain.

I was playing softball Tuesday night and I went to catch a fairly routine relay throw to third. I moved to my left and POP!!! -- felt like someone shot me in the back of the leg.

Seems like it is just a pulled muscle and not a tear (thank God). I still have a massive limp, but the pain has subsided (thank Vicodin).

Point is I spent the last few days with an ice pack on my leg and didn't get to "Lost" this week. We've still got three months til season 4 (YIKES!!!) so taking a week off here or there isn't a bad thing.

So let's call this week a wash and pick up next week -- Diary on Wednesday, LDQA to be determined. I haven't begged for questions yet, so here goes: Click here to send me a question! Once again, I will answer any and all questions.

A few quick notes:

-- Finally caught up on "Damages." Wow, amazing finale. Highly recommend it on DVD, when it comes out.

-- All caught up on "Pushing Daisies" and I am still loving it.

-- "Chuck" keeps getting better, doesn't it? Nothing amazing, but a good, fun hour of TV every week.

-- Didn't see last night's show yet, but I'll still make this claim: "30 Rock" is the funniest show on TV.

I take it you're only doing season 1 recaps? I assumed during the break that you would be doing seasons 1 & 2. At the current pace it won't happen. Guess I was wrong.

I've debated about this for awhile. I started doing the recaps about halfway through season 2, so doing season 1 felt like the best way to kill the "off-season." I thought I went back and posted the season 2 Diaries that I wrote for TMZ, but not on thelostidiary.com, but now it looks like I didn't. So now I have to find them on my old computer.

Also, I was thinking waiting til next summer to re-visit season 2, this way we have something to do then. I don't know, maybe I'll put the whole thing to a vote.

-- Daniel

Tater, that sounded awfully petulant. Hey, this is supposed to be fun, not a whinefestival. Although disappointed I can't use this as an excuse to avoid work today, I also understand the issue. One thought -- do we really want Daniel to start season 2 then have it interrupted by season 4? Look how long it's taken to get through the first season and that's not because Daniel is slacking.

Great minds, Daniel

Damages packed a lot into an hour long finale. I hope it comes back for another season.

I thought there would be time for season 2 with the recaps - too bad there won't be. I'll have to make up Daniel commentary as I rewatch it.

Fell better!

Daniel, hope you feel better soon. The only thing we're caught up on at our house is "The War" on PBS. Incredible! Do your recaps at your own pace and we will support you.

That doesn't sound like fun. Feel better soon! And I also agree that the Season 2 recaps shouldn't start until next summer.

30 rock is pretty solid, but i'd have to say It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is the funniest show on TV since Arrested Development

How do you feel about Reaper? I find it hilarious!

Take your time and rest up Daniel, we want you to be 100% for when S4 starts.

Besides, the Nip/Tuck season premiere was still sizzling in my Tivo, I had no time to watch Lost. Blasphemous, I know!

I watched the premier of Nip/Tuck on Tuesday - great as usual and I too finally watched my tivoed Pushing Daisies and I really like it.
Don't worry about recaps Daniel. Personally I think everyone who loves Lost as much as we all do have already rewatched seasons 1-3 again and finally just need season 4! 3 more months to go...... I hope the writer's strike doesn't affect the scheduled start of Lost or I will go completely out of my mind! Get better soon!

A vicodin vacation! What will be next, Daniel? A vodka getaway? A valium holiday?

Feel better :)

3 MONTHS TO GO!!!!! It's like being pregnant and it's the last trimester. You know, the really uncomfortable, anxious, hurry-the-hell-up time...

Mmmmm, Vicodin. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I dispute your claim that 30 Rock is the funniest show on television only because the Office is in existence. Sorry, but my loyalties lie with JAM.
