The Moment
You see, for the last month or so I have been insanely busy with work. I have had my schedule changed twice in the last few weeks. Worked holidays, weekends. Found out I had to move. Looked for a place. Found a place. Blah.
My lack of motivation was clearly evident.
Then it happened.
I was in a bar in NYC last Thursday with friends from home. People I only get to see twice a year, if I'm lucky. Friends I've had since grade school. I don't know what Roy was saying at the time, but the sports bar we were at, with its several TVs, was suddenly showing that same "Lost" commercial.
I shushed him immediately (I think I even held up a hand). I watched the commercial -- again the SAME ONE I'D ALREDY SEEN -- like I was watching a list of crash survivors and looking for the names of my loved ones. When it was done, I don't even remember what I said.
That was it. I was back.
"Lost" is roughly 5 weeks away. I never thought we had the time to finish season two anyway, so let's forget that. We'll save that for next summer. Beginning tomorrow, I am going to count down my 10 favorite shows on TV -- one a day for the next two weeks. We'll fill the other three weeks somehow.
Sorry I was gone, but I'm ready now.

Glad you are alive and well! Glad you are back here too! I felt the same way when I saw the commercial. I was right back to shushing the kids so I could see if I missed a clue! Can't wait till Jan. 31st! Merry Christmas!

I had the same moment and the feelings were overwhelming. I can't wait for Jan. 31, one hell of a way to celebrate my birthday!

Welcome back Daniel. We missed you. I love the trailers. I've seen at least 2 different ones, if not three.
BUT the big clue I found on the last one (Thank you DVR) if you go frame by frame near the end with the quick flashing images...the very last frame was....get this...Charlie! His hair was shorter without the blondness, he removed his sunglasses and was smirking. Now this may be a flashback and they are teasing us...but it looks as though Charlie may not be out for good! Sorry Daniel, I didn't mean to spoil your Christmas, lol.
Can't wait for Lost to start up again...Just really angry they weren't able to give us the full season like they wanted to. But I won't complain about getting 2 months worth, especially when there is NOTHING else on. My word, may the strike end soon!!

5 weeks! Wow I didn't even realize that. You just made my day. I am glad you are back and everything is well, Daniel! I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I found myself on 2 occasions scoffing at relatives of mine who don't watch Lost but SHOULD because they would totally love it!

Hey Daniel,
Missed you...Funny, a roomful of us had "the moment" last night at the Christmas dinner party. The tv was on, everyone talking loudly, then the "Lost" promo comes on, and the room falls silent. Fade to black, a mouth or two are agape, and my father yells, "It's coming back!!" Thank god!

My husband and I were in Italy for our honeymoon last July and fell in love with Italian MTV. We came across a video for a song called "Torno Subito" by Max Pezzali and being the dieheard LOST fans that we are, we freaked out. Here is a link to the video - I would love the hear your thoughts.

We had the moment at my New Year's Eve party! We were all having cocktails, and talking amongst ourselves, and a hush came over everyone when the "same one I've seen before" Lost commercial came on. We had to shush the 2 or 3 people who aren't Losties. We actually had to rewind the DVR and watch again. I'm excited!

I had a simialr experience when I saw the commercial for the first time. I am looking forward to the 31st. LOST IS BACK!!!!! Moving sucks! Which do you think is worse packing or unpacking? I think unpacking.
