Top Ten Shows on Television -- #7

7. 30 Rock

I told myself before I did this list that I wasn't putting any comedies on it. Since "Arrested Development" went off the air, I just feel comedies have fallen off creatively -- remember when "Entourage" and "Curb" were consistently funny? Those were the days.

Then came "30 Rock." Look, I know "The Office" is the show people are supposed to say is the funniest -- but it's not true. In fact, it's not even close. Not since "Arrested Development" has a show been so funny and so completely out of left field. I present to you the following two lines from this season:

"Never go with a hippie to a second location." -- Jack
"You know I never judge race! Remember when I asked that black man if he saw Sideways?" -- Liz

'Nuff said.

Hands down, the funniest show on t.v. (and I also love The Office, but it doesn't come close). Alec Baldwin has some of the funniest lines ever. And Kenneth the NBC Page? The bomb!

yeah, the BBC version of the Office is loads better. it also had the foresight to end the show after just two seasons.

30 Rock is pretty funny. It keeps getting better. Arrested Development is HILARIOUS!! If anyone hasn't seen it you have to get the DVDS. I could watch them over and over.

I started watching 30 Rock this season and I love it. The Office is not as good this season - I hope it improves. And I agree, the British Office was fantastic!

30 Rock is definitely awesome. Here in the UK we watched the episode when Jack meets his ex-wife. Hilarious stuff. Kenneth is my favourite. I just want to meet someone that optimistic!

I saw the guy who plays Kenneth in an improv group in NYC (UCB Theater) a couple years before 30 Rock came on the air. He was so freakin funny. And everyone, the whole cast of 30 Rock, is just pitch perfect in their parts. I haven't missed an episode. Jack McGonneghy is literally the funniest character on television. I never buy DVDs of TV shows, normally, but this show is so good that whenever the DVDs come out, I'm buying them for myself and anyone else I can think of. Its that funny!

30 Rock is out on DVD now. I've been catching up on the first season. The episode where Alec Baldwin's character dates Condeleeza Rice was a riot!

I have never seen 30 Rock, but after reading all of these glorious reviews I just might have to!

Daniel, when will you be posting Show #6?

Yeh, I'm gonna go ahead and have to "disagree" with you there...

The Office can be inconsistent, but anytime Carell is on the screen it's the best comedy on TV.

To fill time in between Daniel's posting to the list, does anyone want to predict what other shows will be on his list? Or what shows should be on the list?

Daniel, when will you be posting Show #6?

Daniel, it's now been 13 days since your last post.... what's going on? Why do you keep desserting us all like this?

You have 6 shows to post in the next 9 days before the LOST premiere.... get with it!

Daniel,
Changing the subject but all I have to say is - 'DEXTER'. If you haven't seen it, life is colorless. On Showtime - Session two is On Demand right now.
Can't wait for Jan 31st!!!!

Daniel, why are you posting so infrequently?

Come back Daniel, been forever for your last post and we need them to help us wait for the big show next week!

The following was posted yesterday on OrlandoSentinel.com

ABC to repeat, enhance "Lost" season finale on Wednesday

How to heighten viewer interest in the "Lost" season premiere?

ABC has decided to replay -- and enhance -- the finale from last season.

The two-hour "Lost" -- which won rave reviews -- will be screened at 9 p.m. Wednesday on WFTV-Channel 9. The adventure starts its fourth season the next evening. A retrospective special will air at 8 p.m. Thursday, followed by the season premiere at 9.

ABC is not making the season premiere available to critics, because the network doesn't want anyone spoiling the revelations. Sounds like a smart move to me.

As for enhancing last season's finale ... Text at the screen's bottom will provide clues and catch-up information. Aren't you ready to get "Lost" all over again?

Daniel - We miss you!!!!

Hey, is anyone here doing the find815.com thing? It's kind of interesting, and at least it's keeping me somewhat occupied while patiently waiting for next week :)

I just got wind of find815.com, I think I'm gonna start to do the clues and stuff, it looks like some great interactive fun.

Daniel, You have been so busy of late, are you still going to have time to do the "Lost diary" on TMZ.com? We miss you!

Shellie

Daniel,
Are you feeling all tingly like me? Can't concentrate at work or anything....
It's almost here baby! Yeah!
And I totally agree with you--30 Rock is gut-busting funny! Tracy Jordan is the man! In my top 10 funniest shows on TV, right up there with Get A Life.

2 days, 19 hours, and 40 minutes to go!!! Sorry, had to give a shoutout here! I'm so excited!!!!!

Guys, I am really worried about Daniel. Why would he not get back to us for so long? I just have a bad feeling he may be hurt or missing.
