Meet Kevin Johnson
I took off Thursday and Friday from work so I can stay home for four days straight and watch nothing but college basketball. Now that "Lost" is on, I kind of don't know what to do. Who would be the four number one seeds in the "Lost" tournament? I go with Ben, Locke, Jack and Sayid -- I think they best represent what "Lost" is about. I'd have to put Widmore in my Final 4 though somehow, he's becoming more and more of a player as things go on.
For all you "Lost" Diary newbies, here's how it goes: I gather with a group of friends watching "Lost," writing what happens on the show as it happens, and throwing in my two cents along the way. I am watching tonight's episode of "Lost" alone as Lauren is MIA and Ari wanted to wait and watch with her. Lauren's commitment to "Lost" is embarrassing these days and frankly I think it's time I take the show on the road once "Lost" comes back from hiatus. Anyone got room on their couch for me? I'll bring the chips! Let's roll ...
9:01 -- Locke is hosting a tupperware party of sorts as he brings every up-to-speed on what's been going on. Another scene where people tell other people things we already know.
9:02 -- "We kinda, like, knew that forever ago." -- Hurley to Miles when Miles says the freighter is there for Ben
9:03 -- "My spy on the freighter is Michael." -- Ben. To quote Hurley, We kinda, like knew that forever ago.
9:04 -- "I'm here to die." -- Michael to Sayid when Sayid asks him why he is on the boat. Michael, could you be a little more specific?
9:09 -- Ben is giving Alex (who, along with Karl and Rousseau, looks weird in actual clothes) a map to the Temple. Perhaps finally we'll see what the rest of the Others have been up to.
9:10 -- Did anyone notice that like EVERYONE is listed as being a guest star tonight -- including LIBBY??? I don't even know what to make of this info right now.
9:11 -- We're flashing back now -- hopefully to explain how Michael ended up on the boat. Or maybe we're flashing forward, I don't know.
9:12 -- Did Michael just pin a suicide note to his jacket?
9:13 -- Yes, yes he did.
9:17 -- Didn't work though, as Michael wakes up on a hospital, looking a little worse for wear -- and dreaming of Libby.
9:18 -- The note pinned to Michael's chest was written to Walt. Something obviously happened to him, the question is what.
9:19 -- Apparently Walt is just fine, living with Michael's mom. Not showing Walt is a clever way to cover up the fact that he he's like a foot taller than he should.
9:21 -- "I want a gun. I want a gun with bullets." -- Michael. He wasn't kidding when he said he wanted to die. If at first you don't succeed by driving into a shipping container at high speed ...
9:22 -- Another ghost of island past -- it's Tom. Is he actually real? Can't be ... right?
9:27 -- Seems real enough. Oh right, this is months ago, so he's not dead yet. Totally forgot about that.
9:28 -- Tom tells Michael that the island won't let him kill himself. Did the island cause the car crash that kept Jack from jumping off the bridge at the end of last season? Hmmm ...
9:29 -- Others get to stay in penthouse hotel suites?
9:30 -- After Michael tries and fails to shoot himself in the head, a conveniently-timed newscast reveals the wreckage of Oceanic Flight 815 has been found. What fantastic timing!
9:31 -- According to Tom, it wasn't Ben that staged the plane crash -- it was Widmore. Either way, the point of the fake plane crash is the same -- to keep people from finding the island.
9:32 -- Tom even has and entire file -- complete with cemetery photos where Widmore got the the 324 bodies. Details, details, details.
9:33 -- Tom is guilting Michael into being Ben's "guy on the boat" -- and he's doing quite a good job of it. We're just past the halfway point of this episode and I have to say, while it's interesting to see how Michael got onto the freighter, it would have been more interesting to see how he got from the island back to NY.
9:38 -- Not only is Kevin Johnson on the boat, but so are Minkowski and Naomi. What are the odds Kevin and Naomi ended up getting together? Thought I picked up on some vibes there from Naomi.
9:40 -- Is Miles ever NOT creepy?
9:41 -- Man, Tom would make a great football coach -- his motivational speeches are awesome.
9:43 -- Lawnmower Man is giving Michael his theory that Oceanic Flight 815 is really out there somewhere. Michael is probably more inclined to believe him than most.
9:44 -- What's in the box? Fax machine? Laptop? Camera?
9:45 -- The conveniently-timed random gunfire gives Michael all the motivation he needs to open the box, where he finds ...
9:46 -- ... a bomb ...
9:47 -- ... and Libby's ghost ...
9:48 -- ... and a note that reads "NOT YET." Watching Michael try and kill himself all these times is like watching "Groundhog Day" with Bill Murray.
9:53 -- Michael has a call from the mainland -- and it's Walt.
9:54 -- But it's actually Ben, trying to explain how he's different from Widmore and how he didn't kill Libby and Ana Luca -- Michael did. Michael already feels bad enough -- does he have to rub it in?
9:55 -- Ben is giving Michael the game plan for taking down the freighter. Sounds easy enough (and apparently it was).
9:56 -- And now we're back to now ("Spaceballs" reference) and Sayid is outraged that Michael is working for Ben. That's like the future pot calling the kettle black, no?
9:57 -- Sayid is selling out Michael to the captain, and I'm imaging the captain will shoot him in the head and grant Michael his wish. This is the act that will begin Sayid's downward spiral that leads him to go work for Ben.
9:58 -- Rousseau, Alex and Karl are making their way to the Temple. Almost forgot about them.
9:59 -- R.I.P. Karl.
10:00 -- R.I.P. Rousseau.
10:01 -- "I'm Ben's daughter!!!" -- Alex
It's important not to think of this episode as a season finale or anything like that -- it was just intended to be the 8th episode out of 16. So I don't want to hold it to the same standard that I would a finale of some kind.
That said, this episode fell a little short for me. As I mentioned before, I feel like we were kind of robbed of half of the "What Happened to Michael?" story. It was interesting to see how far into depression he sunk over killing Ana Lucia and Libby. And they did give him a pretty good reason for working for Ben, when really I never thought they'd have a real good one. But I can't shake the feeling that we missed a good opportunity (but I understand that they pretty much can't show Walt ever again).
All in all, I'd say we got a solid, but not spectacular episode of "Lost." I give it a C+. While there are plenty of things I liked about the episode, if I had said to you going in, "Tonight we find out what happened to Michael since he left the island and how he ended up on the freighter" -- wouldn't you have expected an unbelievable episode? I know I did.
As for the ending, there are two possibilities: 1) Lawnmower Man took the helicopter back to the island with some people and now they have Alex (just like Ben didn't want) or 2) Ben knew that Richard and company would never let Rousseau and Karl in the Temple, and they killed them (in which case Ben sent them out there to be killed -- assuming they're really dead).
Well it looks like we're off for about a month. I absolutely, positively promise I will do a question answer column on Monday -- I am way too far behind. Click here to send me a question.
Til then ...

This was one of the worst Lost episodes ever. Boring! And now that we know Michael and Walt did in fact make it home, why would Michael leave Walt and go work for Ben?! Yes they gave him good reasons, but after everything he went through to get off the island you'd think he would just stay put and try to get his life back together. I just thought everything about this episode was uneventful.
Posted by: Kat | March 21, 2008 12:56 AM
I agree it was kind of boring, but it's kind of interesting now that the pieces are coming together. We only knew these little bits of information, and every episode they start to connect.
That said, I CAN'T WAIT ANOTHER MONTH!!!!
Posted by: JESSICA | March 21, 2008 02:22 AM
I figured it was Ben that killed Karl and Rousseau even though he said, "I don't kill innocent people". He doesn't want anyone in Alex's life other than him. As far as Michael goes, the captain will surely kill him, but can he actually die now? Hasn't worked before...
Posted by: Susie | March 21, 2008 02:56 AM
So, wait, who was that hot guy with Tom in the hotel suite? Arturo. Tom's gay?? Cool.
Anyway, I liked this episode more than you did...I'd give it a B, but I did think they spent too little time on too many things...not enough depth...the Michael story should have been spread over two episodes....
We do need to find out how Michael got back to NY but then...if they tell us that its going to tell us how all of Ben's people get back and forth (Blink Blink..I'm thinking "I Dream of Jeanniej"!!) so its a larger revelation than Michael.
PS I sam SO sick of that Fibromyalgia medicine commercial, that annoying woman reading "I had pain all over" from her diary before her painting class. It came on in the middle of the show. Or does that just come on here in NY? Anyway, no offense intended to anyone who really has the condition but, jeez, wish SHE'D get LOST.
Posted by: Juan | March 21, 2008 03:42 AM
Aw, we'd love to watch Lost with you. Although, I don't think I could come up with as many genius comments as Lauren, but my boyfriend might. You do great on your own, but if you do want some Losties to watch with, we'd love to have you over or watch somewhere else at some point. If nothing else, we hope you'll have another little shindig at the Cat & Fiddle or somewhere again this year... we read about it too late to come last time around.
Anyway, I enjoyed this episode. It wasn't great, but it was good. It answered some questions, while raising different ones, in a way that was satisfying to me. I dug it. "Desmond's Constant" still blows me away, and is tough to top, but I also thought the following two episodes and most of the season in general, have received a bigger beating from fans than deserved. I'll take a "lesser" episode of LOST over the best of any other show and a good deal of movies, anyday, everyday.
I was only bummed out with this one, because I will miss Rousseau. A moment of silence, please...
Agreed that Ben did away with Rousseau and Carl to keep Alex vulnerable for his own purposes yet to be revealed, ala Goodwin-Juliet. I would also have to agree that I was kinda hoping to see Michael and Walt's journey to NYC.
I don't think there was any vibes with Naomi and "Kevin"... I'm feeling that Naomi was Regina's woman (the woman who jumped off the boat). I could be reaching, but my guess is that it was her initials on the lovey-dovey bracelet we saw Naomi wearing when she was shot.
Good point, about Tom not being dead yet. That threw me off, and was leading to silly theories. Good point about Jack and his suicide attempt, also.
I think we could see Walt again, if all this mind-travel-trickery could result in an explanation for Walt being a little older once he got off the island... Walt is all special-like, afterall, and we have yet to know exactly what the deal is with that... If Locke can walk and Rose can be cured of cancer, I'm sure the island can make Walt taller or a little older.
Don't think the Captain can off Michael though... if he can't kill himself, I doubt anyone else can... until the island is finished with him.
I can't believe I wrote most of the above sentences. What planet is this?
Anyway, RIP Danielle Rousseau. I will miss my favorite crazy, but kick-ass French warrior.

By the way, I wasn't so sure the captain was going to shoot Michael. I imagined that he was going to respond saying that he already knew Michael's role... guess we'll see...eventually.
Posted by: Juan | March 21, 2008 03:43 AM
Juan...
About Tom being gay... yeah, that was hinted when Kate was first captured by the Others. Tom brought her a dress and stood there watching over her, while she was changing... Kate got all prudent, thinking he was gonna get all pervy on her. He told her to basically get over herself, because she wasn't his type.
Posted by: Miss J | March 21, 2008 03:45 AM
Does this mean we're not getting our Rousseau flashback next season, because they seemed pretty definite about having one. Maybe this is yet another "not really dead" moment for Lost.
Posted by: jayputter | March 21, 2008 04:11 AM
This episode for me, was an A-.
It wasn't a reveal episode, more of a cog in the story telling machine.
There's no way that selling Michael out to Captin Planet isn't connected to Sayid working for Ben.
Tom's line's were classic. "Did the bullet bounce off your skull or did the gun just mis-fire?" "It's GAME TIME MICHAEL!"
Karl referencing Han Solo "I've got a bad feeling about this", just die Karl. Just Die!
Russo, hey she just got shot, doesn't mean she's dead. They did it with Locke remeber?
I am excited to see what's going on with the Others at The Temple.
Is it April yet?
And yes, those Fibromyalgia medicine commercial's are National. I could do without it as well.

* This is my 2nd wk. reading this (LOST fan since the very beginning though!) .. it's GREAT!!! & my 1st post!
* I agree w/ the Fibromyalgia commerical playout, though no offence to those suffering
* What's w/ the time difference in posts here, are we trying to mimic LOST?!?!?!
* Karl and Rousseau can't be dead, especially since we haven't gotten Rousseau's flashback yet
* Michael: "I came here to die" I thought he went on the boat to KILL?!
* BEN: did you REALLY need to rub it in to poor Michael about killing Libbie & Anna Lucia?! That was NOT cool!
* I have many opinions, but lets leave room for others ..... I LOVE LOST!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: CRYSTAL PINI | March 21, 2008 04:46 AM
Does anyone think that the guy next to Michael in the hospital was Locke's dad? The timeline would fit.
Posted by: Lucy | March 21, 2008 04:49 AM
I don't think it could be Locke's dad b/c Sawyer had already killed him on the island, hadn't he? It's hard to tell I suppose since time isn't the same and we don't know how long ago that was...
Posted by: Amy | March 21, 2008 04:52 AM
ha! I'm so glad that I checked this out first thing this morning- the diary is never up this early! Now I'll have something to do at work all morning, though it looks like the posts are coming up pretty slowly since the west coast is still sleeping!
Posted by: Anonymous | March 21, 2008 04:57 AM
I am surprised that Tom got off the island and came for Mike and not Walt. Wasn't Walt supposed to be so SPECIAL?
And Aaron is off the island too.
Knowing how easy Tom came to town makes the whole replacement doctor who delivered Sun's baby even creepier.
Maybe the children aren't as important as I assumed.
I miss Hurley and jack and Sawyer and Locke!
Posted by: suzie | March 21, 2008 04:58 AM
Daniel, come on over and watch Lost with me and my dog. Maybe you can have better luck making my husband understand that it's not a good idea to talk about home improvement projects in the frickin middle of Lost!
Anyhow, I thought this episode was anti-climatic and mediocre.
- I really wanted to know how Michael got to NY. I would like to know why his Mother did not believe he was in a plane crash, since she knew he went to Australia to get Walt, and 815 was all over the news.
- I agree that Ben killed Rousseau (RIP) and Carl for his own selfish twisted reasons.
- Sawyer is looking a bit scraggly - I am not happy with that.
- Miles is super creepy.
- Locke is really boring this season. He doesn't seem to have anything to do.
- Juan, I also expected the Captain to tell Sayid he knew all along about Michael
- Tom knowing exactly where Michael would be at the time he was going to shoot himself was probably the biggest WTF moment for me last night.
Posted by: Jenz | March 21, 2008 05:15 AM
I don't think that Michaels FF is that far back in the past because there are Christmas lights and a wreath on his mom's door. It could be early December. This would line up with the Freighter being near the island by
Christmas time.
So now we know the Other's have another way to get on and off the island other than the submarine.
Ben seems to know everything right? So even if it wasn't the Others from the temple that killed Alex and Rousseau he probably knew it was going to happen.
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 05:22 AM
I absolutely loved this episode. I am a big fan of Michael, and it was great to see Mr. Friendly make another appearance. I really want Walt to come back though, I think in the end he is going to be the key to the show.
Posted by: LOST IN TEXAS | March 21, 2008 05:22 AM
Pretty good episode....altho I am not a fan of michaeal's (he is such a whiny baby). So we know that the oceanic 6 have notariety and fame, but how many folks will get off the island and have to live under assumed names like Michael and Walt. I feel sure that it is Michael in the coffin. The libby thing was interesting....and especially the mr. friendly thing. Oh, and the losties with locke are making me nuts.....get some more answers out of ben and miles - come on!
all and all, answered some questions, opened some new ones, but not too many suprises.
Are they rerunning all of this seasons episodes to date next month?
Posted by: Barb in Austin | March 21, 2008 05:24 AM
So what am I missing... who are the 6? Sun, Hurley, Jack, Kate, Sayid... Michael? They said they'd reveal it last week and I was sure it was Jin until he had a tombstone dated the day of the crash... so it wasn't him. Who is the last of the 6?
Posted by: Anonymous | March 21, 2008 05:26 AM
Michael is my least favorite character and I probably want him to die more than Daniel wanted Charlie to die... watching him attempt to off himself and not be successful was very painful for me. I just don't understand how he could kill Libby and Anna Lucia just to get Walt off the island and then hand Walt over to his mother. He seemed to be at the same point when he was on the island always screaming for Walt.
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 05:29 AM
They showed Aaron as being part of the O6.
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 05:30 AM
If micheal can't kill himself, does that mean that Charlie couldn't kill himself either? Cause that's what he basicly did, sacrifice his own life so Desmond would live and Claire and Aaron would be rescued.
Posted by: suzie | March 21, 2008 05:31 AM
I know Jay...I almost feel like "so much for the Rousseau flashback" but John Locke was shot and didn't die (thank God) so who knows. In the preview for the April 24 episodes I couldn't help but hear the cash register...I mean the black smoke monster a lot in the background. Hopefully we'll find out what the heck it is. Oh yeah, did i miss something from before? So big Tom is gay? Not that it matters, but I didn't see that little tidbit coming, it kind of threw me a bit. But I agree with Daniel, Walt looks like he could be shaving at this point, it's best to "shelf" him or bring him back in some kind of flash forward. Probably the worst episode this season but I still liked it.
Posted by: Angelo D | March 21, 2008 05:32 AM
I have a question...
The announcer said last night that the Oceanic 6 had been revealed. Who is the 6th one? We have Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sun, Sayid and who else? Unless they are counting Aaron?
Posted by: Julie | March 21, 2008 05:35 AM
Just a note, I totally agree with the earlier comment from - I think it was Juan- I am ready for the fibromyalgia lady to beat it. I cant stand that commercial, it must just place in new york...
Posted by: sillyIsland | March 21, 2008 05:37 AM
Julie, I'm with you- I didn't think that the 6 had CLEARLY been revealed. TeresaLynn says Aaron is the 6th. Could be, but I don't think that was obvious. Michael being the 6th would be better!
Posted by: Amy | March 21, 2008 05:39 AM
Thank God for Tivo....I start watching at 9:20, finish about 10:05 and I have no idea who this fibromyalgia lady is! And i love my Mac but I am getting tired of seeing the macbook Air fly by in FF.....
As for Aaron being one of the O6...cop out!!! His obviously wasn't on the plane's manifest....him being one makes as much sense as Richard or Fake Henry (or Fenry as my daughter still calls him) being one...
Posted by: Chuck | March 21, 2008 05:40 AM
I agree with an earlier writer, that Michael hasn't risen above his obvious problems and until he does he won't find any peace. (or death if that is what he wants). Was it Whidmore or Ben who planted the fake 815? Could be either one and we know how Ben likes to play with our minds. Just what kind of power does the island have if "the island won't let you", and you are no longer on the island? Do we know for certain that the sub was blown up? Love Miles creepiness - he knows alot more than we know that he knows. (hope that makes sense)
Posted by: lostandgoneforever | March 21, 2008 05:41 AM
What if Tom switched out the gun in the alley and the whole "you can't die- the island won't let you" is a mind game that Ben is playing with Michael to get him to work for him?
Posted by: Amy | March 21, 2008 05:45 AM
LOL...Ben not killing innocent people. THATS hilarious considering he killed ALL of the Dharma Initiative.
I give the episode a B also...I just want to know one thing! Who do I believe? Is Ben the good guy, or is it Whitmore? I need answers here!
Posted by: TallyRockChick | March 21, 2008 05:48 AM
Julie, you need to pay attention after the show ends. After the commercial, they have a preview for the next episode of LOST, and in last night's preview they showed the Oceanic 6 - and it included Aaron.
Posted by: LOST IN TEXAS | March 21, 2008 05:52 AM
It seemed like just before Michael was going to set off the bomb that 70's music from the hatch started playing and then some whispers could be heard, right before Libby appeared. Spooky... so the whispers are creeping off the island..
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 05:52 AM
I hear you about the wanting Michael to die comment. I really can't stand the guy either. I had forgotten how much until he started whining again.
Posted by: Jenz | March 21, 2008 05:54 AM
AMY..... please girl! After Michael's gun wouldn't go off, they showed him open it up and it had all 6 bullets.
Does anyone on this blog even pay attention to the show?
Posted by: LOST IN TEXAS | March 21, 2008 05:54 AM
I was wondering why the bodies were from Thailand? At first I had thought of the tsunami, but the dates are wrong. The proof that Tom showed Michael wasn't really proof at all though. They could have made all that up.
I agree with others - I think it's Michael in the coffin. The person commited suicide and was from New York, which is where Michael said he was from. I guess the island had no more use for him at that point.
Posted by: Jane | March 21, 2008 05:55 AM
Are you guys crazy??? People have become jaded! This was a great episode. I very much disagree with Daniel, I give it an A because it laid the path for what is to come in the second half of the season. It answered a lot of our questions and I think it is important to have scenes where our friends, the losties, are let in on the secrets. More to come, I haven't read any comments yet.
Posted by: CAM | March 21, 2008 05:55 AM
I KNOW the gun had 6 bullets, but couldn't Tom have switched the gun to one that had 6 bullets but wouldn't fire- just to mess with Michael's mind??
Posted by: Amy | March 21, 2008 05:57 AM
no, I agree with Amy, Tom had the gun, then gave it back to Micheal, then it didn't work. It could have fake bullets with no gun powder or something. Tom could have switched guns. If he knew right where Mike was, he could have easily know what kind of gun he had, to arrange a switch.
Posted by: suzie | March 21, 2008 06:02 AM
I agree too...those Others play dirty. Its all about the mind games!
Posted by: TallyRockChick | March 21, 2008 06:03 AM
I agree the episode answered some questions.
*We have confirmed Aaron is part of the O6.
*The Others can come and go from the island (at least some of them).
*We know Walt and Michael both made it off the island.
We don't know if when Locke was shot and laying in the pit, he saw a vision of Walt through the smoke monster much like Mr Ecko saw Yemi-or if Walt is able to come and go off the island. I think it was the smoke monster or Jacob appearing as Walt. I think it's important for the losties to realize that the smoke monster or Jacob, whoever is appearing to these guys as someone they know, is totally playing them.
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 06:05 AM
Can't believe Daniel didn't touch on the fact that Tom was gay.... thought it deserved at least a mention.
Posted by: Robin | March 21, 2008 06:11 AM
TeresaLynn, my interpretation of the whispers and the music michael heard was this: he was having memories (flashbacks) of when he had to push the "button" in the hatch, since that is when he was going to his the button on the bomb. may not be right, but that is just what was going through my mind at that moment.
Posted by: Jaclyn | March 21, 2008 06:11 AM
One thing that's baffling to me is why is Michael so hard up on killing himself? Yesh he offed Ana lucia and Libby but what's the real reason? Is Walt not enough of a reason to live? Why does his mom have to keep him and Walt a secret from everyone? He could have easily lied and said he never boarded the plane because of some BS reason and the crash made him freak out thus the 2 month haitus from the real world. Question two is they managed to make it off the island, who rescued them and how in the hell did they make it to New York? Why was Michael always looking at that old ass photo when I'm sure he had updated ones to fawn over?
Tom made a key point in referencing the fact that only "certain" people can travel to and from the island.
I found it weird that after Michael told Sayid and Desmond what was going on- Desmonds reaction has been kind of odd-emotionless even. He just been told Widdmore is going through a lot of trouble to get to this island and will stop at nothing to do so and he reaction has been like "eh".
Glad to see Miles didn't accidently sneeze and blow himself up.
Ben being the good guy- wouldn't have never thought, but then again with Karl and Rousseau getting sniped doesn't really make him angelic. Hopefully they'll flashback for her to see what her story was anyway.
Last nights EP wasn't that bad, glad that they went into what happened with him when he got off the island.
Posted by: Kitten | March 21, 2008 06:13 AM
Did anyone else notice that between Season 2 and Now, Ben left the island for some Botox or facework?? He lost most of the wrinkles on his face, including some serious crow's feet, from the "Previously on Lost" to the actual episode.
Posted by: Mandy | March 21, 2008 06:13 AM
I think that Walt is mad at Michael and refuses to live with him. So, since the one reason he fought to get off the island is not even a part of his life, then there is no reason to live. I think they intentionally left out the journey from the Island to NY so we would wonder what happened??? Michael made all this fatherhood progess on the island just to mess it all up.
Posted by: CAM | March 21, 2008 06:15 AM
No one has seem to mention Claire was also shown in the commercial for the next episode along with the other Losties as being the Oceanic 6-did anyone notice?
Posted by: Kitten | March 21, 2008 06:17 AM
Here is a theory, sorry if I can't type it the way I am imagining it in my mind...
Farraday is crying because he knows he is connected to the crash victims (he has seen the future). Because he has met Desmond (in his past), he gets the picture of Penny and Desmond from Desmond (in his past, taken from Penny). He holds onto the picture of Des & Penny (cuz' he needs his Constant to survive, could be a thing or a person, he said it himself). When he ends up on the freighter, he gives Naomi the picture to bring Desmond back to the freighter (cuz he can't go to the island with all his electro-magnetism issues (or he's chicken, cuz let's face it, he is quite wimpy), he feels he may not survive, so better to bring Desmond to him, right?) So, Naomi goes to get Des, dies and now has to go to the island (suffering mild side effects, until he gets his Constant, Desmond).
Does this make sense? Possible? Am I LOST in my theory?! HELP!
Posted by: LOSTinSD | March 21, 2008 06:18 AM
Remember when they did a Miles flashback and he went to an old woman's house to help her rid the spirit of the boy that had lived there. Could that have been Michael's mother??? I realise that it would have been too early to be Walt's ghost since he was there after Miles would have been there. Any thoughts on that one??

Someone bought up a fantastic point... if the island wouldn't let you kill yourself (ie Michael and Jack), is Charlie really dead??
ANd I think there is something totally up with Michael wanting to kill himself so badly. LIke someone said before, isn't living for your son enough?? Something else happened along the way... maybe in the story of how Michael and Walt got to NY from the Island. And I also believe that the captain knows all that information about Michael already. I thought the episode was okay. I gonna miss my weekly LOST fix though. See you all in a week...

Jenn - Thats what Kristen said on E!'s Lost Redux as well.
Posted by: TallyRockChick | March 21, 2008 06:20 AM
This ff was no different than the others this season. They all have shown what was going on after got off the island NOT how they got off the island. I believe that is to be covered next season.
Posted by: Jeanne | March 21, 2008 06:21 AM
One thing to keep in mind - a lot of us have learned to switch off the TV before the ABC geniuses can spoil the next episode for us. Therefore, some of us did NOT know that all six had been revealed, or that Aaron was shown as one of them. And I would agree with Amy about the gun being switched to one that would not fire, even with six bullets, but remember the car wreck - they said it was a miracle that he survived. He didn't even have major injuries, from the look of things. I think the island is preventing him from dying, and I think that if Jack had jumped, he would have survived. Too bad - the two most annoying characters IMO are Michael and Jack, and they are destined to live...
Posted by: Nan B | March 21, 2008 06:22 AM
Remember that it came out last night that Michael told Walt he killed Anna Lucia and Libby in order to get him back. This is probably why Walt doesn't want to see Michael and it also just adds to why I don't like him. Michael tells Walt just to try to alleviate his own conscience. Why would he unload on a little boy???? Because Michael is and always will be selfish. The only reason he is on the freighter is because his life is so miserable he'd rather die. Does this man ever make the right choice?
I'm not sure yet that Ben is the good guy. It could be Ben and Widmore are both bad guys and that Jacob is the good guy. Or maybe there are no good guys in this whole scenario.
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 06:25 AM
You know how people die after they have somewhat come to some sort of peace and resolution in their life? What if this is a requirement for dying almost? Michael is definitelly NOT at peace and neither is Jack when they both attempt suicide. BUT Charlie has made peace.

Cam I couldn't agree more - I LOVED this episode... I was left with so many more questions and thoughts and theories. That is what makes the show so good - Do you really want all of the questions answered? There would be no show...
Posted by: Rachel | March 21, 2008 06:27 AM
CAM- great thought!
Posted by: Amy | March 21, 2008 06:27 AM
LOSTinSD you just blew my mind with your theory - i really like it!
Posted by: Jaclyn | March 21, 2008 06:27 AM
Jenn- Miles went to a house in Inglewood Ca and Michaels mom lives in NY, so it doesn't look like it would be the same person, unless she has two homes.
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 06:28 AM
I think I'm completely out of sync with you, Daniel!
I thought this episode was an A. Of course it raised more questions, but that's why I loved it. It's just not LOST if you don't walk away with more questions than answers. I can't believe you didn't mention the scene where Ben tells everyone that the Boaties are there for him and once they have him their orders are to kill EVERYONE ON THE ISLAND. And Miles just stood there like "Well, he's pretty much right..." Hello? So, did Dan really disable the gas? IDK, I'm no mad scientist.
Check out LostisaGame.com. Although I thought this guy had WAAAAAAAY too much time on his hands when I first read it, I found this on his "Monster" page: "The Monster can take various shapes, even people." So, that would explain Christian Sheppard, Dave, Libby's reappearances (that monster can get off the island- eeek!), taller ghost Walt, Kate's horse, Sayid's cat, etc. Could the Monster be Jacob? or the island itself? I think so.
I also totally believe that the Others killed Krazy Karl and wounded Rousseau. If they'd wanted to kill Alex they would've. Which leads me to wonder how Ben is communicating with the Others still? (creepy psychiatrist meeting Juliet in the jungle) Does he have a Others Walkie Talkie in his pocket? OR is there a secret tunnel out of his holding cell in his basement?
I definitely would've liked to have seen Michael and Walt's journey away from the island (the bearing was 325, not 305 as was the freightors). What did time do when they moved away from the island at such a low speed? Did they have to make it through a thunderstorm too?
I love LOST and I think this episode was awesome! If you don't, you need to remember back to last year when Nikki and Paulo were fighting over briefcases and paralyzing spiders.
;)

Also, I think what happened between Walt and Michael was that Michael told Walt that Michael had murdered two women and betrayed all of the other survivors so he could get Walt off the island. Mr. Friendly ragged on Michael for spilling the beans to a ten year old. That's a lot of guilt to put on a kid -others had to die so you could live in NYC - oh, and don't tell anyone. No wonder Walt wakes up screaming and refuses to talk to his dad. I don't think that Walt is living with Grandma because Michael wants him to - I suspect it is at Walt's choice - maybe he'd spill the beans otherwise.
Posted by: Nan B | March 21, 2008 06:28 AM
Just wondering: Has anyone asked the question how is Ben's daughter - the French Woman's daughter, too.
Posted by: TG | March 21, 2008 06:30 AM
I think it's just habit for Ben to call her his daughter because he raised her- which is why she still refers to him as her dad. It's all a lie, but he's the only dad she knows.
Posted by: Anonymous | March 21, 2008 06:34 AM
Saw it coming with Tom (Mr. Friendly). Remember when he told Kate, "You're not my type". Yup.
1. I think either Ben set it up to have Rousseau and Carl killed (he cannot stand seeing the groping on his 'daughter' and doesn't care for Rousseau, she's not one of 'them'.) Alex will probably go to the 'safe place' (temple), per Ben's instructions with whoever it is approaching her in the bushes? (will we finally see the Others next week?)
2. Or, he knew they, the boat guys, (remember, Frank and another guy went to run an errand?) were coming, maybe they knew who to take (Alex). Who is on who's side? But, my hunch is theory 1.
Michael appears to be living in his own real life form of purgatory (sp). Cool to see Libby again (and she was holding towels in her hand, just like before Michael killed her).
Timeline... Oceanic has not been found yet (per the convo between Michael & his Mom, apparently he and Walt have been gone for 2 unexplained months). Michael is living in his guilt, shares the killings (of Ana Lucia and Libby) with 10 year old Walt (to explain why they were freed). Walt is either given to his Grandmother or chooses to go with his Grandma (angry that Michael abandoned the survivors). He is suicidal. Michael has not dealt with his issues and until he does (as we have seen with the other survivors, he isn't free until he succumbs to those issues (and Ben's work).
These Michael flash-forwards are before Tom (Mr. Friendly) is killed on the island by Sawyer. It is just before Christmas (Grandma's decorations). The breaking news is announced and:
*Miles is driving up to the woman's home in Inglewood
*Farraday is crying in front of his tv
*Frank is in his store front watching tv
*Charlotte is traveling, reading it in the papers wherever she goes
*Naomi is meeting with Abbadon
*Michael leaves his apartment (after seeing the news on tv), to go see Mr. Friendly and his boy toy (New York)
The song played is the one Desmond continuously listened to when he was in the hatch. It was also on the radio when Michael got into his car to commit suicide. It has been a reoccuring song throughout the Lost episodes.
I can't wait to watch it again to catch what the 'whispers' were etc.
Posted by: LOSTinSD | March 21, 2008 06:35 AM
LOSTinSD, it wasn't the same song that Desmond was listening too, but it is by the same Singer: Cass Elliot.
Posted by: Jaclyn | March 21, 2008 06:38 AM
Also I just read this off of lostpedia: The Hotel Earle (the one Tom was staying at) is a fictional hotel which is a metaphysical manifestation of hell itself for an awkward, isolated New York City writer in the 1994 Coen Brothers film Barton Fink.
- I love all their random references to other movies and books!
Posted by: Jaclyn | March 21, 2008 06:39 AM
P.S. I am so glad that Aaron has been confirmed... people may not want to believe it... but I am sooo glad we know now!
Posted by: CAM | March 21, 2008 06:40 AM
LOSTinSD - I agree with your timeline. I did catch the blankets or towells that Libby had were the same she was carrying in the hatch. It gave me chills.....
I also agree that Ben set up karl and Rousseau. You had to catch the look Ben gave Karl as he had his arm around Alex. He looked like he wanted to kill Karl right there and then.
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 06:41 AM
Charlie didn't kill himself, though - Eyepatch Guy did by blowing up the grenade. So the island lets people die, but apparently won't let people - or at least some people - commit suicide.
I'm trying to figure out what Hurley said in the preview for next week - he's standing at the window looking out, holding Aaron, and it sounds kind of like he says "Is that Claire's house?" but I don't think that's what he actually says. I thought maybe it was "It's at Claire's house" but that didn't sound quite right either on rewind.
When Tom said "certain people" can come and go from the island - well, duh! Certain people who KNOW HOW! lol I'm sure Ben doesn't let just anyone know how to do that.
Posted by: Sugarpop | March 21, 2008 06:42 AM
I'm glad Aaron was confirmed too. I don't think that Claire has to be dead at this point. She could of been forcefully separated from her child. This would be a huge motivation for the O6 to do whatever it is they are suppose to be doing off the island.
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 06:44 AM
I think Claire is going to die in the next episode or at least get gravely injured...did anyone notice in the preview Hurley holding Aaron? There was a bang, like a small explosion, and Hurley said, "Isn't that Claire's house?" If she is hurt and they go to find Jack to help and he can't save her that could contribute to the guilt in the future. Or it could be a combo because the Faraday and Charlotte are involved somehow in the house damage because Jack tells them that is where they think Ben is staying and he can't save Claire due to her injuries. Just a thought.

How do Widdmore and Linus know eachother and why is it important for Widdmore to get to the island? How did the diary come to surface? How does he know about the island? Him purchasing the diary of the captain of the Blackrock was interesting-what peaked his interest in the Blackrock?
I noticed last night that they made a small reference to the water dripping from the faucet at Michael's place- I think the water represents that it's constant; much like life is- almost philosophically.
If Miles knew that Michael really wasn't Kevin Johnson- is he getting vibes in spurts or does he know more than they are showing?
My theory in the Oceanic 6 is this. Maybe Ben is a 'good' guy and what Tom told Michael is true, in order to keep the other Losties alive he has to off the crew and keep his mouth shut along with the Oceanic 6 by covering up with lies to keep the other Losties alive. I would think it would be more beneficial to Ben and the Losties to expose Widdmore to the world to protect themselves. No one like better to beat up on the bad guy, so why not let the world have a crack at Widdmore? He's obviously up to no good and getting him off Ben's back would most certainly protect the island and it's location.
Posted by: Kitten | March 21, 2008 06:46 AM
It seemed like Ben's nose was bleeding when he was talking to Michael on the phone. Was that the case or was it just a shadow? It reminded me of Desmond's nose bleeding when he was "travelling". Did anyone else notice this?
And, TG, Ben kidnapped Alex's daughter when she was a baby. So she is not Ben's bio daughter.
Posted by: Mama Nirvana | March 21, 2008 06:50 AM
I noticed Ben nose bleeding too, he had been gettign his ass whipped so much, figured it was from that- but maybe he had finished traveling and Michael was his Constant....could be possible-who knows....
Posted by: Kitten | March 21, 2008 06:55 AM
show of hands who thinks ben is an actual psychopath!?
1. superficial charm
2. grandiose self worth
3. pathological lying
4. manipulative
5. lack of remorse or guilt
6. callous
7. lack of empathy
8. FAILURE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACTIONS
the only problem is that he doesn't fit into having a socially DEVIANT lifestyle. except for you know killing people and being a liar.
A. Got Goodwin killed blamed it on losties.
B. Told Michael to kill Ana Lucia (also killed Libby) takes no responsibility.
C. Lies about all sorts of things.
D. Overall doesn't seem to care about anything but himself or "the island" but he really means himself.
Posted by: Amelia | March 21, 2008 06:57 AM
OK.... last night during the final scene I kept thinking that the Temple is soem sort of way for the others to get off the island. This would be why they haven't come back to rescue Ben, they are off the island. Then, when Danielle and Karl were shot, I automatically thought it was Ben's people so that Alex was the only one who found this portal off the island. I don't know, it was just my initial thought. I also don't think Danielle is dead, it looked like she was shot in the same place where she shot Henry Gale with a bow and arrow, enough to take her down but not kill her.

Daniel Daniel DANIEL!!
This episode was GREAT! I found myself yelling at the TV again! I haven't done that since Season 2.
"No Sayid! Don't do it! "
"Holy Sh*T! , OK. Ben really doesn't like Carl."
I thought this episode was an A, Simply because it made me excited for more... just like LOST always should.
And because Kate was no where to be seen.
Posted by: EG | March 21, 2008 07:04 AM
Is it possible that Michael/Walt also think that Jack and Kate and somebody else are dead because of him? Remember the scene where he is leaving in the boat and they are all on their knees with their hands behind their heads with guns pointing at them execution style? Maybe that is why Walt is mad? Because he thinks Michael allowed them to die so they could leave? Something Ben said on the phone with Michael made me think of this but I don't have TIVO or anything.
Also, how did Widmore connect Flight 815 with the island? How does he know?
Posted by: Lisa | March 21, 2008 07:04 AM
I completely agree that I would have loved to seen how Michael got back to NY ... but I loved last night's episode and can't wait for the next ones !!
Posted by: Stacey | March 21, 2008 07:14 AM
I just saw something freaky, has anyone beside me noticed that the news anchor ALWAYS reporting the Oceanic 815 flight being found looks like the dude in the Dharma videos?
Posted by: Kitten | March 21, 2008 07:15 AM
Does anyone remember that Desmond calls Penny on Christmas Eve and Michael boarded the freighter @ Christmas and his mother said he was missing for two months? That would make time constant on the island, boat, and NYC. This makes my head hurt?
Posted by: Melissa | March 21, 2008 07:16 AM
Maybe Michael's mom decorates for Christmas early...
Posted by: Anonymous | March 21, 2008 07:20 AM
If they disappeared for about 2 months, then they showed up at the end of November. So, the FB for Michael is probably sometime in December.
Posted by: CAM | March 21, 2008 07:23 AM
If Michael was gone 2 months and the flight was in September it was November when he went to see his mom. Plenty of people have Christmas stuff up by then.
Posted by: Amy | March 21, 2008 07:23 AM
oh and the hospital had a christmas tree up too.
Posted by: CAM | March 21, 2008 07:24 AM
I haven't read all the posts yet but I loved this episode.
btw-looks like there are 2 kats. One is Kat(who hated the episode) & the other is kat (me) I loved the episode.
But I did want to say for having survived on an island by herself for 16 years Rousseau was pretty DUMB, to say the least, to trust Ben. A man she clearly despised a couple of episodes back & now she making eye contact & trusting him because she's stupid enough to believe that he loves his "daughter". I thought that was very weak on her part...she should have been stronger than that.
more to come later I am sure!
Looks like Mr. Happy sure is! :)
Posted by: kat | March 21, 2008 07:24 AM
I thought last night's episode was pretty much a snore-fest. I don't care about Michael. I've been a Michael-hater for a while. But the comments here prove that everyone watches Lost a little differently - some love Michael and actually care if he lives or dies, and others couldn't possibly care less. I would have rather seen a shorter description of what happened and focused more on what's happening ON the Island.
Posted by: Manda | March 21, 2008 07:29 AM
I'm loving more and more how we see that Ben really is in control of so much. I just love to hate that guy!
And I love Sayid manhandling Michael. Michael is still just as annoying as before. Sayid is so hot when he gets tough . . . but I digress. I do agree it was the pot calling the kettle black. Little did Sayid know that Ben would soon be controlling him too. Ben is the man!
And I wish Locke would knock some people around more and get all aggressive again. He's a little too passive right now. Of course, we do know that he was right and Jack was wrong. That's right, baby! Team Locke all the way. As we saw in the adds for next week, the war is coming, and I know my man Locke will step up.

first timer..love the chatter.. Dan..you expect way too much in each episode.. C+ come on. as for the french lady..how did she survive Bens purge? with all shes been through this was a poor way to kill her off..
Posted by: Gregg | March 21, 2008 07:30 AM
I am NOT a Michael fan. But I do appreciate that if the writers of the show think it is significant to take as much time as they did last night on a particular character and storyline, I will pay attention and appreciate the direction they are taking the show.
Posted by: CAM | March 21, 2008 07:31 AM
Back to the commericals for a second...
Did anyone else see the split second glimpses of The Mole ad? Maybe just a Detroit tv issue. But, seemed like something Lost would sneak in there.
Posted by: BH | March 21, 2008 07:31 AM
Oh, and how did Tom get such a hot guy?
Posted by: cathead67 | March 21, 2008 07:34 AM
The Mole is an actual show that is coming back to air on ABC. It piloted sometime last year, it's sweeps so they are introducing some new shows.
Posted by: Kitten | March 21, 2008 07:35 AM
My husband accused me of not liking this episode because I don't like Michael. Well, maybe that is partially true, but come on! I'm with you, Daniel: We were cheated out of half the story with him, and my guess is that it was the more interesting half.
When the most thrilling moments are the only ones that didn't involve Michael, there's a problem. I have to say, I TOTALLY knew Tom was gay, so I was thrilled with the validation. ("You're not my type" with a knowing smirk to Kate? Come on!)
Michael is working for Ben only so he can kill himself. Yippee. Hurry up and git 'r done, already!
Posted by: Katey | March 21, 2008 07:36 AM
Ben was a young adult at the time of the purge. Rousseau may not have been on the island yet.
It's characters like Michael, that I love to hate, that really make the show great. I really liked the episode. It's just Michael that frustrates me.
Mr. Friendly is probably a New York stage actor when he is not "acting" on the island. Ya gotta love him. :)
Posted by: TeresaLynn | March 21, 2008 07:38 AM
I've noticed the same line being said three different times.
1. In a 'puzzle piece' on ABC.com Christian Sheppard tells the dog to 'go wake up my son, he has work to do.' (that is right after the plane crashed before Jack wakes up in the jungle)
2. Walk tells Locke to 'crawl out of the pit, you have work to do.'
3. Mr. Friendly (Tom) tells Michael in last night's episode, 'you have work to do.'
What is up with that?

I noticed the Christmas tree in the hospital, that bothered me with the timing of everything. Though I suppose nowadays, places have Christmas crap up as soon as Halloween is over...
Posted by: Katey | March 21, 2008 07:43 AM
very interesting episode, watching it again right now. a few things i have noticed so far:
tom was outraged that michael did all he did and still lost walt in the end. he couldn't beleive he shared with walt exactly what he did to get them off the island...b/c he killed libby and ann lucia and turned over jack, kate, sawyer and hurley to the others, walt couldn't be around michael anymore...that is why he was living with the grandmother, waking up screaming in the middle of the night...michael can't/won't tell his mom what happened, where they were...hmmmmmm.
i rarely disagree w/ daniel, but i think walt is the key to the show and we will definately see more of him.
libby looked different, not like she did when michael knew her..more like she did in Des' and hurley's flashbacks
the old man in the hospital bed...looks familar.
still re watching...after last night's viewing and this morning, so far good episode.
thought we would see how he got home, but we take what we can get.

HELP!
Don't have DVR and I missed something significant last night when I got interrupted by someone at the door; I came back to see Ben sending Alex off with Rousseau and him say, "your mother will protect you"...
Then the next thing I know, Karl is killed, then Rousseau in the back... who is shooting at them and where were they going and why? What else happened in that brief couple of minutes I missed? At commercial, they were all hearing Locke/Miles/Ben and then I must have missed something significant. Fill in the gaps- please!
Posted by: jam | March 21, 2008 07:46 AM
wait, I want to clarify that I saw the whole episode except for the moments right after a commercial break when Ben sends Alex off... to where? why? who's hunting them with bow and arrow?
Posted by: jam | March 21, 2008 07:48 AM
Jam - You know almost exactly as much as we do. You never see who is shooting. They are on their way to the Temple (which looked, from the map, like a Dharma station) to meet up with the rest of the Others. They're already there - it's the last safe place on the island, according to Ben. And it is also not for the Losties.
Posted by: Katey | March 21, 2008 07:51 AM
The Oceanic 6...Aaron is not one of the six. He was not on the manifest. Walt was. Walt's grandmother said they could not let people know who they were, they use different names. I think Aaron is being used to mislead everyone. Michael will die and Walt will become the 6th Oceanic survivor. Going back to Jack and the coffin; Jack said he was not family or a friend, that’s because Ben is in the coffin.
Posted by: SheepDog | March 21, 2008 07:51 AM
julie...same line 3 times...good catch! i think in each case, the person/being saying the lines is working directly for the island. the island has work for them..wow, can't beleive i wrote that!
oh, interesting, Tom said to Michael, we gave him back to you in one piece, you are the one who LOST him...
Posted by: monkeyface | March 21, 2008 07:52 AM
Most seem to agree it was Ben's minions doing the shooting. He wanted to get rid of Carl and Rousseau.
Posted by: cathead67 | March 21, 2008 07:52 AM
For once we did not hear Michael screaming, WALT!! Where's my son!?? I wanna see my son!
Thank goodness for that.
However, I think this episode was necessary to move the plot along so I was happy to watch it. I truly believe Michael loves Walt which is why he would do anything for him, even kill himself. Oh and Walt refuses to see him because Michael confessed to killing Libby and Ana Lucia.
I think Ben would go at any length to protect the island. I believe Mr. Whidmore over him any day. I have no logical explanation for that so it'll just have to work until I get confirmation or evidence otherwise.
Desmond has been a little to quiet with this whole Mr. Whidmore situation. I mean HELLO! He's the one who convinced you to go on the race around the world, you crashed on the island and now it's like your possible future father in law is numero uno on the bad guy/good guy list...WTF Desmond???
Whoever said this was a good episode because Kate was not in it...I agree 1,000,000%.
Now on to questions:
1) Is anyone else really irritated @ the fact that Aaron is one of the six?
2)Don't you think the whoever those people are shooting @ Rousseau, etc that they know Alex is who she is?
3)Does anyone think that Charlotte, Farraday, Frank and Miles AREN'T there for Ben, I mean they said they are, but to me it's not THEIR number one priority, they just have to act like it is.
4) Okay, so we know Walt is off the island, are they going to explain why we have been seeing him on the island?
One more thing, my boyfriend and I were dying to know how he got back from the island to NYC, but as the writers have already announced (and no this is NOT a spoiler so please don't get mad at me) Season 5 will be how whoever gets off the island gets off...maybe that will include Michael's off journey? And I know Walt has grown up some (in real life) but I'm sure with the intelligence level of these writers they can figure out to incorporate him for another episode or so...
PS I'm beginning to worry about Vincent again. Has anyone seen him since the last episode we saw him (episode number four of this season I think)
Okay, that was a lot, sorry, but I'm making up for not posting last week. I gave you a topic...talk amongst yourselves!
Posted by: sarah badara | March 21, 2008 07:55 AM
michael asks tom if you people can come and go from the island as they please, tom said some of us....ben, richard, ethan, tom, who else and why them?
Posted by: monkeyface | March 21, 2008 07:55 AM
Jam-
Ben convince Rousseau, Alex, and Karl to treck to the Temple by telling them that when the freighter folks arrived they'd find out Alex was his daughter and use her against him. He drew a map to the Temple so she could be safe with the Others. Half way through the trip Karl got all "I don't have such a good feeling abou this" then *bam* he gets shot.
Posted by: Maureen | March 21, 2008 07:56 AM
2 things -
is Micheal's mom the same woman that let Jackie Chan from the Freighter (lol) aka Miles into her house to do some ghost-busting in this season's opener?? That episode is already deleted from my TiVo :(
Also, I'm sure that this has been answered somewhere along the way, but how exactly is Alex Ben's daughter? I'm no Lost newbie, been wathicng from Day 1 - but I can't recall. Did he just steal her from Danielle when she was an infant and raise her as his own? How did Rosseau give birth on the island and not die? Her and Ben didn't get it on, right? I'm having a total brain fart.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Lost - even the mediocre episodes :)
Posted by: Danielle from VA | March 21, 2008 07:57 AM
I thought it was a cool episode for one reason only. "The Island" won't let Michael kill himself yet! CREEPY, CREEPY , CREEPY!! If I put a fully loaded gun to my head and pulled the trigger twice and still lived to think about what that actually means, then I too would have done whatever Tom was asking of me. Obviously, with that sort of magic or power or whatever it is, "The Island" would stop at nothing to get Michael to do it's biding, including capture again...torture...and eventually kill Walt. I can't wait for the next episode. This has been the best season yet as we continue to finally get some answers.

I like all these questions about Alex being Ben's daugther. We all know the Others took her from Rousseau when she was just a baby, but how did she come to be raised by Ben and not someone else on the island?
I hope that question makes sense!
Oh and I just want to point out, for once, haha (up until right now) that I had a post without mentioning my possibly dead working for the island old man crush on Christian! Haha!

"Wasn't Walt supposed to be so SPECIAL?"
Yes, remember being with his mom and stepfather sitting on the floor with a coloring book and the same bird he is coloring crashes into the window? Later on the island he is reading a comic book with a polar bear and then right after that the first polar bear shows up. I think Walt has something to do with controlling what is going on now. Michael with gun, Jacks attempt to jump from bridge, etc. Cause of Walt's nightmares?
Also, agreed with you CAM about a portal off the island. Did anyone notice when Ben looked over at Alex she was standing with Clair talking to Aaron? As she turned to leave with Karl she placed her hand in a protective gesture over her stomach. The same way a pregnant woman does. I think Ben saw this and that not only made him angry at Karl but also he knew he had to get her off of the island to prevent her from dying.
I agree with other posting here that Michael is the one in the coffin as the obit said the deceased was from NY.
One last thing. I watched the previews for next week with Hurley holding Aaron. I rewound several times trying to make out what Hurley said. It sounded to me like "Think Claire knows?" Could be wrong. If so knows what? Have to do with why Jack won't visit Kate and Aaron?
