Housekeeping

- I plan on unleashing the pre-finale LDQA on Thursday morning, so keep sending those questions in. Click here to send me one if you haven't already.

- I just finished re-watching season one of "The Wire" and it's amazing how that show holds up. I can keep watching it over and over. Season two is up next.

- Does anyone know anyone that saw the new "Indiana Jones" and actually liked it?

- I saw The Raconteurs at the Henry Fonda theater in Hollywood last week. Quite possibly the best non-Prince show I have ever seen.

- I am doing some TMZ press on Wednesday, talking with the Max Kellerman Show on ESPN radio @ 11:20 AM ET. Hopefully I won't screw it up royally.

- Other finale thoughts: "Gossip Girl" was weak, "Desperate Housewives" was good, "Ugly Betty" was alright and "The Office" was hysterical.

Hi Daniel!

Hi

I quite liked Indiana Jones 4. Is there something wrong with me?

I didn't think so...

BTW, LOVE the Lost Diary! It's the only way I know what the heck is going on in that show.

Thank you thank you thank you for what you do!

So, someone asked a few days ago how we would want LOST to end. I put in my 2 cents and said the Losties will go back to the island, Kate will be with Sawyer at the end (although I am a die hard Jater! & they will co-exist as island people. (That's the short version :)
How would you like it to end Daniel?
Can't wait till Thursday!!

by end I mean THE END Season 6 end.

I actually liked the new Indiana Jones. But I went with my 2 boys, so maybe I caught some of their enthusiasm. To them seeing a new Indiana Jones movie is like me seeing a new episode of Lost. We talk about them for days afterwards and want to rewatch them again right away.

I was fine with Indiana Jones. Popcorn movie.

What did you think of the last Battlestar Galactica? Whoa.

My LDQA Question: Do you think "Lost" means "Lost in Time"?

Raconteurs, yes. Prince? Nah.

I work with kids aged 5-12 years old --- they LOVED Indiana Jones.

But come on - they're campy. It's just been a few decades since we watched that kind of fare in a theatre.(if we were old enough to see it in theatre!)

Gossip Girl could have been stronger, but they did throw some curveballs in there.

The Office WAS hilarious, although most people were polarized on it.

i think out of the list, Ugly Betty was the weakest. they could have ended the season when Wili put that fetus up on the projector, announcing she was harboring a third Meade heir.

*I DO know someone who liked 'Indiana Jones!' It is not me. It's this guy at work who has a giant scar around the top of his head, like maybe at some point the top of his head was actually taken off and put back on.

*Speaking of 'The Wire,' I saw an ad last night for a new JJ Abrams show on Fox...with Lance Reddick in it!!! Lance Reddick is the workingest man in showbusiness!

*In real life I live like two blocks from the Henry Fonda...alas, I'm outside of Boston for work for eight months. Could have seen the Raconteurs here...didn't.

I liked Indiana Jones too. True there were some silly scenes, but it was a fun movie. In fact, in one of the opening scenes he's in the warehouse and removes gunpowder from bullets (to locate an artifact--apparently magnetic) and when he releases the gunpowder forms a cloud-like shape that starts flying around alot like Smokey moves.

Would like LOST to end finding out that the island was actually Atlantis or another Ancient culture that had disappeared. When I look at all the amazing things in the world, like the Pyramids or the giant pictures etched into the ground (I forget what they are called) in South America, I wonder how could ancient man have possibly created these things with out sophisticated engineering? I think there have been colonies of other worlds here that either died off or left probably because of the hostile nature of man. However it ends, I will be sorry it's over! Hey, maybe if they just keep time looping they can keep the show running forever with slight differences!

This week's Ad Age had article re: Lost Copycat shows that feature complicated plots to engage viewers. One mentioned was another by JJ Abrams called FRINGE that will begin running midsummer on FOX with a 2-hour premier.

I LOVE Max Kellerman! I'm a HUGE boxing fan and I think he's now ready to move up into PPV HBO Boxing commentary as opposed to working on HBO BAD along side Lennox Lewis (yikes!). Larry Merchant can retire now, Max is ready for his close-up!
Daniel, tell Max he's got a fan on TLD!!

I didn't like Indy, I tried to but I blew a fuse. I even watched the first three and this one didn't even come close.

Am I the only one in the world that didn't see Indy last weekend?
I have been hearing some bad reviews, was it really that bad?

I tried to catch you on The Herd this morning, but maybe I got the times mixed up. ESPN radio is Collin Cowherd up here in Portland during the mornings. 11:20 ET is 8:20 PST right? Oh well, hope it went well. The M's finally got a win last night over the Red Socks!! Yeah!!!!!

Heather - I'm really not trying to be rude, but I must say this about that; I'm sure the guy at your work has a lovely name. It would be a lot shorter & well, frankly, nicer if you said his name instead of describing his scar. He's a person, not a scar.
Just a thought.

I haven't seen Indiana Jones, but I'm guessing the best part should be that Harrison Ford does some of his stunts himself!

Indy 4 was a letdown for me. There were some great actions scenes, for sure, and the return of Marion was nice (she was always my favorite of his girlfriends), but by the end I was wondering if Chris Carter was going to sue for copyright infringement or something. That ending seriously had no place in an Indiana Jones movie.

How would I like LOST to end....oh gosh, I'm going to go with epic battle. Not in the traditional sense, with guns and explosions, but more of a final showdown between Widmore and Ben (and all of the Losties, aligned accordingly).

B: You are totally correct, that ending was completely out of the X-Files movie!!

As for lost ending this season, I would most like to find out what 'move the island' means and who the two 'survivors' were that died on the island with the oceanic 6. I just hope that when LOST ends completely they don't try to explain every little detail and storyline. I also would like for some of it's mystery to be left open to interpretation. Hopefully not an ending as severe as say the sopranos, but something that does it's fans and the show justice.

and PS it's red SOX not literally red SOCKS. Not only are the best team in baseball, but they are also a part of LOST. Enough said.

I would really like LOST to end in a way no one expects, in true LOST style. I definitely don't want it to be something ridiculous like they are all dead (which I believe the writers have already said is not true) or even that they are all just crazy and it is all in there mind. I want the end to answer a lot of questions but at the same time leave some things open (if that makes any sense).
Oh and I have to agree with alex, the Red Sox are the greatest. Also GO CELTICS!

The Office finale was great! The new HR Rep thinking that Kevin was "special" was hysterical, and I loved Phyllis dumping the stuff off (be-otch)Angela's desk. But I hate, hate, hate that weasel Andy for stealing Jim's moment.

Oh well, I suppose they have to drag out the Jim/Pam thing a bit longer. Now I suppose she'll meet someone when she's at the art school in New York for 3 mos.

Oh yeah. Ryan being led off in handcuffs? Legendary!

My LOST diary question: Anyone else still puzzled by that weird foot statue that Sun, Jin, and Sayid saw at the end of, what, season 2? That still freaks me out a bit.

I really liked Indiana Jones. Of course it's the first movie I've seen in the theater since Freddy vs Jason and Jason X, so I'm not to concerned with plot or reality in my movies.

Best non-Prince show! Ha! I saw Prince 3 times in one summer (his Musicology tour) and he is by far the best performer EVER! Morris Day and the Time opened up for him in Detroit the second time when we were front row....Yes, Jerome did have the mirror...
Daniel, we have so much in common, I'm on the second season of the Wire too. The first two episodes aren't as exciting as the first season, but I'll still watch.

I liked Indiana Jones. I mean it was a little more E.T. than I had anticipated (I didn't investigate what the film was about beforehand, so it caught me a little off-guard).

Excited for LDQA.
Super duper excited for finale.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's Red Sox....I typed this morning before I was really awake. My bad!! BTW the Mariners are up 1-0 at the end of the 4th.....:) Maybe our dry spell is over..

Although I do have to say, Boston is my second favorite team....

I love the Indiana Jones series and can't wait to see the new one. They are all a little corny, it's one of the things I like about them. I heard Iron Man was really, really good.

I loved the office finale. they have the best finales... but i feel like they just save all the good parts of plots till the end, and for most of the season the plot doesn't progress at all and they make up for it by having funny jokes. but i like plot damn it!

gossip girl was ok... it was par with the rest of the season. it just wasn't a finale... more like we're going on hiatus for 3 weeks be back in june/july episode.

kat - just a thought...if you can't say something nice...you know how it goes...i admit i haven't read ALL the posts on this board, so maybe you WERE appointed motherhen? your personal opinion of heather's post was REALLY not neccesary. let's just keep it on LOST, yeah?

Hey guys - LOST is on tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wooohooooooo! :)

ok now-
wonderlost - Since you took the time to say something & I woke up in a particularly pissy mood this morning, I will take the time as well.
I wasn't trying to be nor was I appointed motherhen. I'm just someone who thinks what she said was very mean & extremely shallow. I would say it to her face if I could see her, so I said it here, hoping she'd get it!.
I get that insecure people need to do & stay stuff like that to get by, but it's just wrong.

Yeah, let's keep it on LOST...that's funny! You're on the wrong blog brutha!

and having said all that, let me say this: IGNORE BUTTON!

Does anyone else feel like Thursdays go by slower than any other day?

I loved the new Indiana Jones, I know it was very supernatural, but if you think about it the other 3 were as well. I think people just forgot what the movies were about and focus on how every action movie should be like Iron Man or Die Hard.
I cannot wait for Lost tonight!! I having a LOST finale party, but I made it perfectly clear that there will only be talking during the commercials, I dont want to miss anything!
Question - Do you think Desmond is going to die!?!?!

I really don't think Desmond is going to die, I think he will make it off with the Oceanic 6. They just haven't shown him yet so we will think he dies. But that could be wishful thinking because I just don't want to see him die.

Daniel! Get out of bed!! Bring on the LDQA!

Also, speak to your boss about you getting more face time on TMZ on TV.

Preferably some good shots of You holding a sign that says, "HI EG!"

Went with my wife and two girls to Indy 4 and we loved it! I don't understand what all the bad reviews are about. I never go by reviews anyway. Eveyone has an opinion I guess. The biggest things I want to know tonight are why are the survivors lying about the crash to the outside world? Who is left alive on the Island? Are Claire and Jin Dead? Who's in the coffin? What does Kate have to do for Sawyer? Does Demond reunite with Penny? How does Ben.... Oh, nevermind. I can ask a thousand questions! Can't wait for tonight...

kat - you are missing the point ... the majority of people that post here at one time or another aren't talking about LOST - and that is fine, there are some fun and interesting off subject topics that come up and i believe the majority of the posters enjoy that. i was simply pointing out: who do you think you are to judge someone you don't even know? it's cracks like that that get tiffs like this going.

i hear you if you had a bad day, but i don't think it's your place or mine or anyone else's to get personal... I'M doing it now because i'm tired of the cliqueiness here. you mega posters have great ideas, but you kinda stick amongst yourselves and aren't real open to what newbies are saying.

no wonder cam bailed.

cheers, hope your day gets better, i'm sure it will, tonite's episode should be amazing!

7hrs 45min until the new LOST is on!! :)

I completely loved the new Indy! I was so glad they stuck to the humor and campiness that IS Indy.

I think there are still too many unknowns for me to say how I'd like Lost to end. But, I can't wait to know and at the same time am sad we'll have only 2 more seasons.

PS - GO PISTONS! GO WINGS!

DAMN guys, stop picking at each other.

I personally thought Heather was just trying to be funny, and made up the guy who had the top of his head surgically reattached. She was saying that would be the only kinda person who would like the movie. (I LIKED THE MOVIE BY THE WAY.)

If a real person looked like that, and she made fun of him, then she's an insensitive be-otch.

BUT WHY WERE WE TALKING ABOUT INDIANA JONES ANYWAY?? THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT LOST.
And this is supposed to be FUN.

ya took the words from my mouth suzie!

i am going crazy waiting for tonites episode! 2 whole hours, what could be better? think how *??????* we all are each week waiting for a new episode...as a season finale, no i mean a LOST season finale you KNOW it's gonna be intense and leave us at the edge of our seats till season 5!

anyone know when season 5 is slated to start by the way? i have heard october, and even as late as january!?! oh it's gonna be a looooong summer, LOL.

i mostly can't wait to see if everyone's theories come close to tonite's episode! should be danial's best recap yet...just 7 hours left for the east...!

So how does it work tonight?

I know the finale is 2 hours long, but is it true there will be a replay of "no Place Like Home #1 shown an hour before the finale? With the subtitles?

Watched National Treasure last night, was surprised at how much stuff was similar to Indiana Jones movie! Jones much better.

Re: Prince...he is awesome! Nobody plays as many instruments as he does! And you can't beat Morris Day and the Time...HALLELUJAH!

kat - I got your back buddy. I hit my IGNORE button...The visual of the scar stayed with me all day!

3 whole hours of Lost tonight!!! Can't frikkin wait! The promos said they are adding scene's to Part 1 so could be interesting. 5 hours 50 minutes to go on the East Coast!

Catch ya tomorrow - Namaste!

Jesus, I HOPE there isn't a guy that looks like that. What if there IS and he reads this blog? I just never thought she was serious.

kat, hope your day gets better, so you can work on those magical island babies.
Remember who first came up with the IGNORE button? I think it was CAM.

suzie - I think the ignore button came from monkeyface...I'm not sure come to think of it.

just fyi..my day has gotten A LOT better, but I must address this annoying situation one last time. For those who know I normally let things go, I apologize for this but I think it's important to let this guy know who I think I am.

hey wonderlost - you want to know who I think I am?!
I am a mother who is trying to teach her child that making fun of people is WRONG & not polite!
It's people like you & whoever this heather person is (that has mysteriously disappeared & can not speak for herself for some reason) that make people feel bad with your insensitive comments.
If she/you were making a joke, it was in poor taste & NOT FUNNY. I WILL say that, IF that's how I feel.
I know about the off topic humor around this blog. I contribute to that.
But I THINK I AM the kind of person that has a low tolerance for people who say hurtful things about others and I have NO problem voicing that.

I find it very interesting how you care about this more than Heather does...anyway,
IGNORE BUTTON &
CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!

Happy LOST Thursday Everyone!!! :)

Hey! I think we're all getting testy because of our LOST suspense, so let's try to keep it civil. I understand you guys sticking up for yourselves/others, just think before you speak, that way there won't be any fights on here to disrupt the manic positive energy that is sure to come from tonight's finale. Personally, I agree with Suzie--I think Heather just made that guy up. (Maybe it was insensitive to do so, but less insensitive than if he was real.) Wonderlost, I completely disagree that the "original posters" ignore everybody else. I've found the complete opposite on this board. First of all, anyone can post a comment, so it's not like they can restrict it to the "originals". I've found them to be kind and welcoming. Maybe they were like the Original Lost Diary Family, but they're perfectly willing to adopt new members, and I'm proud to be a part of it now. Also, please stop referencing CAM in that manner ("maybe that's why she left"). Only she knows her reasons for leaving, and it's disrespectful to speculate. She's never going to come back if people talk about her that way!
Alright, I've had my say. Sorry for the intrusion. Enjoy LOST tonight!

have fun with the brown eyed triplet Beej!

I can just see you dreaming of 3 Keamys at one time.

Do you guys realize the Keamy actor sings, dances, speaks French and does stand up comedy? busy guy!

darn, that was me talking to Beej,

WHY DO I KEEP SHOWING UP AS ANONYMOUS? suzie

Suzie--yeah! Like I said, Kevin Durand is the perfect man. He seems nicer than Keamy, too... Or, er, all three Keamys...maybe he's quadruplets and one of them (who has, I don't know, purple eyes?) is this really sweet guy who does gardening and raises dachsunds.

It could happen.

kat - my apologies...it seems you and i are two peas in a pod...well maybe not the same pod, but vine anyway: i too am trying to raise my daughter up well...i too believe it is wrong to say hurtful things to and about people...but i feel it makes more sense to wonder WHY someone would say hurtful things about another, i don't usually rudely & sarcatically point it out to them, ... that mends no fences...i generally like to stick up for people...agreeing to disagree...truly...it was not my business, beej is probably right: we're all testy due to LOST withdrawl...hey you and i can't be that bad...we're are LOST fans after all...enjoy tonites episode ~

Yea Beej, he might be nice. He seems alot more likable to me cause he obviously has a sense of humor. (stand up comics have to right?) I like guys that can make me laugh.
But Keamy with a weinie dog? Nah, can't see it.

wonderlost - enjoy tonight's episode too.

Don't forget everyone!...the replay of Part 1 is going to include an extended press conference scene.
8pm (pac stndrd)

Whoever said Chris Carter should sue is completely right! And while they are at it, the writers from SG1. Dear God, was there a plot point that wasn't telegraphed like ages before it happened on screen? Didn't everybody see how it was going to end the second they talked about going to Incan rulns? Didn't they do that on X-Files once, too? Yeah, I was not impressed. At least the first two movies were a little more original in their scope and story (not so much with three).

I cannot wait to see the fur fly tomorrow morning in the comments, and I am very dissappointed that none of mine were the least bit close to what happened!

A lot of people have been run off from this blog or at least run off from posting here because of all the haters. I (under another name) was one of the original posters and I just got tired of all the jerks stealing names and playing games. I still love to read Daniel's blog and the comments, but this place is not friendly. Maybe I'm too thin skinned.

Kat - I don't think that what you said was inappropriate at all. You didn't call Heather names, simply stating that her co-worker should be called aby his name not a physical deformity. Wonderlost - chill. Nice of you to defend a friend, but you were the one who came off nasty.
I have been a long time reader and a recent poster. This is my favorite LOST site and have been welcomed to this blog. And yes, sometimes we get off topic, but there's just so much time spent here that it's nice to get friendly and share a bit of ourselves. I'm sorry insightful people have felt uncomfortable and left LD and hope they return. It's a big enough island for all of us!

Hey, Beej! Leave the green-eyed Keamy for me! I don't think he could garden and raise weenie dogs, it's just not him, perfect man or no. Daniel! I need my recap, dyin here. I leave at 11:30, I need it before I go, or I might go crazy!!! I'm talking in exclamation points! GAH! I don't mean to snap.

Off Topic-
Daniel, I saw funny games-You were so spot on. Great flick!
Lost did eat my life
