Donde Esta El Lost Diary?

Didn't know I spoke Spanish, did you?

For several reasons (Prince on Leno, first day with my trainer, a late basketball game, and I left my laptop and car at work) I did not watch "Lost" last night. That's the bad news.

The worse news -- I can't watch tonight either.

But here's the good news -- the reason why I can't watch tonight is that I am going to an event at the Writer's Guild in Beverly Hills featuring Damon Lindeloff, Carlton Cuse and a few other writers of "Lost." I imagine it will be a ridiculously awesome experience, one I intend to write about fully.

So here's my plan, as of now.  Watch "Lost" Friday night (after my beloved Orange advance to the Elite 8) and write up some kind of mega Diary/"Lost" writers event post (or posts).

One person already told me "last night's ep had some shit," so I will try and avoid it like the plague over the next few days.

Side note - I saw Prince last night on Leno. I sat right in front of Jay, so you might have seen the back of my head at some point. Tune in tonight and tomorrow (as I am going two more times this week to see Prince) so maybe you'll see me again.

Also, Prince is playing THREE shows in LA on Saturday night and I am going to all 3. Drop me a line if you're going too and we'll trade Prince thoughts.

For now, you guys can chat here about last night's show. I won't peek.

Namaste,
Daniel

Oh man, you know everyone is going to give you hell for not posting. Well, I understand. No worries. We can still talk about it without you review, not like we didn't know what happened ( no offense ).

PS He's back to Prince now? I missed that change, prolly when I was in boot camp. Oh well...

I am sad... but the epi was only good in the last 2 minutes of it anyway!

Can't wait to hear about what Damon and Carlton have to say!

Priorities Daniel.. Priorities...

Prince over LOST? Who are you?

Morning all!

First of all, I don’t believe that young Ben will actually be dead from the gunshot wound. I’m not sure if the Island will “heal” him, or if by some miraculous event, the bullet will have missed his vital organs and he will be saved. Just mark my words, young Ben will live….and he’ll be PISSED. Maybe THIS event is what will make him the BEN that we have grown to love to hate. Just my humble opinion….I don’t snoop on spoiler sites…just thought I should mention that with the new fear of spoiler mentions on this site ;)

Secondly, I have a question to pose …why did Jin feel the need to call Sawyer first before letting Sayid run off into the jungle? I found that odd…totally out of character. Something is up with this odd new dynamic.

OK, so here it is again...

Little Ben is dead. That allows Big Ben back on the island.

Little Ben is dead and Big Ben disappears from Hydra.

Little Ben is dead, and Big Ben is still in one of the parallel timeslines.

or

Little Ben was WARNED and has protected himself against a trained assassin's close range gunshot to the chest. Which begs the question: Who? Was it RICHARD? Or was it Big Ben from another timeline trying to change all universes?

Discuss...

daniel is not in to this like we are. so i am done with his blog now, its not the same. I read in other comments that people are reading other blogs and reviews. Can you post them for me? Daniel used to be so into this and loyal now its just something to do whenever... Im done with him.

(trouble posting today!! argh)

I am excited to hear what Damon and Carton have to say!

Daniel - I am a huge Prince Fan too. Love Prince almost as much as Lost...are you surprised Wanna be Your Lover is one of my favorites? I am jealous that you get to see him so many times and that you are going to the Lost event! Who's cooler than you?!!

Ben wanted him to kill him!!!! Not sure why yet...but he did.

I saw Prince 3 times! He's my fave!!! Well, him and Stevie Wonder. Have fun!

Suze, maybe Jin sensed that Sawyer was LYING and wanted to check with "LaFleur". After all, he was with Ben and Jin knew it.

fanolost - If little Ben is dead Big Ben has to die too. Therefore, the first three possibilities are disqualified.

@ ihatekate: EW always has great write-ups.
http://www.ew.com/ew/package/0,,1550612,00.html

@ihatekate

Seriously, you think that everyone, including Daniel has nothing else going on in their lives that excuses missing an episode of a TV show? WTF? I know we all like watching & talking about it, but perhaps you need to find a hobby outside of Lost to gain some perspective.

I posted this last night. Not my idea, it was Greg's (regs know who I am talking about)

What if Big Ben Locke sees laying on the cot is not injured from his blow to the head, but he's in some sort of coma/vegetative state b/c Little Ben in 1977 was shot by Sayid. I agree w/Suze - little Ben will not die d/t powers of the island/Richard - but he will take some time to heal I'm sure ( b/c he is not special like Locke, and the island tends to get him sick - tumor ).

So b/c little Ben is "healing" big Ben will be unconscious, whatever, until little Ben is back to full power.

This is similar to Theresa ( I think that was her name - the lady Desmond went to visit, whom Farraday apparently up and left? ). She exists somewhere in the past, but her present (2000-ish) self is drifting in and out of consciousness d/t her past self being hurt, killed...etc?

Does that make sense? Greg had to explain it to me barney style a couple times before I got it, but I thought it was a great idea.

AnonAnon - ihatekate can leave if they want, I don't care if people who complain leave.

I feel as though I am about to throw a Ben tantrum. Please help me no one really responded on the other post. Did Sayid kill Jin?

okay I am done now. Was anyone else suprised that all Oldham did was give Sayid drugs. From the way Sawyer was talking I thought he was going to torture Sayid.

did anyone else notice that in the previously on lost they showed young Ben meeting Richard in the forestand asking him to let him to take him (little Ben) with him (Richard)? my husband and i have not missed an episode ever and we do not remember that happening? did we miss something or was that a mistake on the shows part?

A 12 yr old Ben Linus just brought me a chicken salad sandwich, how do think I'm doing?

Best line of the night!!!!!

Hey ihatekate. I read the lost blog on filmfodder.com its pretty good and organized. It is not generally as funny as Daniel but its good! And for the record I also hate Kate!

ssarah - you should tell Greg to join us in these discussions, he seems to always have good ideas and theories

I think Jin called LaFleur since he does not trust Sayid, or is so programmed to go to follow chain of command. The previews for this epi said "everyman for himself, or survivor against survivor" or some such. So maybe the ties that bind the Losties are slowly being broken down and it is each man for himself. Or maybe Jin has not talked to Lafleur about the new arivals and wants to get in the loop.

But one thing I want to mention, I hate the way the previews for the next week are so manipulated, voice overs the wrong scenes, that they lead us to spin off on tangents.
IE: "3 years long enough=hooded chick or Juliet sounding like she warned Kate off when she didn't. Why not show honest previews?? I do not even try to tell someone what will happen next week because they are misleading. They made the fire look so out of control and it was minor. What gives?

oh boy. here we go with the anon shit.

If you watch Lost Untangled on ABC.com you will see a glimpse of little Ben with a wrap around his chest where he was shot. Seems to me he is not dead...yet...and my bet is that Jack will have to save him.

This leads me to my thought that there are parallel worlds or something to that effect. I mean little Ben gave Syaid a book that was about alternate realities...Ben will most likely have to be saved by Jack again, and Syaid was in an eerily similar position as Henry Gale was when he was captured by the Losties.

Of course I have no idea where they are going with this though.

lostinlanff

That did happen in a past epi. Ben running away and meeting Richardo

@ Jenn3 - I don't think Sayid killed Jin, I just think he knocked him out so he wouldn't talk to Sawyer. There would be no reason to kill Jin in that scene.

@ lostinbanff - that was a scene from I think season 2. They just showed it last night because the time of it tied in with last nights episode.

@ Jenn3 - I don't think Sayid killed Jin, I just think he knocked him out so he wouldn't talk to Sawyer. There would be no reason to kill Jin in that scene.

@lostinbanff - I believe that was an older epi, different season...

@jenn3 - I too didn't think Oldham was 'like you/Sayid' at all...

and no, I don't think Jin is dead. I think Sayid knocked him out.

@Cam - why can't Big Ben revive from being dead? Others have... I know not in the same manner, but I don't think it's not possible. Again JMO

Its funny cause Jack saved ben like 3 times, Sayid has hurt been just as many times.

Thanks perdido. It almost looked like he snapped his neck, which is the Sayid move, but I just couldn't be sure. That was my first OMG last night and then Ben was the second.

Big Ben wouldn't exist if little Ben is killed.

@ Jenn3 - I don't think Sayid killed Jin, I just think he knocked him out so he wouldn't talk to Sawyer. There would be no reason to kill Jin in that scene.

CAM - I tried to. But he's not as into it like I am. Like when Christian comes on I'm all like YESSSSSSSS and he's like shut up, no talking rule!!! (PS I'm still laughing about the comments on my status last night - "dead-ish" LMAO)

But he usually has one really great idea each season that just kinda pops into his head, doesn't theorize like we do. And he's Team Ben, so from 8:00 - 9:00 central we break up. Haha!

Is it driving anyone else crazy that Jin has not asked one person about his wife and child???? What's up with that?

I loved when Sayid was trippin and told them everything about them. Especially when he was like SWAN STATION, and Rad. was like we haven't even named it yet! LOL

Sorry about the double post, my LSD sugar cube just kicked in

Lame

@Suze, I agree with you. Ben survives and heres the transformation scenario as I see it. Imagine you are a 12 year old boy whose mother dies in child birth and you are raised by a mentally and physically abusive father. A few years back he moves you to this isolated island, away from all of your friends, and the people on this island happily enable your father’s abuse, in fact, they exacerbate it by giving him a work assignment that he considers beneath him. Of course, dear old Dad takes it out on you because he takes everything out on you. One birthday, after more abuse, you have enough and you run off into the jungle, see an apparition of your dead mother and then run into an older man with heavy eyeliner who tells you that there is an end to your suffering in sight, you just have to be patient. So you wait and wait in your personal hell, and then one day you try to help a man who is held prisoner by the same people who hold you captive. You help him escape and once you are in the jungle, at the very first opportunity, he shoots you in the chest. END OF THE INNOCENCE! Who gave Ben Linus the final push down the path of being a monster, Sayid Jarrah. Instead of destroying the monster, Sayid helps create the monster.

I am soooo jealous! Writers Guild AND Prince on Leno and ALL 3 Shows!!!

I hope you do a review of that!

Ilovelost -you're back. suzie, fanolost and I were wondering where you were yesterday?

I called it last week, and I'm sticking with it. I knew Sayid would shoot young Ben. Young Ben is definitely still alive and the bullet is probably lodged in young Ben's spine. Jack the Janitor will have to come out as Jack the Surgeon to save his life...again!!

holy cow - ILOVELOST you are back. I was pondering your missing status just yesterday... Glad to see you posting!!!!!!

Though it may not seem like it, the LSD could definitely be seen as a type of torture. I personally have never done it, but know people who have, and they tell me it's the craziest thing they've ever seen. Imagine Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, times a billion one person told me before. It's not that it physically tortures, but it's definitely a mental torture.

And I still think it's hysterical LSD was "created" by the US government as a truth serum. Hahahaha...

so when we saw little ben meet richard we did not know at the time it was little ben? just making sure we are not missing something important because our minds exploded a little bit two weeks ago when we met little ben and i would be mad if it was the moment was not as great as we thought it was! Also maybe this explains why when the original plane crashes the others know all about the people on the plane because they were all on the island before? (in the 70's)

ssarah - re: last night on your status: one time by grandma told me that I should start trolling for rich old dudes with one foot in the grave so I can get all their money when they die... and she was SERIOUS!!! HAHA LMAO

Sorry about the multiple posts - something is not quite right with the site today!

lostinbanff

we did know it was little ben. we saw little ben's backstory in the Dharma init. on the island and how his father was crue.

I called it last week, and I'm sticking with it. I knew Sayid would shoot young Ben. Young Ben is definitely still alive and the bullet is probably lodged in young Ben's spine. Jack the Janitor will have to come out as Jack the Surgeon to save his life...again!!

So as I read your posts I was remembering how Jack saved Ben once before with heart surgery. Do you think that was a complication of Sayid shooting young Ben in the heart or am I reading way to much into this?

@ lostinbanff | March 26, 2009 08:33 AM

We knew it was little Ben, it was a whole Ben flashback episode.

*cruel

That anonymous at 8:33 was me - darn computer glitches!

lostinbanff - no we knew it was Ben. It was a Ben episode, we saw him arrive on the island with his dad in the submarine and then later in the episode they showed Ben go into the jungle where he saw his mother and met Richard.

lostinbanff - this was not a mistake, I remember when that episode aired...it was the one that leads up to the entire Dharma Initiative being killed with the gas cans, remember?

Which leads me to my question, if little Ben dies (and Big Ben dies as well) then that means that the DI people never get massacred by Ben and the Hostiles which means the island will still be run by the DI in present day, right?! That would be frikkin crazy!

Jack performed back surgery on Ben not heart surgery.

Your Orange is going down my friend. Boomer Sooner!

Yes I am back. Sorry I haven't posted in a while.
but I have been reading though..I just couldn't find anything productive to post, the Episodes have been pretty self-explanitory.

LSD is crazy, unfortunalty I have done it (long ago) and its the stupidest thing I have ever done, but yes one of the craziest experiences of my life!!! Wish I never did it and DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!

Jack saved Ben before by removing a massive tumor from his spine. Jack is a spinal surgeon.

Flashest Monk - your theories are usually my favorite. thanks!

computer is misbehaving it takes forever for my post to show up, and then it keeps saying error. didn't mean to be the 3d person to answer lostinbanff :(

Not to be a H8er, but the my guess is that this is the second time that aKnicks-Clippers game (this time an OT event at MSG in NYC) has trumped a viewing of LOST (okay, throw in a strange confluence of Prince on Leno as well, but you get my point. Priorities dude, priorities?!?!?!) Those are like to of the worst teams to ever play pro-ball, come on. Okay, I got it out, I feel better, whew!

I wonder if "destiny" would find another leader to help the hostiles purge the DI... you can kill Ben but who knows if this time they will use Ethan in his place... or maybe someone else we don't know.

Oh snap flashestmonk - spot on I say.

Perhaps Jack will have to save Little Ben, while Sawyer gets blamed for Sayid's escape, and then Jack will get his leader position back from Sawyer...hmmm

Come on we dont need Daniel anyway, We really only care about each others opinions/ theories anyway : )

No offense Daniel, but your part of the blog ,well, well, most of us dont even read it ; )

@ flashest monk - I agree with ssarah, your theories are great! And I totally agree, Sayid was the straw that broke the camel's proverbial back.

Man this blog has seriously jumped shark. Daniel doesn't even watch the night it airs!?!? He says he has TiVo! Guess he's too caught up with his regular career and all the freebies he's getting. Labor for money won over labor of love. I am not holding my breath for a "Super Lost Blog" because I don't think he will do it. Either that or he won't do it until next Wednesday morning or something.

I skim read some of the posts last night and noticed the mention of the book by Carlos Castenada. I read the first three of those books probably in 1977 (I was closer to Phil’s age then young Ben). Those books were full of the use of psychotropic plants ("power plants”) to gain an altered state of reality. Mostly peyote and mescaline. Not LSD, but it would have the same effect. Also, anyone with me that William Sanderson is too good a character actor to bring in for one little LSD sugar cube scene. They may be making use of his skills on Jack, Kate or Hurley. Afterall, he is their Sayid.

Sorry I didn't read all the post from Last Week.

But yes Baby and I are both ok!!!!

Sorry for the worry!!!!

but thanks for the Concern

: )

@ Me | March 26, 2009 08:47 AM
I don't think you understand the definition of "jumping the shark"

@ilovelost
Speak for yourself! I look forward to reading Daniels blog every week, i will admit that it is not as good as it used to be but neither is the show! We are all Lost fans here but i think its time to admit that the show isn't as good as it used to be. Period.

1. the guy from Blade Runner, I knew I recognized him from somewhere.
2. The Lost Book Club: I've never read anything from this. I was so excited to see that book last night from Carlos Castaneda. I've read it! Holy Crap! Without ever thinking it wouold turn up on Lost.
Now I get why people are so into that kind of stuff, seeing a book they read on Lost.

Dear Daniel, YOU SUCK. You aren't even a real Lost fan. You can take your basketball games and your little Prince concerts and shove them. PS I can totally see now why you can't get a girl...

I know but, I care more about the opinions/ theories from people who blog on here : )

lostinbanff- in season two, Ben's back story was given, this showed the first meeting with Richard. We also saw Ben (as an adult leader)send the other's (Ethan and company) to do re-con on the 815 crash survivors. That is how they know about the people on the plane. They created files for each of them so Ben could use them to his advantage.

R. Burke -LOL

@Flashest Monk - it's Daryl, Daryl and Daryl - and when you put Oldham in that old character - it's way hard to see him as a Sayid... hee

'shrooms - my altered state of choice. JMO

has anyone seen Deadwood? it was a show on HBO, it only lasted 3 seasons, but daryl daryl daryl was also on that.

LSD / Shrooms - both made me feel like I just went crazy, they seemed like a good idea until they started to kick in..LOL

WOW people are way harsh for a guy that does this for -- oh wait -- no reason!

For all of you that can't handle that Daniel didn't watch the show, go and start your own blog for chrissake and get outta here with your negative vibes.

PS - I wasn't thrilled with last nights epi anyway, except for the last two minutes -pheww that was great!

OK, I just have to say this:

I LOVED Hurley as the cook. Haha - try the dipping sauce, it goes great with the ham!!! hahaha! Better go back to making pancakes.

And what was up with Kate not catching on to Juliet/Sawyer? Really? Loved Hurley's line - coulda seen that coming!

Okay, so let's expand on the theory that Sayid shooting Ben is what makes him the evil man we know today. Is it possible that all the original O6 will eventually play into that scenario as well? After all, they are all now with little Ben on the island in 1977. And why would the O6 have no recollection of this experience whereas Ben most likely has full knowledge of the past and how each of them have been a part of it and have affected his life. I have way too many questions and no answers, but I thoroughly enjoyed last night's episode. Some great Sayid material.

People should remember this is a tv show, and life goes on. Enjoy your events! Now, someone tell me why we had to waste an entire episode to get to the point that Sayid shoots lil' Ben? Seriously lame episode. The entire episode could have been boiled down to five minutes during another episode and made a "killer" addition, instead of boring me to tears. Yes, Sayid was awesome tied to the tree, but the rest was pointless. We know Ben's dad's a jerk, we know Sawyer is in a precarious position and needs to make tough decisions to save Juliet and the rest, and we know Sayid is a killer who doesn't love killing but happens to be good at it. The fact that Kate didn't know about Sawyer/ Juliet was handled badly. Very heavy handed. And the bar scene was dumb, too. We knew she was a "cop" of some sort from the plane. Big whoop. Alright, so it explains how he was caught, but it took too long. I thought we were done with filler episodes. Having said all this, watch it turn out to be a very important episode with lots of hidden and subtle clues I was too bored to pick up on. Ha ! That'll teach me to have an opinion. Anyway, thanks for discussing, even though our fearless leader is out having a life. I am sure he'll catch up, in due time. In my opinion, he picked a good week to skip. D- (saved from F by the last 2 minutes>)

@Ben, I had this thought last night, similar to yours when I saw the Castenanda book going thru the bars from young Ben to Sayid. The power of LOST. Its like Ophra's book club. Do you think Amazon sales on Castenanda spiked this morning??? Obviously the writers on this show are well read and are drawing (as good writers do) from numbers of classic works. This is just a thinkers tv program, got to love it.

atleast shrooms are naturally made / LSD is like a cocktail of chemicals, that can kill you if made wrong, and the only way to tell is try it :(

I know a guy who had a bunch of LSD in his pocket and it got wet and all Sunk into his skin and to this day he thinks he is a glass of Orange Juice.

My favorite line of the evening was Radzinsky threatening the group to call “Ann Arbor” for a decision. I’m sorry, the deGroots are currently tailgating at the stadium. They will return your call after the game with Ohio State. Ha, ha, never heard beautiful Ann Arbor painted in such sinister tones before. :)

@spacemonk - she wasn't a cop - a widmore person, but I never thought she was a cop - and yes, that scene was a lot of filler time...

@ilovelost - for the price, a 4-6 hr. 'ride' worked for me!

Yeah this morning my son was like "I dont eat that, no thanks man",,, he was like remember when Jin asked (more like motioned, since he didn't speak English yet) Hurley if he wanted some Sushi he made (1st season) I about died... My son is 8 and loves lost as much as me!!!!

@flashestmonk - Ann Arbor - what is up with that? I sorta figured there were more 'places' but Ann Arbor?

No sub going there... ;)

@Flashest Monk..

I don't know, that's interesting. I did have to look up Carlos Castaneda's name, because all I could remember was Don Juan and Man of Knowledge this morning when I posted that.
It might seem strange, but looking at the describtion of his books I don't know that I would have bought any just because I saw it on Lost.
But people might.
Who has time on their hands to track this stuff? I'd be interested to know.
Richard, Christian, Jacob- yeah they fit right in with that Men of Knowledge stuff.

@lovelost

really? A glass of OJ?
I know LSD can make people do some strange things, and we've all heard a story from a school official about LSD making someone into a veggie. But you actually know someone?
Mushrooms, I've done and I'm over them. Never wanted LSD, because it's not natural.

get freakin over it already. it's like you guys don't have lives outside of Lost or something. Geesh, just because we all enjoy lost doesn't mean we don't all have personal lives as well. Daniel has been doing this for a while, and he doesn't really have to. instead of bitching and whining about not doing this and not doing that, i don't see YOU doing your own blog and having people come over to that! like others pointed out on here, we come not only to read his blog, but also to interact with one another in the comments. so even if he doesn't get a chance to recap it the next day, those that DID see it can still interact with one another. if you don't like it, just leave! you sound like scorned little girls talking about what you're going to do...but never following thru. bet you anything some of these same morons that said they weren't coming back are reading this right now!

So what does Sawyer and Juliet just want to stay in the 70's and play house and not go back to their time?

I don't care what anybody says, this episode was awesome.

Yes BEN seriously, OJ, you would walk up to him and he would be like dont spill me man , dont spill me!! Its was freaky!!!!

Last night was a filler episode that answered several questions. ( Did the left behind Losties know Ben, where did Sayid go when he left the church, how did he end up in handcuffs on the plane?) It also showed Sayid's relationship with his dad that influenced him. I think that we are all SO ANXIOUS, or eager to find out what will happen next, that we have begun to lose patience with fillers. We just have to remember that they give us these little details for a reason (most of the time UGH-Nikki and Paulo) and that we are still moving forward. Slowly but surely. Maybe all that time jumping just makes it seem like this is taking forever LOL. Really think it is the long hiatus that we have to endure that makes us want MORE BANG FOR OUR BUCK !!

TO ALL THE WHINERS-

We are not whining, please ,you have obviously have not been reading with us long..

LOL

We always give Daniel crap!!!

and Prince ---give me a break!!!! LOL

okay, did anyone else find the weirdest thing in the scene where hurley spilled the beans about sawyer and juliet was jack's behavior and telling hurley to stop rubbing it in and talking about it b/c it bothered kate the woman that at one point jack was engaged to and just slept with before they got on 316????

@ Jenn 3 re:He's Our You I think that Oldham had the potential to do more but thought he overdosed Sayid when he started talking about being from the future.
@ CAM I agree that if Ben died, someone else would cause the purge, maybe the Losties themselves?

so it's fair to say all the surviving characters have daddy issues, yes? We may not know all the stories - but ...

Hugo... hhmm, his dad is wacky but issues? gotta ponder... or is he the only one NOT with daddy issues?

Glad I didn't rush to read this blog.

@ Ilovelost | March 26, 2009 09:14 AM

I do not give Daniel crap, in fact it irritates me every week when people complain about him. It is his blog that he does for his own pleasure. Give the man a break.

By "cop" I meant someone who would place Sayid in restraints, not NYPD. Sorry. Also, some folks may have a point: filler, while not exciting, does it's job, which is to fill in blanks. Maybe I should be more patient, because I am going to be that idiot that fusses when the series is over too quickly. You just can't please me. People have tried. (Hurry up and tell me everything, then I'll complain because it's over!!) I love this place. It's like having friends or something.

Hurley has/had Daddy issues because his dad left and only came back after he won the lottery

@Spacemonk - LMAO "It's like having friends or something." We will be your friends :)

LSD - never did it never will my friends dropped some on our Senior Class Trip to Rye Amusement Park. It was crazy. The only reason I didn't do it THEN was because we were going to a strange place with moving things. After witnessing the effects, would NEVER touch the stuff. I'm w/you fanolost on the shrooming!

I am a little pathetic. And needy. Pathetic and needy, that's me. My husband is a saint, trust me.
Oh, and I love Daniel, too. He gets all the girls, he just doesn't brag.
YIPPEE! FRIENDS!!

@cam - and thanks. So now that everyone has daddy issues... it must mean something. There's the commonality, and so, who is/will be the odd man/woman out? Des?

Or, if one can change the outcome is this the way to do it? - which one will make amends (jack?) to dad?

I'm not stating this clearly... i need to poinder.

@spacemonk - it's family, dysfunction and all... or friends...

lostlover - Rye? Really? Playland used to be 'da bomb' but it turned into quite a pit...

and Kate not "catching on" about Sawyer/Juliet wasn't so unusual. Have to remember the time frame Jack knocked on Sawyer's door the night they arrived and Juliet answered, she found out at breakfast the next day. The bus on fire was that night! BTW, I thought Sawyer was going to look for Jack, he seemed surprised when Kate answered the door, and why would they not go in the house out of view if Jack wasn't in there?

I loved last nights episode. Finally, an episode with some exciting moments.

One thing to say about Oldham.... "I'm Larry, this is my brother Darrell, this is my other brother Darrell". LOL LOL LOL LOL !!!!

I thought last night was really good but quite the tease. What a cliffhanger! What will happen with Ben I can't even venture to guess.

Jenn3 I don't think Sayid killed Jin.

Sawyer standing there before they gave sayid truth serum (when I thought they were going to torture sayid) was sooo remincent of the time when sayid tortured sawyer down to the clearing, the tree and the direction he was facing when tied to the tree!

I can't believe that Sawyer and Juliet just want along their business with a crazy little ben plotting in their midst. Is it complacent and lazy or power corrupts absolutely? as long as they are on top everything is okay?

As someone else predicted before YES hurley is in charge of food! awesome.

I think everything will continue to go wrong until the rest of the oceanic get back to the same time. I think the journey Sun and Lapidus go back to the island to pick up the kids and come back (with Lapidus flying of course) but maybe when they get back to the island there is a time difference and the kids are older now?

So many possibilities.

I understand if Daniel didn't have time because I went to a concert last night and watched it this AM with breakfast. But Prince instead of Lost as a write up? eh don't bother I don't want to read about Prince but I am interested if he can get some info for us from the lost writers.

@Spacemonk- "It's like I have friends or something", is SO RIGHT. I am the only LOST freak in my house, so this blog is like "watching" with someone else.LMAO

oops the journey for Sun and Lapidus is to go back to the mainland and return to the island with the kids.

Did anybody get a weird vibe off of Amy? Think she's working with Richard?

To All the whiners---I am with you, these people are nuts. Not to mention all of those who have personal conversations in here, this is a blog, use a phone or e-mail to check don't bother the rest of us with posts that have nothing to do with Lost, it is irritating, this thing is long enought with that crap.

I think Sawyer/Juliet/Jin/Miles all believed Daniel and so they decided not to interfere too much in things. So when they met the young Ben I am sure the thought crossed their mind but they were scared of the unknown. Sayid reacted out of his emotions.

I forgot about Sawyer asking Kate why she came back. She didn't get to answer b/c of the flaming van. I bet this little talk will be revisited in another episode. Could prove quite interesting b/c she did seem to be quite "driven."

@lostinNC
Totally agree with you, Amy is up to something she just sided with Radzinsky so quickly on offing Sayid! It won`t be the end of her btw she used to be on 24 but died :(

Kate probably has a huge purpose for coming back.. I mean, she left Aaron to come back. I think we may get a Kate centric episode in the next few weeks...

POSSIBLE SPOILER...
there is a future Ben centric episode named "Dead is Dead"... hmmmmmmm!!!!

@ fanolost yes and I hate to admit it but that was in end of the Dharma Days...1979! I think I went back once after that.

Seriously - doesn't everyone know someone who thinks they are a glass of OJ after too much acid? It's an urban legend. Too much obv messes people up but come on now.

Did we know that Ethan killed the Darma's along w/ Ben? I always assumed he was an other to begin with when the purge happened - wouldn't he be a teenager at that point? I think that is strange....

Since no one has given this epi a grade, guess i will do the honors B almost a c+! It just wasn`t good as i thought it could be! They better have an explosive epi again soon! I still remember the day after `the constant` I was on cloud nine! Have not had the feeling in quite a while!

Has anyone ever posted their thought on why women die during pregnancy? Could it be a result of the purge? Something was mentioned a couple of episodes ago when Juliet delivered Ethan that perhaps the problem hadn't started yet.

I thought Amy even being in the room with Security was odd. She's very strange. Something evil about her.

spacemonk you sound like someone who reads the end of the story first because you are too impatient to let it play out.

I agree. Amy was weird last night. Why was she in the room with the rest of the Dharma Council. it was weird, let alone that she involved herself. And she was almost evil, like we have to kill Sayid because he might tell them she thinks the Hostiles are cool and that Ethan is really Richard's.

@lostinNC- I agree, something is up with Amy. She was the first one to see the Losties, so she tricked them with the fence. Everyone "believed" the lies about who they were, but she let "mechanic" Juliet do surgery on her like she knew that she was her only hope. Then she gave the big speech so they would kill Sayid (they could have just shipped him off the island on the submarine), it seems like she has some kind of agenda. But maybe not, sometimes I feel like I look for things that aren't there, other times I miss them until they show up again in another episode.

two things.

first, i thought oldham was kind of a let down. sawyer said "he's our you," but this guy was more drug dealer than torturer.

second, i've got some homework for you guys.

last night i was trying to place where i'd heard the name oldham before and i figured it out. will oldham, aka bonnie "prince" billy, aka palace music. he's a somewhat obscure musician.

he also released an album of B-Sides titled "Lost Blues and Other Songs". the last track on this album is "Lost Blues."
sadly, i can't find any published lyrics for the song, but i did my best to translate. ___ and ? mean i'm unsure of something.

don't you wanna go where things move slow
give me a little time to take what i know
follow the ocean line, follow the flow
give me a little time to take what i know
oh, and he's calling. but i do not answer.
i am hunting for the _____

and it's a hard way of walking, all i know
its a hard way of talking, all i know
don't let your guard down. and don't live far from town
follow the ocean line and follow the flow
give me a little time to take what i know
give me a little time to take what i know

ooh, lordy, lordy
i am downstairs charlie??? (this one is tough, it sounds an awful lot like they're either saying charlie or hurley, but it could be harley or something else)
and try and shush me.
but i am other? gleefully in a house made for sleeping
oh and i know milk? made of gold all that i know
i see him smile at me.
smelly and desperately?
if you only would trust me,
we would live happily.
in a house made of silver. all that i know
in a house made of platinum. all that i know
on the raft when we're ready, hold it fast, hold it steady
follow the ocean line. follow the flow
give me a little time to take what i know
give me a little time to take what i know

@lostlover - Amy is odd, and it was odd she was in on a security meeting - even if it was at her house...

*off topic* i lived around there for many years - it just got more run down - to the point I was afraid to go on rides-then of course, the deaths ...

About Amy - funny how she voted to kill the guy that would kill the guy who was later on be responsible for Ethan's death by sending him after the losties..

Amy was probably in the room because I think they were at her house. It seems that Horace was the one running the meeting.

So Dharma hierarchy:
Dr. Chang: heads up the science and research
Horace: heads up security? What about Sawyer - upper management?

Here's an interesting theory -- My brother just pointed out to me that "Jack" is a nickname for "Jacob"...thoughts?

This is what I found when I googled it.

Artist: Palace Brothers
Song: Lost Blues
Album: Lost Blues Other Songs

Don't you want to go where things move slow?
Give me a little time to take what I know
Follow the oceanline, follow the flow
Give me a little time to take what I know

Oh, and he's calling, but I do not answer
I am hunting for me now, and I must go quietly
And it's a hard way of walking, oh and I know
It's a hard way of talking, oh and I know

Oh, don't let your guard down,
And don't live far from town
Follow the oceanline, follow the flow
Give me a little time to take what I know
Give me a little time to take what I know

Oh, Lordy, Lordy, I am downstairs crying
They try and shush me, but I holler gleefully
In a house made for sleeping, oh and I know
With a mouth made of gold, oh and I know

I see him smile at me, smiling desperately
If only you would trust me, we would live happily
In a house made of silver, oh and I know
In a house made of platinum, oh and I know
Oh, hold the raft at the ready,
Hold it fast, hold it steady
Follow the oceanline, follow the flow
Give me a little time to take what I know
Give me a little time to take what I know

i might just be crazy, but these lyrics could refer to the events happening in this episode. i keep reading that line, "i see him smile at me. smelly and desperately"
and can't stop picturing lil' ben's creepy face.

there are soo many cross references i'm starting to think the writers can't be that good can some of this be strange coincidence?

I'm not sure which would ruin my night more...
missing a new episode of Lost or seeing Prince.
Personally I'd prefer having a root canal compared to those choices but anyway; have fun at the event and I'll be looking forward to your post.

Did anyone notice that Oldman was Bobcat Goldthwait? Who thought we'd ever see him on Lost?

nice job CAM, don't know why i couldn't find these.

the way i was first looking at it, picture the first half of the song as what sawyer is thinking/saying and the 2nd half is sayid.

Really, Daniel? Basketball? Getting pumped by your trainer? Prince/Leno? Left my laptop and car at work? You sound like John Belushi begging Carrie Fisher to forgive him near the end of The Blues Brothers..."It wasn't my fault I sweeeeeeeaaaaahhh tah Gaaaaaaaaahhhhhd!!"

I kid. Looking forward to your review/tips on sharing a pair of heels with Prince...

good one jacob :)

I saw a heckuva a show crystal antlers and monotonix but i'm sure nobody here or no prince fan would know who they are!

oldham was william sanderson of deadwood and newhart

Totally agree with you Suze on the Ben scenario. I had a thought about Ethan. I think baby Ethan's father might be a "hostile". Hear me out. When the show started, grown-up Ethan was an Other AFTER the apocolyspe of little Ben. So I'm wondering if before little Ben and Richard executed their plan to kill all the Dharma people if Richard knowing that Ethan's father was a hostile (one of his people) they somehow saved Ethan and that's how Ethan came to grow up and not die that day. Also, his mother (cant remember her name) was pretty forceful about killing Sayid. Maybe she was afraid Sayid was there to take the baby back to his father's people. Also, there have been a lot of themes throughout this whole show; Ethan's mom and a "hostile" falling in love would be parallel to a Romeo and Juliet theme. There is nothing random in this show.

At the meeting, Horace seemed like he could go either way and looked like he was wanting not to kill Sayid...but it was Amy pacing with the baby and talking about not sleeping that sealed Sayid's fate with that group.

I'm a big Sayid fan and I kept screaming at the TV all night wanting Sawyer to do the right thing and help him.

@ lostsister: I've never heard of "Jack" being a nickname for "Jacob" -- usually "Jake" is used. "Jack" can be a nickname for "John" though. I always figured they named these characters this way because Jack and John are so similar in personality, but they are polar opposites in the way they think.

I come here for LOST and I get... Prince? Really?
Well, thanks but no thanks. Time to move on. It's been obvious for awhile now that you've lost the love for the show.
...Prince... Really?

is this a blog for lost?really - a lot of you are exposing so much of your past. shrooms, LSD, and a guy got it wet in his pocket and thinks he's orange juice? really, where am i? 1977? :o)

and i can't believe i missed this before but roger "workman" linus is played by jon gries aka uncle rico from napoleon dynamite.

thanks toobitter. I could not remember his name on Deadwood.

Sawyer finally did help Sayid thankfully but boy he sure waited long enough couldn't he have staged a breakout before the truth serum I wouldn't take that chance of him talking.

Whether Daniel goes over the story or not - you guys are the ones who make it interesting (meaning you bloggers when I say guys). Reading everyone's theories, etc. not Daniels recap is what makes this interesting for me. So not to be mean to Daniel, but who cares if he recaps or not - as long as we all saw the episode. It's great to hear everyones theories - can't wait to see which one of you/us are right.

Thanks for the clarification on Oldham, my bad - my other brother Darrell told me that! :-)

I was more upset with ABC because I thought last night was a repeat - since they only had the one episode and I missed the first 15 minutes. Now that's who I'm mad at. :)

Sawyer TRIED to help Sayid two different times (remember this is all in like a one-day time span), but Sayid kept saying thanks, but no thanks.

It was Ben who finally broke Sayid out, that may have been Sayid's plan all along

If Farraday's idea that we cannot change the future is true, then young Ben is definitely not dead. They also mentioned that Farraday was with the Sawyer/LaFleur gang, but "he is not there anymore". Where did he go? Did he manage to "change" something?

Also, when are we going to find out about Locke and the new Ajira suvivors?

For me, this episode was a big "meh". We need more answers (especially about Christian, Jacob, Richard, Farraday...) and less repetition of what we already know. Sayid is a killer...yeah, I think we all knew that. Next are they going to tell us Jack is a doctor?

@toobitter - YES - the first few times I saw Roger, every time he would come on screen, I would wonder where Napoleon and Kip were. And then Roger would be a dick to Ben, and I would snap back to the island.

Am I the only one who thought Sayid was going to SAVE Ben from his cruel life with Roger Workman? I totally thought Sayid would empathize with Ben and try to change him from being evil Ben to good Ben and put him with the Others...no? Just me? Ok then. I blame my social work background.

@Acer-too funny. When thay say that Farraday is "not there anymore", I think they meant that he has lost it mentally. Remember when Charlotte said that she remembered a CRAZY old man from her childhood? that was Farraday.

I don't think Ben is dead. I do think this is what convinces Richard that he should be a leader (ie, that he survives the shooting). What's mind-blowing, then, is everything Ben would have known all along, about Kate, Jack, Juliet, Sayid, etc. Of course, they wouldn't know, since they eventually return to the future, missing the intervening years. Continuity issue -- in Season 1, Ben was surprised by the 815 crash (first sign of his losing leadership?). How could that be if he knew all about Sawyer, et al in the 70s? What were those *lists* (and vaccines, and random kidnappings) anyway?

So, is the coming war in the 70s or today???

I think we've witnessed the complete transformation of Sawyer. He's completed devoted to the life he's created for himself, but still manages to try to save his old friends (who he was only with for 3 months, as opposed to 3 years with Dharma). Does that mean he dies?

Random question -- why all the lipstick on young Ben? To mirror Richard's guyliner? (Yeah, yeah, I know its natural on Nestor Carbonelle, but surely not on the kid who plays Young Ben.) Maybe Locke should start wearing a little blush or something.

Why wouldn't Amy be at the security meeting? Because she's a woman? She may well be an important leader in her own right. In any case, it produced a great line -- *even the new mother wants you dead.*

Ann Arbor????

Why was Kate the only person not in a Dharma uniform? Speaking of which, if the Swan wasn't named yet, then (i) how did Radzinsky know what Sayid was talking about; and (ii) wasn't Chang wearing a Swan jacket?

Where oh where is Daniel Faraday? Gotta love the guy, gimme a good geek any day.

Ob our Daniel -- I hate when people announce they're leaving. The only purpose is that they think people will beg them to stay. Me, I'm grateful for Daniel's hard work, and enjoy reading his blog. I'll check in this weekend.

@ toobitter for you - wow! you were almost dead on! Give a girl in research a little something to work on..found this at lyricwiki.org:
Don't you want to go where things move slow?

oops, CAM you beat me too it, sorry for double post

@Acer - I'm pretty sure Farraday is "gone" in that he's sitting in the corner, rocking in his chair, with the straight-jacket at the ready. He's killed/incapacitated two women whom he loved, directly or indirectly due to time travel, so I'm thinking he's off his rocker now.

wow - LostLover - we found 2 different sets of lyrics

@acer - HA '..going to tell us Jack is a dr...'

@colleen - yes. I thought Sayid was going to kill Roger - and save Ben from going down the dark rabbit hole of killing his dad...

And if little Ben is not dead, and is not saved by a vest or some other protecting material that he used after being warned, I am going to be royally pissed.

Sayid would not not kill a target. So if we find he 'missed the heart' or whatever - then it's just lousy, lazy script-writing.

If Daniel is nutso, then why does he appear while they're building the Swan station (remember from the beginning of the season)? Of course, they did say something like *you again* so maybe they do think he's bonkers.

BTW, I think that IMDB now has Ellie from Jughead listed as *Young Eloise Hawking*

I love they way they mess with us. Sawyer the con man is security. Jin the corporate hitman is also security. Jack the doctor is a janitor. But good old Hurley is whipping up waffles in the kitchen, I love this show.

It will be interesting to see what kind of comment big Ben will make when he refers back to his shooting (and you know he will comment on it, he always does "so how did that work out for you"). I am sure it will be one that warrants "best line ever"

Looks like another Robin has joined the group ......Just wanted to clarify , I have 2 b's. Think I will change my log in to robbinwith2b's.I already said this earlier, but here it is again...... It is driving me crazy that Jin hasn't even asked one person about Sun and their baby????? I mean he has Sayid alone in the jungle, and he doesn't say a word? ARGHHH.

I think the fact that Sayid shot little Ben, might be why Ben is in a coma, too, in the present - as someone suggested.

Sawyer TRIED to help Sayid two different times (remember this is all in like a one-day time span), but Sayid kept saying thanks, but no thanks.

Posted by: okey dokey | March 26, 2009 10:03 AM

By the time Sawyer offered to help Sayid ESCAPE Sayid knew what he had to do and that was wait for Ben. Didn't you notice how sayid was standing up waiting for him? he knew he was coming!

@robbinwith2b's-- Jin went to the arrow to check all of the cameras for footage of Sun, that's when they found Sayid. I don't think that he has been alone with anyone from 06 to be able to ask them (only been one day) Sayid in the jungle was his first chance, and he got clocked by Sayid before he could ask. I agree, I would find a way to ask, but they are probably trying to play it off as being careful.

Robbin w/2 b's - I agree - no one is talking about the past 3 years - Sun and the baby, where Aaron is anything! It really pisses me off - I know those would be the first questions I asked! They have such poor communication skills!

Was anyone else wishing that someone would beat the snot out of Radzinsky?

Just wondering. He jumped on my last nerve last night.

First:
RE: The guy I know who thinks he is Orange Juice
-- True Story--
I wouldn't post something about someone I know unless it was true.

CAM - first you contradict things I say about Lost, now you want to contradict things that I have seen in my life?
PLEASE!!!!

Second- Opinions are like Assholes everyone has one and everyone thinks everyone elses SINKS!!!! LOL.

So if you dont like reading about Peoples comments not regarding LOST, well here is your answer DONT READ THEM. LOL

Little Ben being shot might lead him to discovering island's power/secret, first step of being island's leader when Oceanic flight crashed.

I think Sayid didn't say those things because of the drug, he wanted to say them! to bug Sawyer? or to warn DI?

I can't imagin how I would react if I met a stranger who told me about the future/death

lets not say - Kate was in a dharma uniform just a motor pool one.

Yeah and were is Bernard and Rose, I mean when they bring them back is has to be good. They have been gone for 3 years.

Anon @10:28 was me----- I need to go back and rewatch when Jin found Sayid the first time (from the arrow) to see what was said between them before Radzinsky showed up.

whoever couldnt handle acid has a weak mind. Spit, it's yer mind, u took it, u control it!!! But i digress.
That's everyone's problem: they're their own worse enemies.. just like in lost...

maybe little ben gets surgery from someone other than jack and that effs up his spine and creates a tumor somehow. Or, cause i think it's different parallel dimesions, it little ben does die and someone else, maybe Locke will end up doing the Purge to make it happen? That's why i think Faraday is MIA, cause he knows he is in the "wrong" dimesion and isn't in control anymore and needs to get the eff out, and/or he realized cause he was in the wrong dimesion, and that he needs to get out to find Desmond... ?

Rose and Bernard couldn't be dead could they? Then they wouldn't of been in the future right? Or since this is just now happening they could be dead? Maybe they are Adam and Eve and thats why when they find Adam and Eve they are all decomposed so badly?

Just thinking outloud.

Sun hit Ben in the back of his head with an OAR. A heavy wooden OAR.
He might be in a coma from that, with or without having been shot in 1977!

nice find LostLover

i definitely prefer the lyrics you found as it sounds more pertinent to the show. the charlie thing, come on.

i've listened to the song a few more times today. the guy reminds me a lot of jeff buckley.

I love lost - maybe they have a rose & bernard episode of them flashing and dying by the waterfall and becoming the adam and eve skeletons? who knows but they can't just forget about them!

Who ever said that Ben was in a coma?? I think that after Sun knocked him out, he had to make a change of plans. He knows that Locke was on the plane, and that Locke was also not allowed to return to the island. I am sure that he is plotting and scheming while he is nursing that head wound.--Go Sun !!

CAM - first you contradict things I say about Lost, now you want to contradict things that I have seen in my life?
PLEASE!!!!

What are you talking about?

OK I didn't Write That

Asshole --anonymouser!!!!

I hadn't thought of Daniel being "gone" as in crazy. Interesting! Makes sense.

@isadora fiend - i'm thinking is little ben is dead it's a parralel uni to what we've been watching... and big ben has been trying to unify all the timelines... jmo

okey dokey - its just a theory i have that big ben is in a coma-like state d/t little ben being inured in the 70's. never said it was fo sho.

yep, the moniker gremlins are out and about today...

*injured

*injured

I come back after not being on here for days and I already am targeted?

Damn you to Hell anonymous copier!

wtf. double posts suck. sorry guys.

r some of u really allowed to keep this open all day while at work??? I'm SO jealous..

i read what someone said about Sawyer coming full circle and it scared me!!! Full circle means u effin die! Shannon, Boone, Eko, Micheal ect. we see they're whole back story and they end up, thur many different ways, becoming "free" of the past and spit that happened in their life "before" the island, and then they die.. wait, what about Anna Lucia? Eh, there's so mnay webs, its liek a bajillion degrees of seperation.
So my "theory", which is just my idea, with the whole dimension thing, that could explain why we see Christain in a suit, so Jack might have seen Christain when someone Christian got to the island? Hurley sees his friend from teh aslym on the island, and the guy that told Hurley the #s that made Hurley win the lottery, heard it from ww2 japanese propaganda, so how the eff did Radzinsky know those #s? Maybe the broadcast of #s was being broadcast from the island, just a ruse or something from the "hostiles" (im on their side) to get specific people to come to the island. and u cant forget libby in the same institution. I swear if their all in some psych ward on some "mind machine" i will be so soso dissapointed. and ithink what i just posted made no sense...

How are the Losties now Dharmies going to get out of the 70's?

Does any one have theories about that?

@ Ilove lost
ok - good. I didn't think I had said anything to offend you. Someone hijacked your name to yell at me! I guess they don't like either of us.

im in class most of thursday so, needless to say i never have many notes on thursday...

@ fanolost. That's what im thinking too brutha...

So then, does that mean Whitmore is trying to do the same thing??? I'm thinking he doesn't know half of what ben knows.

ah lost.. jamacin me crazy!

superlocke to the rescue...!

Glee: I totally do that! If there is an animal in it, I will look for the last reference to it, and if it gets killed I won't read the book. I know, I am a total loser, but I like knowing the end and then seeing if they get there the same way I would. I almost always read the spoilers for movies before I see them, too. Yep, I am THAT girl. But I don't enjoy spoiling it for other people. That's mean.
I totally forgot about the line from Sawyer about going 3 years with no burning buses until they show up.
If the island heals lil' Ben, does that give him the idea that he is important to the island or something? Or is the island not The Island, yet? I mean, has it done anything spooky in the 70's? The people are kooky, though.

I am on the Ben is not Dead bandwagon. If he would have died wouldn't all the Losties immediately flash back to 2007 on the island with the Dharma Initiative. Ben is the reason Dharma is dead, Ben is the reason the freighter came, Ben is the reason the Losties got off and Ben is the reason they got back on the island.

On a side note, did anyone else notice that Bens dad is the uncle from Napolian Dynamite?

well christian obviously knows it is possible. he told sun it was a long journey. hmm maybe she has to climb a rainbow and twist a cloud to get back in time. JK!
locke has to be a part of the bringing it all back together. he is committed to his peeps that's fo sho
jack will save ben somehow ...again
jin is knocked out. not dead
wow those DI are a little bloodthirsty there. kneejerk reaction anyone...kill EM! guess they didn't believe in the golden rule.
as for no babies for hostile/others i still think they are like way old like juliet said their uterus' are like 70 year olds. richard doesn't age externaly but maybe internally there is something off kilter. but some of them did get preggo but couldn't get past 2nd trimester. gotta be something about these ancient folks and how the island ages you in the space time contingency.
love them utilizing actors from all genres

Yeah Cam it seems like me and you get targeted the most : (

people have nothing better to do, then act stupid!

Has anyone ever wished that they could go back and change some event from their past? I bet that everyone wishes that they could change some event that was unpleasant or that led to something ugly happening. I got to thinking about why so many people were so interested in going back to the island, and I thought that maybe they figured out that there was a time loop and they kept trying to go back to "fix" things or change things that they didn't like. Ben, Widmore, Farraday, Christian, Locke, I beleive all know about the time issue, and all of the other 06 just got sucked into the time thing when they returned to help the left behind Losties. Maybe the numbers helped keep the time loop closed or somehow helped protect the island from self-serving time manipulators. Perhaps this time loop has occurred multiple times in the past, and someone (Jacob or Richard, or heck, who knows, maybe Hurley) is trying to correct it. If you could go back in time, you could get the lottery numbers and change your life,eh Hugo !! Oh well, just a mindless ramble (probably how they came up with this show)

So the woman who got Sayid on the plane, she didn't work for Widemore Correct?

She worked for the guys family he (Sayid) killed on the golf course?

Did anyone mention the book that Ben gave Sayid...A Seperate Reality by Carlos Castaneda..I never read it but am sure it has something to do with what Ben is all about or what is going on on the Island

Ilovelost - thought hat other post didn't sound like you! re: Ilana - thats what she said, but I'm not sure I buy it. Didn't Ben tell Jack to leave it to him, he'd get the rest there? My memory might be making that up. But regardless I think it is still possible that she works for one of them.

I think young Ben set the bus on fire so he could save Sayid.

I too think shifty eyes Amy is up to something someone mentioned she didnt want the hostiles to take her baby and thinks Sayid is there for that purpose hmmmm me too

The DI acts like a crazy cult and I really dont like Sawyers MO of just go w/the flow. I want my rebel back.

Also when big Ben wakes up he will have the memory of Sayid shooting him...Whats he gonna do

A Separate Reality is about mind altering plants and their ability to help you SEE things that you wouldn't otherwise see.

Question: Did Leno spin the time warp wheel? Is Daniel really Penny? Perhaps Prince is Widmore and Syracuse is Ben? Lets hope Oklahoma is Sayid and caps Syracuse tonight.

Come back to the island Daniel. Your people need you.

What is Ben gonnna do when he wakes up? It's more like whats Locke gonna do when Ben wakes up?

Hopefully Locke will not be as easily persuaded this time around, or else I will not like his character anymore!

@Ilovelost
She worked for the guys family he (Sayid) killed on the golf course?

You are correct.

@Goldilocks-"When Ben wakes up he will have the memory of Sayid shooting him"--that's right, Desmond woke up with a memory when Farraday changed something in the past. He didn't remember it until he woke up in the present time off of the island even though the event happened in the past ON island. So maybe Ben will have that memory now when he wakes up in the present time on the OTHER island.

@okey dokey

That's great. I hadn't thought of it that way.

http://www.doyletics.com/art/asrart.htm...A site where the book Ben gave Sayid is discussed

@ Jeffo | March 26, 2009 11:17 AM

Hahahahaha! LMAO!!!

I believe that Eloise Hawking sent the woman after Sayid. Who else would know about the flight, and the importance of Sayid being on it? The woman (name?) is a hired gun, hired by Eloise because Ben failed to get everyone together.

Give up the blog man. Its been sucking this entire season, and obviously you don't care any more. Stop wasting our time checking to see if you actually give a crap each week.

oakey dokey thats exactly what I was thinking and knowing Ben we can only imagine what he will do

sorry okey

Did anyone notice where Jack came from when the fire broke out? Maybe he was part of the plan to help Sayid escape?

@Robin - it would drive me crazy about Jin not asking about his wife and baby, too, but that seems to be the norm on Lost. I was shocked when no one asked Ben what happened to him when he was beat down and no one asked Kate about Aaron. So therefore, nothing shocks me on this show - anymore.
And yeah - I think Jack will be the one to save BEN, again.

http://www.babynamer.com/jacob

I just looked it up and Jack IS a nickname for Jacob!

Like a lot of us, I am a little disapointed w/no diary from Daniel too.

However, there are so many different sites out there w/re-caps and blogs, and well worth your time to check out.

I also think there will be way more to this episode (after reading some of those recaps)then most of us are thinking.

I posted earlier, I don't think Ben died or can die- @ least not yet, when that day comes....I can't think of that today, I'll think about that tommorrow (That's my inner Scarlett)-LOL

About Jin not asking about Sun and Baby?

Its only been two days since they got there. And Jin seems to be always out looking for here,as soon as he heard that she was back he took off to look for here, Like last night when he was out probably looking for here to the real DI didn't find her first and he saw Sayid. Who is he gonna ask anyway Jack and Kate and Hurley don't know where she is. He'll have to keep her hidden anyway!

Okey-dokey - funny you should mention being bored with the fillers. I used to fast-forward past them in the previous season's and then when I read about the characters on Lostpedia - I said to myself "I don't remember that". Then I went back and started watching the seasons, again, for the fillers and it was like watching LOST all over for the first time. I really enjoyed them - THEN. But first, all I wanted to know was - WHAT HAppens on the ISLAND. LOL
Sorry about all the post one after the other - I guess I'm a little late for the actual conversations. That's why I'm reading everything and then posting my opinion - like anyone cares or will see them.

Amy was real quick to vote to have Sayid killed because she is afraid of him. Why is she soooo afraid of him? Because she knows that he is not a Hostile, because SHE is a hostile. I posted last week that I believed that she and/or Paul were Hostiles sent by Richard to infiltrate DHARMA when they arrived, just as Ben sent the Others when flight 815 crashed.

(1) I agree with a lot of the previous posts, I don't trust Amy.

(2) I liked mini Ben. I was actually sad when he got shot. I felt so bad for him and how his father treated him. He just wanted to be loved!

(3) I still like Sawyer and Juliet together. He's very sweet with her.

(4) Horace REALLY bothers me. I can't figure it out...maybe it's his hair that's the problem? I didn't mind him before this season. Now he's annoying.

(5) laughing at Larry with brothers Darryl and Darryl...he looked familiar but I couldn't place him.

um, ok that's it. I'd give the episode a B-.

not like people care about my grade though.

Nicole--

Love that Theory makes sense too!!!

nicole - I like that theory.

@Nicole-- bet you are right about Amy being a hostile, makes sense, a hostile spy!!

@ tg | March 26, 2009 11:44 AM

We care and we read them! In fact, now that reruns are on SciFi - I like watching the old episodes, looking back you find what you missed the first time around.

I love the lil tripping TP Oldham lives in.

Nicole- It also explains why They took Pauls body because he was one of them from the begining. But why there were going to Kill both and Amy and Paul I do not get.

But yes Both Amy (I think she does) and Ethan survive the Purge which doesn't make sense, since its only ten or so years away Ben and Ethan couldn't end up becoming friends to much of a age gap. So Amy has to be in with the hostiles?

there are also old episodes on ABC Sunday evenings (11:30 pm, 12:30 am central time) but I think it's part of whatever local broadcast you're around. This would be the chicago area.

@ Nicole | March 26, 2009 11:47 AM

I like this theory and that would make sense that Ethan is with the others eventually.

When I saw the tee pee, i thought of the sweat lodge Locke built for himself. Just a side note.

Also-I'm not sure what's worse:

looking @ a picture of Prince all week...or creepy little Ben last week!!-LOL :)

ssarah - NICE! Almost forgot about that!

ssarah - I thought the same thing re: Sweat Lodge-

fanolost - about the Daddy issues. I noticed, too, that everyone's parents are involved in this show. I was wondering if their parents had something to do with the Dharma Initiative in another life or time and that's their connection to the Island? I know it's far fetched - but how many shows relate to the main characters parents in a weird way. Jack's Dad appears on the Island and off - even though he's dead. Daniel's Mom is god knows who - but she is all knowing. Penny's Dad (Widmore). Kate's stepdad - (Army Man), etc. It just seems strange that we had to get the background on ALMOST everyone's parents. Sun's Dad, etc. etc. etc.

Seriously? No one cares that Jack has been confirmed to be a nickname for Jacob? :( I got pretty excited....

@Cam - So true. I'm not sure if you are talking about you care about the flashbacks or about Daniels write-ups. I can get the rundown of the episode off lostpedia or abc. Daniel made me laugh when he posted it, but if he doesn't want to - it doesn't bother me. I like everyone's posts - though, so I'll still come in this site and enjoy it - either way.

Another Orange fan. Daniel, you're alright in my book. I'll be watching them this weekend as they beat Oklahoma and then maybe UNC.

@SamIAm -
I just don't see that Jack and Jacob could be anything like the same person. Jack is blah and Jacob is, well... Jacob.
Maybe they are related as in ssarah's theory.

maybe the hostiles weren't going to kill Amy, Sawyer and company walked into something that they misunderstood perhaps. Hopefully we will find out in a future episode what was really going on that day. Why would Amy and Paul have gone on a picnic in hostile territory anyway, it doesn't make much sense. Something is definitely wrong with this picture.

Lovelost - I love your statement about when Ben wakes up - more like what is Locke going to do. LOL
He lets Ben mess him up everytime. LOL

Regarding Rose & Bernard, they could be dead. Remember the episode in which Sawyer announced where they should all meet, and then was attacked by Others? The Others mentioned that they heard the plan, and killed their friends. Thus, that could be the last we hear of Rose & Bernard.

Although we know they don't always tell the truth, the producers gave an interview in which they stated that Rose & Bernard's story line is done. Make of that what you will...

Also RE: Rose & Bernard, those producers said in the same interview that the skeletons found in the cave ('Adam & Eve') were not Rose & Bernard.

Again... the producers sometimes obscure the truth... make of it what you will...

Jack is also a nickname for John - perfect example in JFK. Personally, that's why I'm not too excited about it.

Also RE: Rose & Bernard, those producers said in the same interview that the skeletons found in the cave ('Adam & Eve') were not Rose & Bernard.

Again... the producers sometimes obscure the truth... make of it what you will...

But that's not to say it isn't a good find...I never heard of that before...

Maybe putting the bag over her head was some kinda of Other Wedding Ritual .... Or maybe she has been an Other the whole time and has been spying, but Paul didn't know, but she fell in love with Paul and gave him the ankh necklace to protect him (the Others once they saw it wouldn't hurt him) and then .... next on Days of Our Lives....ha ha ha I guess I got a little carried away there.

@ilovelost - golf course guy worked for Widmore - so if the chick is working for the 'family' it could be inferred that it's Widmore. But I don't remember her saying family.

lol. well thank you for the reassurance atleast. :)

It kind of sucks they said Rose and Bernard's story line was done. I still find it a bit interesting that Rose knew about Locke's secret, she was "healed" of cancer - or so we assume AND she was the one to mention that the island made Jack get sick - as no one else was the entire time.

But I can understand why we're "done" with them. Like I said, just think it kinda sucks, seeing as she had some insight into the island without seemingly having connections like our other LOSTies.

no prob SamIAm - it sounded like I was kinda rude and I definitely didn't want to come off that way, cause I didn't mean it like that.

I think the whole nickname thing is because you don't hear a lot of names like that anymore. Like my name was the most popular for some years, and I don't hear of many people naming their daughters Sarah anymore.

Double posts are annoying. Sorry!

@Nicole

Really like your theory. I thought there was something off about Amy, too. The first thing that clued me in was the way she accepted Juliet's help while in labor. Of course she was in pain and probably sounding funny from that, but the way she said "I want her" -- well, it seemed as though she KNEW. But I didn't follow it through enough to theorize that she was an Other. My original thoughts were that somehow she has been clued-in over the years. By whom, I don't know.

I agree ssarah. I feel liek we shoulda at least got to see them die. I mean we got to see Nikki and Paulo die (kinda) and Frogurt.. Rose and Bernard were definitely way more important than we just have to imagine they died.

@Michele - Which interview was this? Because I thought the interview said the R&B story line was NOT done, and that they wouldn't NOT resolve R&B. At least, they would go back and show R&B getting hit with arrows...but I don't think they're done. I think we'll find out that R&B and probably more from that crew have assimilated into the Hostiles.

@Jenn3--LMAO at the DOOL reference. This is like a giant soap opera, they have love triangles, doctors, and lawyers, oh wait, no lawyers, they just torture or kill anyone that they disagree with LOL , and everyone seems to have something to hide.

okey dokey - Ben = Stefano?

@ssarah

Keep in mind, the producers have been known to lie. OOPS... I mean, obscure the truth. Ha.

So who knows what to believe when they say anything?

true, true...

I loved, loved last night's episode! I felt like I knew that Sayid was going to kill little Ben, but my jaw dropped when he actually did it!

Daniel, I love you, however you may be waiting forever to watch Lost, because you said you were going to wait until the Orange went into the Elite 8. Not going to happen! BOOMER SOONER!

OK, if we're working on different timeline/universe theories - and Ben can go between (and maybe others too) - could Jacob be 'fading' and asking for help because in his timeline - something has gone seriously wrong? But he's still mysterious and powerful enough to cross another zone to get help?

So maybe the losties in '77 have been the catalyst to Jacob sort of becoming MIA? And Christian gets more 'seeable' and available because his timeline is increasing in power?

Did that make any sense? ya know the 'shrooms kicked in...

@ Oki and Goldi. You guys are wrong on the When Ben wakes up he will remeber thing, doesn't work that way. If it already happened to Ben then he already remebers it.

Now walk over to the blackboard and write "Desmond is different" 500 times for your punishment.

Desmond is special, he is different, his mind no longer follows a linear time path due to his experience leaving the island. So Faraday was able to convey a message to him from the past, which Desmond was able to remember as a memory.

With Ben it is the same as Widmore/Locke. Widmore had already experienced Locke walking into his camp to speak with Richard well before we were ever show Locke actually doing it. Ben already knew Sayid shot him, wake up or not he knows.

@Jenn3--Ben/Widmore=Stefano/Victor

@Colleen

It was an interview posted at http://www.sky.com/Lost

In the one I saw, they said the opposite. But again... you never know as their motives are to keep suspense and elements of surprise.

okey dokey - Just laughed out loud at work. That was great!

From Wikipedia:

Separate Reality is an allegedly non-fictional book written by anthropologist/author Carlos Castaneda in 1971 concerning the events that took place during an apprenticeship he claimed to have served with a self-proclaimed Yaqui Indian Sorcerer, Don Juan Matus, between 1968 and 1971. The authenticity of the book, along with the rest of Castaneda's series, has been a topic of debate since they were published.

In the book Castaneda continues his description of his apprenticeship under the tutelage of Don Juan, from which he had withdrawn in 1965. As in his previous book, The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge, Castaneda describes the experiences he has with Don Juan while under the influence of the psychotropic plants that Don Juan offered him, peyote (Lophophora williamsii) and a smokable mixture of what Castaneda believed to be, among other plants, dried mushroom of the genus Psilocybe. The main focus of the book centered around Don Juan's attempts at getting Carlos to See, a practice best described as, in Castaneda's own words, "perceiving energy directly as it flows through the universe".

The book contains an introduction, an epilogue and two separate parts. Part One, "The Preliminaries of 'Seeing'", describes his re-initiation into the apprenticeship from which he withdrew in late 1965, and also describes his introduction to another brujo (sorcerer) named Don Genaro. Part Two, "The Task of 'Seeing'", elaborates on the mental processes involved with Seeing, and begins with Castaneda realizing that the plants are a necessary tool to arrive at Seeing.

Some thoughts: 1)Could Sayid's shooting of little Ben been a hallucination? or 2)Did the book that little Ben gave Sayid help Sayid "see" (as referred to above), his purpose for returning to the island, and that's why he shot little Ben? 3)Has Sayid been Ben's apprentice or is Ben Sayid's apprentice?

@Bo--Desmond IS different, I guess since they have deprived us lately (how many weeks without him? We are ready for more Des, want to know what happened at the harbor!!) I thought that maybe things would happen for Ben the way that they happened with Desmond, --WE SHALL SEE !!

@Cam - oh I had to read my old posts to find out what you meant. Sorry for all the confusion I've probably caused you and thanks for caring. :)

Oh and this isn't the first time that there's been a connection to LSD and apprenticeship/servitude. The character of Richard Alpert was named for a real life guy...

From Lostpedia:

The real-life Dr. Richard Alpert (aka Ram Dass) is a noted psychologist and Hindu spiritualist. In 1963, he was dismissed from Harvard University for his research (in collaboration with Timothy Leary, Aldous Huxley, Allen Ginsberg and others) into psilocybin, LSD-25, and other psychedelic chemicals. He later traveled to India, where he was given his Hindu spiritual name "Ram Dass", which translates as "Servant of God". Alpert wrote of his experiences in an unusual tome entitled Be Here Now, and founded the Hanuman Foundation. See Bio and Wikipedia entry. Damon Lindelof confirmed that the character of Alpert was indeed named after a famous person. [1]
Richard Alpert's colleague Aldous Huxley wrote a book called Island, which has been referenced in Lost, most specifically with regard to the Pala Ferry; Pala is a Utopian island in Huxley's book.

LostinLost "The real-life Dr. Richard Alpert (aka Ram Dass)"

Ethan Goodspeed/Ethan Rom = Ethan Ram Richard is the baby daddy?

Ok...sorry if this has been posted but I am at work and can't read all of the posts right now but.. Am I the only one that thinks Ben was SUPPOSED to be shot? He got shot in the chest area and with that dimwit of a doctor that they have, if Jack (who I hate) will not help young Ben, then it would make sense that when dimdoc operates to save him that he would either mess up in some way or leave a fragment in Ben close to his spine. Ben's "tumor" showed up 2 days before the plane crashed. So, if the plane had never crashed, would he have developed the tumor? Does that even make sense??????

Lucky Amy if Richard is here baby daddy ....yummmy!!!! I would love me some guyliner man!

I see people wondering why the connection between Sayid and LSD Oldham because Oldham didn't torture Sayid.

That's not what the connection was.

Sayid's job was to get information out of people. The way he did that was to torture them until they talked.

Oldham's job was also to get information out of people. He just chose to do it in a different way - mind altering drugs.

End result is the same. Method of getting there is different.

Ok, forgive me if someone already mentioned this, but...

Back a season or so ago, where they showed the pit of Dharma skeletons, was it there we saw the skeleton with the 'Workman' badge on the uniform, or was that when the skeleton of Ben's dad was found? Anyways, when I saw Jack get the 'Workman' (Janitor) uniform last week it just gave me chills!

Just had a quick thought...

If Ben can't hear Jacob, how did he get orders from him?

Posted by: Anonymous | March 26, 2009 12:39 PM was me.

Chris -Ben can hear Jacob, He was talking to him in the cabin with Locke, Its was Jacob who said something he didn't want Ben to hear and only spoke to Locke when they left.

now if we're all on this mind-bending, altering trip... could this whole experience be one huge woodstock gone island? Is there a purple haze over the place?

No. That doesn't work - cuz then I can't figure out the 3 years for the off-island group. Detox?

@ Chris - I think Ben can hear Jacob. He was just surprised that Locke could also hear him.

@betheaux - I was stuck on this last week. Locke got the map from Horace's body (as confirmed on lostpedia) and my memory keeps suggesting to me that Horace's worksuit in the Pit said workman, but I couldn't find a screen cap. I posted some of the dialogue last week, probably around in the first 300 post. Anyway the episode was Cabin Fever

must type faster.

(Better late than never...)

RE: Ethan helping with the Purge. If he was born in '77 and the Purge happens in '92, he would be about 15.

We already know the Others/Hostiles are sticklers for kids- My guess is they take him in before the Purge, not as a prisoner but as one of them. (As they did with the kids on the Tail Section of Flight 815).

This would also jive with Nicole's theory that Amy is a spy- They would want to save Ethan pre-Purge, regardless.

@Anonymous
Why IS Ethan's last name Rom when his parents last name is Goodspeed? Was that ever mentioned? Great catch.

there are a lot of uniforms that say workman, you don't know whose that was in the pit.

Well, I was waiting for LSD to popup some where, since Richard Alpert did research on and was an advocate of LSD,along with Timmothy Leary in the sixties. He goes by the name Ram Dass now. Can't wait for Sawyer to use that on Richard or Oldham.
On the time theories, I remember something from some other sci-fi show or movie, that time is like a river, and if you do something that changes something in the past, a stream or tributary breaks off the river, and you get an alternate life or timeline.

By the way, there is also
Spooner Oldham,of the Muscle Schoals studio band.
He is being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the sideman catagorythi year.

ALSO...

Ethan Rom = Other Man

Always found that one interesting. :)

CAM - lostpedia says e got it off of Horace's body in the pit. I meant that I for some reason thought that Horace's jumpsuit in the Pit said workman, but like I said, I couldn't find a screencap, but regardless of what the suit said, it was Horace's skeleton, at least according to lostpedia.

LaXy - thanks, but I didn't figure out the last name thing, someone else did under the last post. but I can't remember who...sorry....but yeah it says it on lostpedia

@okey dokey. so if big ben wakes up to remember sayid shooting him as a child, will he also wake up and remember interactions with Sawyer,Kate,Juliet, gin etc. - those that have been there the last 3 years interacting with him as a kid? OR is he already aware of interacting with them as a child in his current 2007.

@Michele - According to the 2/4/08 audio podcast, they said that R&B did not die in the flaming arrow attack. I guess it could be that their story will end soon, but I think Darlton will explain the how to us in the future.

@Jenn3... It's the damn refresh button. I swear I hit it & twenty new posts show up... Haha.

@Jenn3 - Yeah! I agree that one was Horace but someone said something about Jack and the workman suit... that is what I was not comfortable with!

Amy's going to die. Nothing to base it on. Just a prediction. Maybe cuz I can't see Ethan killing his mom, as unlikeable as he is.

And, this is probably pretty minor, but did anyone else notice that the name of one of the boats in the harbor where Sayid decided to walk away from the plan to return to the island was...Illusion? Also the Castaneda book Ben gave him was published as a non-fiction but has since remained controversial for it's legitimacy.

Anyway, I believe Ben was genuinely surprised to see Sayid on the Ajira, even disappointed. I am starting to think more and more that Ben really did not want him to come back to the Island. Ben manipulated ALL of the returnees. He used Locke's death for Jack, and to get Hurley accessible. He strong-armed Kate through Aaron, and lied to Sun about Jin. But he really just used Sayid to kill off some enemies. I'm not convinced he did anything to get him back. I mean, why did Sayid's would-be hospital assassin have Kate's address? Because Ben gave it to him!

Also, Richard Alpert, 70's, acid truth serum, dystopias...all these nods to Huxley and his Island...nice.

@ LaXy | March 26, 2009 01:14 PM

I hear ya, I read and then think of something to write, post it and like 5 other people have said it in the time it takes me to read.

@ CAM - oh okay :)

Here's a quote from A Seperate Reality (the book lil Ben gave Sayid) that I think says a lot about big Ben. "You must act like a warrior. One learns to act like a warrior by acting, not by talking. A warrior has only his will and his patience and with them he builds anything he wants. You have no more time for retreats or for regrets. You only have time to live like a warrior and work for patience and will ."

The book also talks about Men of Knowledge, is that another category we haven't thought about (Men of Science vs Men of Faith)?

@Anonymous

I checked Lostpedia to see if there was an answer to the question I sent you. Turns out, Lostpedia classsifies this question as one that is "unanswered"

Why IS Ethan's last name Rom when his parents last name is Goodspeed? Was that ever mentioned? Great catch.

Go to LOSTPEDIA and search DHARMA BOOTH VIDEO and read the transcript...some interesting stuff..Faraday is heard in the backround and LaFleur is mentioned

And the "I will call Ann Arbor" is speaking about Candle or whatever his name is...He was a professor there

@Barb - THANK YOU. I couldn't figure why Ann Arbor... now it makes sense.

I don't believe Faraday is out of his mind, yet. I think he's very much involved with the station (forget name) with the transporter in it.

So we've got a church in LA, Portland, Ann Arbor, and at least one portal on island. Anyone want to figure if coordinate of these adds up to recurring numbers?

@fanolost: you never make any sense. sorry.

I don't know what big Ben will/won't remember when he wakes up, but THAT one fact will be very telling as far as how everything in the past will effect the present. That being said, I wouldn't put it past Ben to be deceptive about what he knows, or has known all along. --chills--

@Barb: cool video. Thanks. I'd love to know why a group of people who can manipulate time, etc. can never seem to make a decent video tape though. LOL.

@Suze- how true!

Hi All.

Wounded Lil Ben will, I bet, be attended upon at some point by not only Dr. Jack but Dr. Juliet too, and that's when Lil Ben develops his crush on her. My guess.

What does anyone think about this interesting item - please read on - According to Lostpedia regarding The Lamp Post: In the 1960s, an as yet unnamed individual gained access to the Island via The Lamp Post. Makes me wonder if that 60s person could be teepee dwellin'/ mind bendin' Oldham? This individual's finding of the Island supposedly provided a pathway for DI to come in. One wonders.

yep, always thought amy was a hostile. Out on the island with some picnic with Paul. im sure Paul and her are hostiles.

Also, I want to apoloigize to anyone that read anything i ever posted and said "wft??" cause until tonight i never had the internet at home, only at work, and they are the National Socialist party when it comes to being online. Literally a minute over yer lunch time u get bitched at so... i apoligize for many incoherent, misspelled (like super eff up) rambling words and all that jazz, when i have the time, ill actually make sense

I think the real men that created/experimented/used LSD was on to something with "out of body" "out of mind" thinking. but square a mofos knew that the average person is an idiot and will think if they take acid they're an effin glass of oj.. what u meant to say was "when yer on acid, if u take vitamin c it makes the experience more intense." if u really thought u were a glass of oj.. a drank u so fast..

Off Topic

To Dee: St Aug is a nice place, isn't it? Things are OK here - hope OK too in Orlando. We are kinda dry now like the rest of FL. Here's to hoping for some rain for all of us that need it.

@isadora: huh? i thought you promised to make more sense from now on.

@ um... sorry im drunk..
someone was saying they took acid and thought they were a glass of orange juice, and i said if they were, i would have drank them so effin fast cause vitamin c enhances the trip..
but yer right i make no sense right now. sorry

ha ha! been there. no worries.

I must argue against those defending Daniel's neglect of his blog. People blog so they will get read. That said, once you have as many readers as he has on the topic of a tv show's weekly episodes he at some point should have started feeling some sort of obligation to stay on top of things for his readers. All I'm saying is he is either not doing it consistently because he doesn't get paid or he's not doing it consistently because he doesn't care that much about his readers. Either way, kind of sad how everyone is sticking up for him.

One more thing...if he didn't like people reading his blog then he would write a diary instead. So basically he was doing it for others to read.

@Barb, we learned from Dr Marvin Candle/Halliwax in the Pearl and Swan orientation films that in 1970, Gerald and Karen (doctoral candidates at the University of Michigan) founded the DHARMA Initiative. (At that time they were backed by Danish industrialist and munitions magnate Alvar Hanso and his Hanso Foundation. The alleged purpose of the Initiative was to create "a large-scale communal research compound where scientists and free-thinkers from around the globe could pursue research in meteorology, psychology, parapsychology, zoology, and electromagnetism." That’s the Ann Arbor connection and that's why Radzinsky was threatening to call Ann Arbor, he was going over Horace’s head and ratting on him to senior management, the deGroots. I thought that was a great line of dialogue, what a weasel. My theory is that Radzinsky didn’t commit suicide. I think Kelvin had enough of his whining and decided to silence him with a shotgun. Can you imagine being stuck the hatch with him for nine years???

Sorry, that was Gerald and Karen deGroot, left off the last name. Need to eat some dinner. Mind weak.

SHEW! I thought I missed something - I just got to pull the site up cuz Ihave a life n all - Ben can't be dead. & Sawyer is about to break Juliette's heart...even Kate knows it - won't even look at him in the eye!!

I

LOVE

LOST!!!!!!

I am finding it so hard to believe that Horace and the other Dharma guys would dismiss Sayid saying he is from the future so easily. Are they all totally out of the loop on the time travel properties of the island?? What do you guys think??

of course young ben was not killed.... for the very reason that you can't travel back in time and kill hitler in 1920...MAN CANNOT CREATE A PARADOX...

Has anyone else seen ABC's Lost missing pieces?

http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/missingpieces/index?pn=index

Hey @ Linds: I was thinking the same thing about them dismissing Sayid's "story" so fast.

After all they are Dharma, or has'nt any of the time travel-time dimension stuff (that they are studying) happened yet???

And if Oldham is a "professional", he should of known just how much it took to get Sayid to talk..

Unless-they did believe part of it, hence wanting to kill him off so soon???

Roger workman was 1st a regular on Martin Lawrence's show "Martin" back in the early 90s.

Leave Daniel alone or get off! GREAT comments/theories again!

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed last night's ep. SAYID IS THE EFFIN MAN. PERIOD.

Young Ben will not die...just like Faraday said way back when...you can't change the past. Ben has already lived past that point, and, somehow or another, he'll be ok.

Why the hell did they HAVE to go back to the island? It can't be b/c the people left behind we in danger, b/c all was well & good when before the Aijra crash...

WHERE THE HELL'S LOCKE?

Also, I think it's safe 2 say Ben's the "bad guy." He's so manipulative...look at how he played Sayid...he's not acting in anyone's interest but his own.

I can't believe no one is on here tonight????

I just rewatched it, and I thought there would be a lot more conversation about the show!

Where is everyone??

The actor who plays Horace was in "The Green Mile" with Tom hanks

Prince? Seriously?? Maybe Daniel is in his own time warp with Faraday and it is 1985 (at least to him.)
Prince (or whatever you call him) has not been relevant for 20 years.....

Some thoughts about the episode and what it provided (which wasn't very many answers or revelations really):

Explained why Sayid was on that plane.

PERHAPS explains how Ben becomes evil psycho killer Ben. (Obviously, he will not die because of that gun shot, instead he became angrier).

Showed us that Sawyer is losing his grip of control.

Amy said something in the meeting about protecting the children... I think there is something heavy with the hostiles wanting kids. I think the problem with giving birth on the island is something that happens with the hostiles only. Remember how Richard went to recruit Juliet... he really wants his people to be able to procreate. (And let's think about this, Amy had no problems, neither did Rousseau or Clare...).

I think it was helpful for the recap of the past episodes including the clip where Ben meets Richard for the first time... why did Richard look like that? Messy hair and clothes.
When he came in to talk to Horace after the two hostiles were shot by Sawyer, Richard looked clean cut.
We know that young Ben's meeting with Richard was shortly after or before this incident.
I mean, how much does Richard travel around (time)?! Could that explain how he looks messy or clean cut sometimes?

I don't think the eyeliner thing is a joke only. I still believe that there really could be an ancient Egyptian correlation still with the whole story.

God I wish they had shown more of the 4 toed statue!

Oh and Kate so wants to get back with Sawyer!

@chuck..... dude, don't put people down for their taste in music....everyone has their own likes and dislikes in what music they listen to, and it's something that's unique to all of us... just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that everyone else has to feel the same way... try to be accepting to everyones tastes, and your life will be more peaceful...

Daniel - miss the diary, but ENJOY Prince! I'm so jealous! The first song of his I remember hearing was "Head" and my best friend - the minister's daughter - played it for me! lol
Sorry, guys, but I liked this episode! I enjoy all the little fillers in these epi's. Good thinhg Sawyer called himself LaFleur, as Sayid used the name Sawyer and no one picked it up. I TOTALLY expected Sayid to "kill" Ben, but he was such a sad little character it was both sad and a shock.
@Spacemonk - Welcome to our little support group! lol
@Jenn3 - we'll know if Ethan is Richard's when we see his eyes! lol ;)
I tend to think Ben is in a coma right now cuz he GOT WHACKED IN THE HEAD WITH AN OAR!!! haha
I think Ben sent the flaming van - good line sawyer!
Ben isn't dead IMO it's not his time. again. and again.
I'd rather a slow LOST than NO LOST!
PLEASE let Amy be the next one to get tagged. SO annoying! I thought she was a hostile too.

and @cally k.... kate is just a typical woman.... she only wants to get back with sawyer because she is jealous that sawyer is with juliet now... if sawyer was single when kate came back to the island, she would be giving him the serious cold shoulder...

Perhaps Nestor Carbonell was chosen for the role of Richard because of his looks :)

I agree I agree... BUT, when he asked her why did you guys come back? She was like I don't know why they did, I just know why I did... So... I think she's really going to put a wrench in things.

Where is Desmond...??!?! I hope he makes an appearance soon.

@CallyK - Young Ben's first meeting with Richard was shortly after he arrived on the island when he looked to be around 10 or 11.

In this episode, although Sayid said Ben was 12, he was probably more like 14 (just a hunch though, Sayid could be right).

But regardless, Ben's initial meeting with Richard was definitely BEFORE Ben gets shot by Sayid.

from Lostpedia:

In Moscow when Sayid exits outside mirrored writing "Олдхэм Фармасьютикалс" can be seen above the door which is "Oldham Pharmaceuticals" transliterated into Cyrillic

stop sticking up for Daniel.
He does not deserve your loyalty.
This is the same crap he pulled last year.
Excuse, excuse, excuse, then just vanish.
He is not into LOST at all any more.
Prince is a joke, and so is Daniel anymore.

Parents suck.
Nevermind all the "father issues", what about all the "mother issues"???
1) Aaron and Stupid Kate and Dead(???) Claire
2) Jin's baby and Sun
3) Farraday and Hawkings
4) Claire and her mom
I'm sure I'll think of more.

Also, I think Oldham was played by the actor Barry Otto who played the dad, Doug Hastings, in Baz Luhrman's Strictly Ballroom, but I couldn't find anyplace that actually gave the name of the actor who played him in last night's episode.

I liked last night's episode, really felt bad for Ben.

LOST would not be the same every week without y'all's comments!! Love them! Thanks!

Bree, Oldham is played by William Sanderson...according to Lostpedia. Loved Strictly Ballroom, though!

Donde esta Daniel's work ethic? Seems to have been missing for about a season and a half. Get your shit together, dude. People want to read what you have to write. If you don't feel a responsibility to your readers, find a different business.

@Bree- I agree with your list about mother issues - all except one. What issue does Daniel have with his mother? He hasnt talked about her except to tell Desmond to go see her. And as far as we know, he hasnt seen her in a while.

re: "Ben is not really dead."

I don't read spoilers or hit the other Lost sites, but my TV Guide's summary of next week's Lost states, "Kate tries to save young Ben's life."

Which makes you wonder. Sayid is a professional killer, and a good one. Doesn't make sense that he would botch a killing that was this important, and personal, to him.

Um, I do believe our fearless leader, Daniel, has a JOB, and that said job may require him to do something besides watch Lost. So, as far as "work ethics" go, back off. As I understand it, he started this IN ADDITION to his normal duties, and it just took off. So, please don't attack him because you are feeling neglected. This is a happy place. *You know, with all the talk to spooky smoke monsters and killers and nasty double crossing manipulators and fire buses. Happy!* We are all disappointed when the recap isn't here, but somehow we persevere. Maybe you should suck it up and drive on, soldier. Remember, Happy Place! Negativity doesn't belong here. Unless it's mine. That would be different.

WELL PUT Spacemonk!

It would be nice if this were a happy place, however, that is certainly not the case. It should be a fun light-hearted place to share opinions about a fictional TV show (which I LOVE), but still a fictional show. There are times when certain individuals feel the need to attack people about their opinions. There are certain people who also think they are the supreme rulers of this site, but are so negative and belittle others for opinions. I am NOT a "hater". I am just a person trying to enjoy a fun site about a show I love. Please lighten up. EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion without being treated rudely.

anonymous @ 7:11. I think Kate went back to the island because of something to do with Aaron. She was intimidated into going back. What other explanation is there for her being so against going back and then changing her mind in less than 24 hours?

When do I get to be Supreme Ruler? Do I need to apply for that? Is there a vote, or does it require a hostile takeover. I can do hostile. I don't do chores, however.
So, when did the island start healing people and having smoke monsters and hosting Jacobs and such? I keep getting the feeling that that isn't going on, yet. OK, there's SOMETHING about the island, but not all the "wooo wooo creepy" stuff from recent history. The 70's seem goofy, but not spooky. Savvy?
Now, let's all be nice, or I'll release the attack cats. (They are fierce.)

I loved how Sayid desperately asked Ilana...are you sure this plane is going to Guam? Kind of fits with Lapidus' statement, 'we're not going to Guam, are we?'

What I am having trouble with at the moment is how EVERYTHING went 360 with Sawyer (I mean...LaFleur - people, if you have not been watching the Lost Untangleds, please please do, they are HIGH-larious! And the one for the most recent episode had me in tears laughing so hard)...anyway, where was I? Oh yes, Sawyer/LaFleur was hell bent on waiting for John to come back with the O-6. I still DEMAND to know what on earth happened to make him change and settle comfortably in Dharmaville?? Then, he asks Kate why they came back??? Has he been sucking the sugar cubes?? Do you think he just resigned himself to the fact that they were not returning and therefore settled into his happy little life as Dharma security?

@ Spacemonk

I am anonymous from 5:15 am.
LOL !!! You are funny and witty and I appreciate your humor. Thanks.

I vote for Spacemonk as Supreme Ruler.

Maybe Sawyer has just found the (strange) stability he's never had in his life. Someone mentioned "playing house", and I think that is it. He is "playing normal". Not acting, necessarily, just pretending this is normal. He is a trusted member of society, he has a woman, a house, a job, "friends" of a sort, and life is good, for once. That should make him happy and sugar-cube sucking nice for awhile, at least. Of course, it could also be his "ultimate con", being regular Joe for awhile. Anyway, people change with their circumstances. He basically got a clean slate with Dharma and the 70's. And no Jack. He doesn't have to fight for alpha male status, because the Dharma Dorks are... dorks. Even if he isn't Supreme Leader, he is alpha. (In my head that is possible, so sorry if it doesn't make sense.)

Spacemonk...makes COMPLETE sense. But I am still curious as to what happened after that two week waiting period that Horace gave him to 'locate the rest of his people.'

...and that's why we watch the show! To find out!

@Spacemonk - love your posts this morning! I agree about Daniel. Also, supreme ruler is quite a title! You can have it :)

If Amy IS a hostile....

Perhaps that is the reason that she was able to give birth on the island without dying...

Maybe only the "true" island inhabitants can have babies without complications...

Thought?

"Dharma dorks" LOL Okay, I second the motion for Spacemonk as Supreme Ruler with a complete pass on chore duty (we will leave those to the dharma dorks.)

Kinda off topic, but we have to lighten up the mood here! Farrely Brothers (Something About Mary) announced they are remaking the Three Stooges as a movie with Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, and Benecio del Torro. Who are your nominees for the LOST Three Stooges. My vote:
Moe (serious mean one)- Ben
Larry (wisecracker)- Sawyer
Curley (looney tunes)- Hurley

What's yours????

Thank you, kind friends. (giggle!! Friends. How cool) One question: is Supreme Ruler a paying gig? I could use a job.

Yes, I think Amy is more than a Dharma Dork. She may just have a new mom's concern for the children, but there is something...else. A Hostile plant? (Not like an Attack Daisy, but a Richard's minion in disguise.) She has the same vibe Juliet had at first. Not right.

I like your stooges, but Jack's kind of a stooge at times, too. And Locke. Maybe we could do the 7 Stooges, so Locke and Jack can just keep poking each other in the eye and pounding each other on the head. Also, Jin could be the Harpo Marx of the Stooges, since he's quiet. That leaves room for a random stooge. Charlie!! Resurrect Charlie as the Seventh Stooge. (Sounds almost mystical!) OK, I should get a hobby...

@Spacemonk- Let me get this straight, you want to be the Supreme Ruler and get paid for doing nothing (no chores)? Sorry, but I think George Bush severely lowered the chances for anyone else getting that gig.

Spacemonk, okay, but if you are going with seven, lets do seven dwarfs and make Kate Snow White.

Supreme Ruler is an honorary title only - no compensation. But it looks good on a resume!

Spacemonk - you are HIL-AR-IOUS this morning. The board definitely needed the comic relief.

I've been thinking about the Ben/Sayid dynamic of this episode. The more I think about it, and I read part of the transcript on lostpedia (they don't have the whole thing up yet) that first scene where Sayid meets Ben after killing the last guy...It really seems like he was looking for approval from Ben almost like a son looks for approval from his dad. when Ben said good job, that was the last one BYE, its almost like Sayid felt like he was abandoned by his dad. anyone else get that vibe?

@Spacemonk- Let me get this straight, you want to be the Supreme Ruler and get paid for doing nothing (no chores)? Sorry, but I think George Bush severely lowered the chances for anyone else getting that gig.

Posted by: Anonymous | March 27, 2009 06:26 AM

THAT WAS AWESOME!

You may be right about W, darn his hide. Oh, well. Good thing I have a fall back plan : Head Cat Herder and Husband Antagonizer. The pay is not so good, but the challenges are many, and the benefits are spectacular.

What do you mean George Bush lowered the chances for anyone else to get that gig? PrezBo isn't doing anything except spending money we don't have & he's getting paid!

Does that make Juliet Rose-Red? Or is that too "out there"?

Jenn3: YES!!!!!! Like he doesn't know how to be on his own, without purpose. He needs a leader or a father figure. Good call!

@Jenn3- What did Ben once tell Juliet, that he looks to see what motivates people and then exploits it. I think Ben perfectly read Sayid's personality as "killer" and decided to use that to get back at Widmore. Kills Nadia, to provide the motivation. (I guess we will learn whether Ben remembers being shot by Sayid, that's been debated here the last two days, but I suspect he will. If he does remember, it just reinforces his knowledge of what makes Sayid tick.) My sense was that the killing fills the void in Sayid's life left by Nadia's death, and when Ben yanks away the opportunity to kill some more, Sayid's life is empty again. But I suppose it could be an seeking for approval as well, if you go back to the first story in epi when Sayid kills the chicken. Was his motivation to please Dad or to help a sibling or did he do it just cause he was good at it?

YES! the Supreme Ruler agrees with me :)

Has anyone watched this weeks "Lost Untangled?" It is so funny. http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/index?pn=lostuntangled

Good points flashest monk. Is this another chicken or egg question? I think maybe its a little of both. If he didn't have that natural killng instinct, he wouldn't have been able to help his brother. He was totally willing to let his brother take the credit, it was the brother that told the dad it was Sayid. Which in turn Sayid learned that in exchange for killing, he would be rewarded with praise. Positive reinforcement of the bad act of killing.

OK, I had never watched Untangled before. They dropped "Sexy Boba Fett" on us. Greatest Thing Ever. I approve. It made the episode seem better than it really was.
I DID see Lil Ben in chest bandages, too.

I recommend watching the older ones with Faraday in them and his whispering. They are hysterical.

@mrs4aker- thanks for the link to lost untangled. "Sayid, you are a killer. No, I am an Iraqi." LOL. Where can I get one of those matchbox VW blue minibuses and some LOST action figures. I could do my own episodes when they cut for summer hiatus.

Just an idea...given all the hostilities here just concerning LOST, I really don't think this is the place to get into politics either...

Political theory maybe...haha...but I want to keep this a happy place too!

OK, do we see Sayid's brother, again, or was that it? Or did we already see him again, and I missed it? Or, was the brother irrelevant except as a non-killer in need of a dead thing? UGH. By the way, I liked the way they did the whole "kill the chicken" thing. No bloody carcasses. Good job!
I have a feeling/ hope that Sawyer sticks with Juliet. I mean, no offense to Miss Kate, but there's something sweeter about Sawyer and Juliet. (Holy cow, I can't believe I just said that!) But she will have something to do with Ben, before the stuff she has to do with him when she comes/came to the island originally in the show. Make sense? Barely!

I want to bring something up. In a previous season, someone says "I can't believe it, you look just like her", referring to Juliet about someone in Ben's past that he loved. Since we now know that the Losties are in the 70's, maybe she looked just like Juliet because she was Juliet!

So remember when I thought there was something between the breakfast Kate and Ben had when she was their prisoner in the cages...

This came back to me again and I would really LOVE to know what they talked about.

I mean if Kate is going to try to save Ben??

Just throwin it out there...

Ssarah, can we talk about religion? KIDDING!
I agree that politics is dangerous ground. I didn't mean to step there.
HAPPY PLACE!

flashestmonk: I do think that it is like Sayid is filling the gaps in his life -
Nadya -> killing for ben -> some kind of habitat for humanity mission -> killing young ben on the island

Shell: YES! That's what I was alluding to, but you did it much better. Juliet is the HER from Ben's past, but how far back? Young Ben? Teenage Ben?

I don't want to lay any type of groundrules. Just suggestions, but hey I'm a polisci major, I'm always up for a debate. Haha!

I am @ my happy place, it is Friday and the bad weather here has finally passed...it was like the hurricane minus hurricane force winds.

@ Spacemonk. I don't know. I don't think whoever said it was more specific than that. But I think it had to be from the time they are in now.

Fridays are usually a happy place for me too!!

I heard about that Three Stooges remake and I am weary but hopeful that it will be a good thing.

Larry - Sawyer
Curly - Hurley
Moe - Daniel

Lostpedia confirms that Ben is 12 yrs old in 1977.

Lostpedia on Ben Linus ---------

In 1973, when Ben was eight years old, he came to the Island with his father Roger, who had gotten a job thanks to Horace

@spacemonk, no need for apologizes today from you. Your posts were insightful mixed with some necessary good humor. Your were a ray of light in a brewing sea of negativity. You are doing the Monk name proud. You go girl. Grandpa Monk would be happy you are keeping up the family tradition.

BTW ssarah badara...you are NOT the Supreme Ruler. You have been outvoted.

so i just went on TMZ and the first story is Prince gives guitar to TMZ staffer and its Daniel!!!!

@Jenn3...I just saw that too! Then it says that a few minutes later somebody came and took the guitar back from him! :^( I say Prince owes Daniel a guitar.

@ Angel2480 - I was so excited that I didn't read the whole thing. ha ha

@Jenn3

Thanks for the TMZ tip. Watched the clip...how cool!!!

haha! Our Daniel! Prince owes him a guitar!!!

Also ssarah badara...we are all aware that you go to college. You mention it EVERY DAY. Good for you.

Too bad Prince didn't hand him that weird phallic guitar he used during the Super Bowl halftime show.

Ever here the saying " you can't keep a good man down". Ben is the Man. He has been beat up, bitch slapped, shot, tortured, imprisoned, belittled, and whatever else you can throw at him. He will survive. I have the feeling that he will come out of this looking like a knight in shining armour.

@ Chris: Yea, I guess you’re right about Faraday; he doesn’t necessarily have an “issue” with his mom. I have another one, though: Kate (the Ho) and her mom (who preferred being “Chris Browned” over helping out her daughter).

@ Michele D: Yup, I saw that I was wrong about Oldham/Barry Otto after I posted that. I found it on Lostpedia, also. Thanks!

Really enjoy the comments. I always realize how much I missed!

@sk

I agree with you. Somehow I think we will come to understand and sympathize with Ben in the end.

I'm thinking Sayid just karate chopped Jin in the neck to know him out. I also agree with those that think Ben is going to live.

Poor Daniel.

@oakey dokey...

I bet Kate's answer has to do with Claire and Aaron and not Sawyer.

STOP hating on Daniel! So he has a life besides The Lost Diary. Do any of you pay him to write this blog every week?

With that said I think Jack is back on the island because he will have to operate to save Little Ben.

Oh, I'm shuddering at the thought of not being supreme ruler of an online blog. Oooohhhh, noooo......

PS I only mention it all the time because in case you didn't know, college is a big part of someone's life. I only know half the stuff I do in regards to LOST because I learn about certain things in class, so excuse me if I mention where my ideas come from.

Fucking anonymous, have some balls to use a name, or just a creative name instead of anonymous. And you obviously read this blog all the time, so it's safe to say you're a "regular." Complain about me all you want, I could give two shits. I have my "real life" while you feel the need to cut others down...

Vanessa C.-it is a free country and we can hate on whoever we want.
When is going to Leno having a life???? And I believe TMZ pays him for the blog, at least they used to back in the day...

Apparently Anonymous is having a bad day - maybe they just need a hug.

@ LostinLost - Sayid may have hallucinated, if not I think he was still under the influence it was only a few hours later when he shot Ben. Takes a cold man to shoot a child (even if its Ben).
@perdido - When I read that passage I thought it could apply more to Sawyer thinking being patient and thinking.
@CallyK - Ben told Sayid that he met Richard 4 years ago in the forest (that's when he had the long hippy hair).
@jb - nice job on the translation...didn't even notice that.
@Spacemonk - I think all the creepy things (smoke monster, ghosts) started happening after the "incident" they keep referring too, which should be happening some tie soon. and you can certainly be Supreme Ruler
@ thomas - I think Kate's return has to do with Claire and Aaron too!
@ssarah - Anyone who posts as Anonymous is a loser! Don't waste your energy or time on them!

True, but if they read this blog "everyday" and see I mention I'm in college, they are what I would call a "regular" so they have surely posted under another name...why not just say it. I wouldn't be so irritated if they just said it...

So...

speaking of Richard and his hippy hair when he meets Ben, do you think that was just a rouse to get Ben on "his side" because every other time we see him, he's all cleaned up. Why show him that one time all dirty-ish?

I haven't had a chance to read all the blogs, and this doesn't have anything to do with this episode anyway.....this goes back to the episode of Ethan's birth....Juliet helped with Ethan's delivery this time, who did it the first time? Who would have been qualified to deliver Ethan? Did Juliet's stepping in to help change anything that will happen in the future?

@ssarah - Anonymous posts as anonymous pretty regularly so maybe that is their moniker!

ssarah badara there is no need for vulgar language. I am merely stating an opinion. No need for obscenities. You sound like a "hater".

im still sticking with the past can be changed, it's just different dimesions that stuff is changing, cause I bet the reason little Charlotte and maybe other children were taken off the island and didn't die in the Purge is cause of one the Losties, posing as DI groupie, will get them on the sub or something like that. That's why I think maybe Daniel does it to save her cause he know they're "on the wrong song (different dimesion) and he can change THIS line of time and space?? maybe???

I also like to think that somehow Locke is the crazy old man that tells Charlotte to leave, cause he knows what happens to her.. now thats a far stretch so... meybeh not

Ohh, good pick up lostandgoneforever! I wonder, if they aren't living this "loop" if things are going to course correct regardless like Ms. Hawking told Desmond.

And thinking of course correcting, I'm wondering what exactly the course correction is?

Little Ben getting shot - course correcting for Widmore perhaps?

What other scenarios could we think of where things "change" and could end up "correcting" another one of our head honchos? Maybe Jack accusing Christian of sleeping with Sarah? Causing Christian to go to Australia, die, be back on the island?

I dunno, long stretch I guess. Kinda goes back to it's all relative to what is correcting, like the who's bad, who's good, who's neither/both thing.

sick of me...don't read what i have to say. i have a potty mouth. sorry if people dont like it. not my problem, especially on an internet blog.

perdido - didnt think of it like that. thanks for pointing it out.

@ssarah badara

I regularly read but do not post. I have just seen a pattern in the way that you like to tell everyone what should be said and what should not be said. You are quite bossy and just thought it was time to mention it.

ok then attempting to redirect to more fun topics....i vote for no attention for the "unknown" - my name for anon...
i haven't finished rewatching and making my notes but so far i have...
ok so do you like the dirrrty richard or the clean cut one. i am partial to the one that strutted into the DI compound with the torch.
i did enjoy the scenes with sayid and ben and sayid and sawyer. again showing that perspective is everything in life just like here on this blog...
ben manipulated sayid by giving him the names of the widmore gang to kill - he's a killer too - just doesn't like to get his hands dirty that often.
another question i have for y'all - what was the logo on the boxes in the russian dead guy's room. it looked like a half moon but i couldn't make out the words on it - just curious if anyone has the ability to see it. haven't consulted lostpedia or CAM yet.
i have to say i also enjoyed sawyer's line about cooperating and joining the party in otherville.

i can see why people hate kate - she really didn't think that juliet and sawyer would hook up? clueless much? i still like her tho' to many of your chagrin i am sure.

That's why I think maybe Daniel does it to save her cause he know they're "on the wrong song (different dimesion) and he can change THIS line of time and space?? maybe???

I love how Ben’s dad is “Uncle Rico” from Napolean Dynamite. I laugh every time I see him… Bust Must!! Heh heh heh

since when do i tell people what can and cannot be said? i only mentioned what i thought what an "unwritten" spoiler rule.

im not apologizing for anything because i dont think ive done anything wrong (besides the yes, unnecessary cursing). ive mentioned before internet blogs are very impersonal, all you see are the words im typing. no emotion behind it. if its taken as rude, bossy, "supreme ruler-ish" so bet it, thats how the reader interprets it.

i answer people who directly address me, and, in the case of my post about course correcting, i read someone else's idea and fed off of it. isn't that what this blog is for?

that being said, i respect that you think i mention college too much, and that you think im bossy. agree to disagree.

now let's talk LOST...

@Anonymous - being happy is a conscious choice. You have clearly chosen to be unhappy. You don't like certain people's comments, discussions, and theories, yet you choose to read them and comment on them. You can just as easily make the choice not to read items posted on this site and therefore avoid what it is that makes you so unhappy. Take control of your choices - be happy.

ssarah - you are giving them exactly what they want - a rise outta you. if you don't really care then stop responding to the attacks. reinforcing their behavior ya are.
so the question for next week is...
will juliet and sawyer's relationship survive?
how will sun return to jin?
is kate preggo?
will hurley start a hell's kitchen version at dharma world?
and why can't walt come back - he needs the work - making those anytizer commericals - cmon let him come back!

has anyone noticed hurley has been wearing a 'red' shirt under his jumper the last two episodes? i wonder if he is dying next?

has anyone noticed hurley has been wearing a red shirt under his dharma jumper the last two shows? is he next to go?

Okay...concerning Kate. She tells Saywer she knows why she came back. If we assume it is for Sawyer, why hooch it up and sleep with Jack the night before they come back?

But, I wonder if she came back because it was for Aaron's own good? Or was it? Was Claire appearing to Kate saying "don't bring him back" referring to Aaron, or could it have been Locke?

Here is a screen shot of Sayid in the Russian's room and the crescent logo. I cannot make out any words. There is also another box with a logo that looks like some sort of family crest. And then there is a third logo on another box on the ground that looks middle eastern.

@ssarah badara

Agree. Thanks. Back to LOST.

Victoria - thanks for pointing that out. I got so irritated I didn't realize I was just fueling the fire. Thanks for bringing me back down to earth :)

PS Is anyone familiar with Einstein's theory of relativity? I tried to read up on it on wiki, but that kind of stuff is way beyond me...

i still think claire was talking about aaron. she was over him at the time.
so is juliet over jack?

will hurley start a hell's kitchen version at dharma world?

@ Victoria | March 27, 2009 10:45 AM

I vote for Hurley to compete on TOP CHEF!!

@ssarah - I got the feeling Richard dressed for the times - thus being 'hippie' in the 1970s. His casual preppie look in '77 when he meets LeFleur seemed to be another nod to the 70s fashions. JMO

@Flashest Monk - would Grandad Monk's name be Ray? ha

@lostandgoneforever - since the losties supposedly changed things when Paul was killed - it could be that 'the other Ethan' wasn't breach - and therefore the dr. that is with the DI delivered. Or, in the 'other scenario' Amy did give birth off island as was the practice. JMO

Ssarah Badara. Let it go already.

Boy, I leave for a couple of hours and come back and its like the hostiles have invaded the Blogging compound. Victoria correct ssarah, sticks and stones, ya know. Why can't we all get along.

I like the Hell's Kitchen idea. Instead of Dharma Dorks, Chef Hurley/Ramsey could refer to his help as Dharma Donkeys.

Ssarah Badara. Let it go already.

Ssarah Badara. Let it go already.

@ssarah - special relativity or general relativity?

side note/off topic (I think?)

What is Hell's Kitchen?

Ssarah Badara. Let it go already.

Ssarah Badara. Let it go already.

Ssarah Badara. Let it go already.

perdido - I'm not sure? It was briefly discussed in Parapsychology as an introduction to the course and it was just his Theory of Relativity (so we were told).

@fanolost- Since she is a Spacemonk, my guess is her grandpa's first name is Obi-Wan (she was entertaining us with Jedi mind tricks this morning.)

@sandy
is that a pattern that i have missed? if you wear red then you die? i hope it hasn't been as obvious as that and i have been missing it!!!
re daniel: if i had a chance to see prince and get his guitar(and get it taken away) i would do that before sitting home watching a tv show that can be recorded. live life.....

@ ssarah badara | March 27, 2009 11:03 AM

Hell's Kitchen is a reality show on Fox where Chef Gordon Ramsey is the head chef who abuses potential sioux chefs.... its pretty brutal.

I prefer Top Chef.

fanolost - good thinking. i didnt think of it as a sign of the times. he did look rather dapper when he went to see baby/child Locke and that was the 50's/60's

Its been a long time since I took physics so I'm a bit rusty, but they address different situations depending on the gravitational force surrounding the observer.

@ ssarah -

i was going to ask about the red shirt too but forgot too! thanks for asking i'm lost...is it kind of like if you want to be on camera on the oprah show you wear red? i saw that on something, i think. or not, i dunno.

@i'm lost- in the original star trek tv series, the red shirts where like the crew people (non-officers) and whenever one of them went on a landing party, you were assured they would get killed by an alien. Unlike LOST, they never killed off a regular cast member.

beloved Orange?? tsk tsk. Boomer Sooner!!!!!!!!!

however, this will not change my decision to devotedly read this every week.

ooops...sorry for the semi-double post.

thanks for the Hell's Kitchen info CAM - don't really watch FOX alot I guess.

thanks perdido! so maybe in our case, the gravity can be the big amount of electro-magnetic power on the island???? maybe i will stay away from this since i dont know a lot about it.

@ssarah, hell's kitchen would remind you too much of boot camp. Chef Ramsey waits until they are under pressure to put out food and then he stays on them and cusses in their faces (favorite expression is f-ing Donkeys!) He is really brutal. I understand he was a soccer hooligan in a past life. What can I say, its reality tv on FOX.

Haha! Nothing is worse than Parris Island! But I can see the similarities with waiting until they're under pressure and the cussing in the faces! LOL.

What is a soccer hooligan? One of those crazy fans? I guess I'll have to check it out...

The many looks of Richard:

1954: J. Crew
1956: suit and tie re:dapper
1973: Hippie/Black Rock w/ long hair
1974: back to J. Crew
2004: laid back camper

@ssarah, oops, that was me with the anonymous post on hell's kitchen and boot camp. :)

Well...off for now. Sorry for the necessary vulgarities earlier. Glad we could resolve things Anonymous :) At least I'm under that impression?

Side note - speaking of agree to disagree, makes me think of Anchorman when Ron Burgandy says "when in Rome" and Veronica tells him it doesn't apply to the situation and then he says "agree to disagree." LOL. I just get a little chuckle out of Will Ferrel.

I think the Einstein theories most in play on Lost are time dilation and the relativity of simultaneity. Time dilation is about how time lapses can be viewed differently depending on the speed of the observer - think of the movie Contact where Jodi Fosters character was gone 18 hours, but it looked like she was only gone 15 seconds. The theory of simultaneity is where two events viewed by one person as happening in two locations at the exact same time may not be viewed as happening at the same time by another person.

i think it was aaron - she was standing over the top of him when she said it.

Okay I have one more ? and it's off topic...

Seeing as how everyone here is using a computer, does anyone have a Mac Book/Mac Book Air?? Shopping for a new laptop, wondered what people thought of them?

My mom looked into getting a Mac Book for her business and for my sister who is...dare I say it...starting college in the fall. (just trying to make a little joke, nothing meant by it)
Anyway, my point is that you got a lot more computer for you money with a PC. according to my mom anyway. As far how well they work, I don't know that.

Are Space Monk and flashest monk related? You both have the same last name.

The grumps among us are kinda funny too in their own sourpuss, wet blanket way. They add a dimension of sorts to our site, kind of like having a salad dressing with some nasty bitter vinegar mixed in with the salad oil.

I'm Michele, in my 40's and I'm a PC.

HA!

Geeeez, I was on here last night and on Facebook, and no one was around!!! Was so excited to see the number of posts and to read them & get caught up.

Not excited anymore :(

ssarah - I vote for Mac Book.

What's going on with the double posts - I know I am not hitting the "post" button twice and I see mine made a repeat appearance!

I guess the number of posts have to do w/all of them duplicating-LOL

Still sad about everyone fighting.....

did someone mention Parris Island? ssarah, you were there?

@micheleD - ha!

@ssarah - sorta depends on what you want for a computer... the Air looks sweet but you're going to need a lot of external items for it to perform like a regular-type laptop. Folks around here swear by Mac Books - but they are pricier and your mum needs to be aware that there are programs PC-ers will not be able to open (xdoc etc...) and that can be a pain.

For your sister... see if her college offers discounts on some brands. Likely their on-site IT group will know more for fixing it if the school offers them.

and then there's always consumer reports if you're not real tekkie about these things...

i think its the site, it keeps saying error when I post but if I hit refresh then my post is there.... maybe I should just take the hint?

Yay for Daniel getting the guitar from Prince! How cool is that?!?

As for the haters - lay off Daniel. He does this every week for us and it costs us NOTHING!

He does have other responsibilities outside of watching LOST and writing this blog. If he's a little late with it, so what? Would you prefer he stopped doing it altogether??

Whether he posts it Thursday or Friday, he still posts it. And on Saturday, it won't matter anyway which day he posted on.

As for those who say he's lost his enthusiasm for the show, who among you can say you've been 100% happy with EVERY episode? What, he's not allowed to have a luke warm response to an episode?

Geez people, it's Friday! Take your negative vibes elsewhere! If we are going to come here each week, we need to learn to co-exist peacefully.

Okay, everything I have come to believe and understand over the course of a few years about Lost had been thrown out the window and was then driven over by a huge truck. I mean, Ben got shot! So my theory about this sudden upturn of events is forced to be lame and stupid. . . Little Ben is immortal due to the drugs the polar bears gave him so he's not really dead, he just ran off to join the Dharma circus. Thank you :o)

fanolost - that was me talking about my mom deciding to get herself and my sister a PC in response to ssarah initial question. LOL :-D

ssarah - I vote for Mac Book.

I gotta vote for a PC, but make sure you get XP not Vista!

Alright, kids, calm down. This is our HAPPY PLACE, dang it!!
I am actually a Spacemonkey, but I got lazy. I am totally willing to change, if I can still be related to the brilliant Flashest Monk! Do I get a cool robe? I like that orange-ish color the Buddhist monks wear, if I may be particular. (The Buddhist nuns have lighter colors, so I'll just pretend to be Supreme Ruler AND a boy.)
Also, I did not realize someone else already had the Supreme Ruler title. Not wanting to be the usurper, I can always just go with Grand Dictator or Supreme One. You choose. As long as I get minions, I am happy.
OK, so back on topic, I am almost afraid to know what happened to Aaron. If he went to Claire's mom, then why would Kate be all "don't ever ask me that" and stuff? But I don't see her harming him, either, so...I am curious, but nervous.

Thanks fanolost! They both ended up getting PC's.

Yes, glad we could resolve things. That was not me with the repeated posts of "Let it go already".

Have a good weekend all.

The posting gremlins are messing with everyone this afternoon!!!

I think the double (triple) posts happen when you refresh

hmm i haven't watched top chef. i know what you mean about hell's kitchen but i can't not watch it. my hubby agrees with you and thinks it is too harsh tho he likes kitchen nightmares. i looked at the logos again and i can't make out the words either tho it intrigues me. they must mean something for so many boxes to have it on there...
maybe ben is a secret scientologist? that's where L Ron Hubbard went!

i still think aaron is with clementine and cassidy and that is why she told jack to not ask. when he inquired about where she was the other time she told him not to go there and it surely had to do with what sawyer whispered to her on the copter before he jumped.
as for jin -he is desperate to find Sun but he hasn't had a chance to talk to anyone about it yet. and then sayid knocks him out. harsh!

to post without duplicating just hit post once then instead of refreshing pull down your menu and click on lost diary again. i know it is a pain but only way i have figured so far not to multiple post

The gremlins got me, too! Sorry!
By the way, Grumpy-puss types, I love a good curmudgeon!

fanolost - yup. there in summer 2003. worst three months of my life.

thanks for the input on the macbook question~

does anyone think we are going to find out about clementine and cassidy? or is it just a story in passing? i think too much of a coincidence since kate met cassidy.

PS i agree with you Victoria...Aaron is with them. But then sometimes I think he's with Claire's mom too. I'm still a little fishy on Aaron.

Wow - I am glad I am not the only one having problems posting.

@Victoria - LOL about Scientology, hopefully there are no scientology people who have been offended here :)

I agree - I think that Kate coming back has something to do with Aaron and Claire. It still confuses me.... I want to know Hurley's story about how he got on the plane more than I want to know Kate's anyway. :)

For all the negative posters....If we can't live together we will die alone...............geeze

@ sandy - LMAO!!

If Sayid didn't actually kill little Ben I am really disappointed. He is a trained assassin, never has trouble killing anyone else, and then hits a kid in the shoulder? That is like watching some action movie where the hero never gets hit by a gazillion bullets but gets everyone else on the first try.
I was expecting a tear in the space time continum (did I really just type that?)
And tonight...BOOMER SOONER

@flashest monk - thanks. never was a huge trekkie fan. i thought i had missed some major a-ha!!

@ssarah badara-next week it shows cassidy as a guest. some one above pointed that out.

@ssarah - cool on parris... i spent time around the parris boys when they were let out on leave amongst the natives... hee

I agree clementine and cassidy are coming back. I still think Aaron is with them and maybe Ji Yeon also... I think with Claire's mum is too obvious a target if he's that special... jmo

@the hoff - yep. I've said I'd be pissed if Ben doesn't have a reason for not being dead (kevlar...) cuz Sayid isn't missing his target...

I honestly think that maybe Sayid had a little more trouble just shooting a small kid. Yes, he knows it is Ben, but he doesn't look like the Ben Sayid hates. Little Ben has been nothing but good to Sayid and Little Ben is an abused little kid. Maybe Sayid subconsciously didn't want to kill Ben so that impaired his shot.

@cam - I know what you're saying but Sayid said he knew now what his purpose was - I do think he meant to kill little Ben. The venom he spewed on the plane pretty much got me thinking he'd do anything to change what Ben had done to him and others.

Does Lil Ben not dying even though getting shot at close range by our top assassin fall into the category of "the island not being done with him yet"? Or does that only apply off-island?

I am sure next week's episode is all about Kate's back story and the answer to Sawyer's question, "Why did you come back?"

Does Lil Ben not dying even though getting shot at close range by our top assassin fall into the category of "the island not being done with him yet"? Or does that only apply off-island?

@ fanolost - I also think Sayid intended to kill Ben, I am talking about his subconscious

@CAM - I like your idea that Sayid felt a twinge of hesitation when he shot little Ben because, like you said, he's an abused kid, abuse that Sayid witnessed a little bit of. Then he has crying Ben begging Sayid to take him away because he hates it so much.

Sayid knows that Ben isn't yet the Ben that manipulated everyone but he knows he needs to try to prevent THAT Ben from ever emerging.

His twinge of hesitation is probably what prevented him from fatally shooting Ben.

We know that Sayid COULD shoot to kill but maybe at the last minute he decided to shoot to maim, not kill. His conscience got the best of him. Either that or he subconsciously mis-fired without realizing it.

I thought the acting in this episode was a bit melodramatic. Not the best. I am so afraid that LOST is going to jump the shark. I don't know why I have that feeling, I just do. I know every episode leads up to something. Last week's episode left me feeling flat, but this week did redeem itself. I love Sayid. God, he is so hot!!

leanne w. I don't think Lost can jump the shark because the whole show has always been too much, so to speak. Maybe jump the polar bear.

newbie here so but avid Lost watcher. Anyone ever throw out this thought: Could the smoke monster be someone's spirit like Oh say, Locke or Desmond? Trapped by an occurance yet to come or be shown? Crazy thought but hey, it can be a crazy show. Perhaps a side effect of something.

@DeeLosty

Welcome to the site. Good theory. Anything is possible.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genie
i think the smoke monster has to be part genie.

has any one looked at the whispers on lostpedia? maybe they are coming from the temple? just a thought

hypothetical: what if Sayid and his brother switched persona's like Echo and his bro, and really Sayid is the nice one to start and took his killer bro's name and persona?
Can you be born a killer? nature vs nurture????

as for the past changing.
we saw with desmond that charlie was going to die no matter what but he was able to shape the future in a way but ultimately fate got it's way.
hmmm gotta go back to the piece of paper in the hydra with the
imaginary time
real space
imaginary space
real time
event A
event B
that holds the key to how ultimately it is all determined.

Watching Law and Order on TNT right now...Ray has the same stone cold face as he does in the retirement home. Just freaked out a bit, LOL. Gotta love those Shephards...

Victoria...I've seen many mentions of the list you have posted regarding real space, etc. I'm sure I missed something because I'm wondering where that list came from? Was it created here by someone to sort things out, or was it from the show?

@ssarah - that real time/real space - imaginary time/imaginary space list came from the drawing that Caesar saw in what appears to be Daniel's notebook.

This def wasn't one of my favorite episodes. I felt like we did not learn much and not many new questions were asked. I was interested to learn more of Sayid's story as Ben's assain...but was disappointed. Like most of you have said, the most interesting thing was Sayid shooting Lil' Ben. I don't see how lil' Ben can really be dead from this...I think it would take the whole story into a defferent direction. I must say...I was disappointed in Sawyer/Jim....going along when they took Sayid to the truth serum guy...I don't think he will continue to be a Dharmaville leader for long. Looking forward to next week's episode....hope its better than this past week!

@Victoria then could it be Sayid since it is Arabic? Punishment for shooting Ben? Crazy tangent I know..,

I think Sawyer is definitely going to get the blame for Sayid debacle(the vote, the way he acted had to be noticed when they had Sayid tied to the tree) & of course, Kate is going to try and save him hence the preview warning her to stop asking questions.

Thanks Chris! I guess I missed it - which episode? This week or the week before?

I'm not sure if this has been posted already, but it looks like Ben put Locke through the same island 'tests' that he went through. We now know that Ben was shot by Sayid...and it looks to be in the same spot on his body that Ben shot Locke (where he showed him the purged Dharma's) We also know that Ben killed his dad (in the hippy van with the gas), and that Ben brought Locke's dad to the island for him to kill. I think this may be important somehow?

I'm starting to lose interest in show...something major needs to happen and SOON!

Woops forgot to mention how everything seems to be repeating itself with different characters. As if the island is on a loop

@ssarah - it was "L&D of Jeremy Bentham".

Here's the screen cap of it

Okay, everything that I have come to believe and understand about Lost over the course of a few years has been thrown out the window and was then run over by a hippie van on fire. I mean, Ben was shot! Because of this sudden upturn of events, my theory is forced to be stupid and lame. . . Little Ben is immortal due to the drugs the polar bears gave him; so he's not really dead, he just ran off to join the Dharma circus. :o)
P.S. Where the hell is Faraday??

Thanks again Chris. Wow, how did I miss that? It looks like that map thing Locke saw...didn't we find out that was Radzinsky's map. Why do I feel like I'm mentioning things you guys already have?

PS Does anyone think Radzinsky and Daniel have a bigger connection more than just being on the island?

I'm sorry if this is all late, I can't remember if it's been mentioned.

yup there it is. when caesar was going through the file cabinet in ben's office in the hydra station and locke comes in. right before locke comes in caesar looks through the papers and the 1st piece is a map of the island like the one he gave alex, rousseau and carl before they headed to the temple

Side note - anyone in the Gulf South area? We've had three days of emergency broadcast system warnings of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. Wondering if it's just the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area?

Been studying the map from the blast door...

I've seen a lot of alleged/possible statements as well as a lot D.I.H.G. I can figure out the "D" and the "I" but any ideas to the "H" and the "G" ?

ssarah, OMG, I was looking at the map from the blast door and also the pic of drawing that Caesar had, from what looked to have been from Daniels notebook. They are very similar in layout, have not had time to really study each to see if any coarilation can be made. But thought it was interesting.

Haha...it's my computer's background. Would take too much blue ink to print out so I kinda study it and note what looks important. Are there any other maps/drawings we've seen over the course of the show? What is the island's shape? Stuff like that?

ssarah - H.G. = Horace Goodspeed

oooohhhh. duh! haha. thanks Jenn3!

does anyone else want to know where olivia is, or what happened do her? did she cross to the "other" side? did she die? was she the reason they made a truce.

personally, dont like amy. seems kinda fishy she's awfully quick to "kill" sayid...

According to Lostpedia D.I.H.G. stands for Dharma Initiative Hanso Group

has anyone noticed that on the image of the "legible" blast door map lostpedia made a note that the words in italics are translated from Latin .... did DI take Others 101 to learn latin?

Thanks Darlene. I didn't even think of that!

ahhh, i always always forget about lostpedia. haha.

they did Jenn3, i remember Juliet saying that because she spoke in Latin to young Widmore ( i think it was him )

but radzinsky wasn't an Other he was DI

Juliet learned latin from the Others

ohhh. i misread your question. hhhmmm, well maybe we can assume they knew latin because a lot of scientists/philosophers wrote in latin so the ones who needed to learned the language?

Hope you had a good time, Daniel. Can
