WOOHOO! You're back ... and LOST will be soon! I'm gearing up for the recaps and book reviews on the LOST Books Challenge blog as well - CAN.NOT.WAIT.Y
It definitely is time again for LOST!!!! This blog has become a venue for other shows, movies, etc., and it is now time to bing it all back to its roots: LOST!!!!
@Tootsie - Hi (waving from in front of this computer screen). I'm glad you're here. I'm waiting for the rest of the crew to sign in here...
BEN WAGON - forward ho...
FYI - my friend went straight to season 4 last night - after I told her the 8 min. recap above is well worth ruining her career (and sleep) over - but that she needs to get into Season 5 before watching it... she tried to read some of our posts - but without knowing Eloise and company, she was a tad, um, LOST!!!!
Hey everyone. Been a while hasn't it? So glad it's almost LOST time!
Although I heard something that might be bad... the State of the Union Address might be at the same time as the Season premier!!! Because we haven't waited long enough, right?
Oh well, at least it will finally be back. I've missed it... but what will we do when this season ends?
Yeah, I think we could move it over to another day... Maybe back to it's original day, which was a Wednesday, if memory serves me right. There ain't nothin' worth more than Lost on on Wednesday nights... Glee was a good filler from FOX, but meh, nothing else for me. And Mondays... do they have shows on ABC Monday? I really don't remember.
Hey, got a question for all the people out here... since they are some of the best Losties around. :)
My buddies and I are about to wrap up the final rewatch season (Season 5) which means we have to head into the top episode of each season. We've got Seasons 2-4 figured out, and have narrowed down Season 1 to The Pilot episodes, Walkabout, and The White Rabbit, and have no clue what to do for season five... Anyone have suggestions for which season 1 and season 5 to watch? I figgured I'd just put it out there. Any suggestion would be great. :)
Interesting Izzy. But what does it mean that Hurley, Claire, Jin, move? Does that mean realignment of sides?
Can we assume there aren't enough airline seats for everyone? And that's how many losties perish in the end?
Heck, where's Vincent, Rose and Bernard? I find it strange that chick is on the end, but characters we've known, loved, and know are still around - um, where's Desmond?
Ruse, it's a ruse I say... (as I ponder what it call mean...)
I tried to send the link for a news story I just read that ABC has gotten so many twitters regarding the President pre-empting the "Lost" premiere and that the President should reschedule but I couldn't get it to copy:) Suffice it to say that ABC is saying "they haven't scheduled the President's speech as yet." WOW...power to the people...power to the Losties.
On a side note, Lay Leno is going back to his 11:30 time slot after Feb. 1st. Just in case anybody cares.

NEW YORK (AP) — These fans would truly be lost without their favorite TV show — and they're taking their case to the top.
Fans of the ABC series about marooned plane crash survivors fear President Barack Obama will give his State of the Union address Feb. 2.
That's the same day as the three-hour premiere of the final season of "Lost."
Twitter comments Wednesday included "Leave my LOST alone, Skippy!" and "Come onnnn, Obama..pick another day."
The Facebook group "Americans Against the State of the Union on the Same Night as LOST" asks "When will it end?" It notes that Obama already bumped "A Charlie Brown Christmas" for his Afghanistan speech in some markets.
The White House isn't saying when Obama will speak. An ABC spokesman wouldn't say whether the network would consider moving the premiere.
@fanolost: I know! It's been so hard to decide. How are we to pick just one when there are some really good episodes? We might have an extended top episodes viewing, for lack of choosing ability.
And I hope he changes the date for his speech. We've waited so long for our premier... don't bump it!
lol, thanks fanolost... I think I'm in with that opinion too. Sadly the "viewing group" is boring... we all have to watch seperatly, because we're all in school in different states this year. *Sigh* Thankfully we all chat while watching (pause at where the commercial break should be).
If I have to wait another week, I might just curl up and die. The State of the Union Speech isn't that interesting... and getting all the answers started is! I vote no airing it on ABC, so we can air real entertainment and important matters. Like how will Sawyer recover from Juliet's death?
Oops... not that there aren't many important matters going on... there are just a few in the premier that have been unanswered and leaving me wondering for months. And I'd really rather watch LOST. I know they air it on all the other broadcast channels, and eleventy billion other channels. Or just air it over the AI premier... they took Glee off for a few months for that show anyways...
Now I'm really psyched! a new thread from Daniel and our old friends lovesteamykeamy and CAAAAAAM! its been a long time!! Hope all is well. We've gotten way off track and I can't wait for some new input!
I can't wait for some new episodes to discuss. It was nice to watch the recap video as I have virtually no time to re-watch last season... I wish I could! I have so many questions I don't even know where to begin.... I just need the new season to start!
Did anyone read about the possible Disney attraction designed around LOST?
This from CNN:
“Lost” watchers, all is right with the world again: President Obama will not interrupt the long-awaited episode by giving a national address the same night.
Daniel- Thank God your back! I’m not sure if you read thru the last thread before this new one, but there is a rising threat to civilization that has spread thru your blog, much like Communism in Southeast Asia in the 60’s or Al Qaeda in the last decade in the Middle East. Of course I am referring to Ben Wagonism. Imagine bowing down to worship a Ben bobble-head doll. What an abomination! Oh, the horror! If I may suggest a solution that worked against heretics in Europe in the 1500’s. Of course, I’m referring to THE SPANISH INQUISITION! That’s right NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our four ...no... Amongst our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... Let me try this again,..
NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms. (oops, that’s five?) Anyway, we got a lot of weaponry and are suitably armed for the task at hand. You may even think of appointing a Grand Inquisitor, like Tomás de Torquemada, the Dominican monk who held that position during the good old days. That is if you don’t have the time to do the job yourself. I know they keep you pretty busy at TMZ, chasing Elin and Tiger around Sweden and all. Let me know what you think? I’m happy to help. Ben Wagoner’s are easy to find. If they weigh the same as a duck, then logically they are made of wood, etc, etc. Knowing this, the rest is a piece of cake.
@tootsie- You're probably right, but a guy's got to try. Hey, since you are the only person interested in Fringe besides me, Fox is screwing with their schedule again. New Episode on Monday and then again on Thursday. Then next Sunday and Monday, 24 starts so Fringe is back on Thursday. Didn't want you to miss the one tomorrow night.
Watching a Fringe rerun last week and Agent Broyles (Abbadon from LOST) says to Olivia, "Why are shape shifting soldiers from another Universe stealing frozen heads?" Where else would a character deliver a line like that but Fringe? I love when Walter self medicates himself with Valium, Marijuana, or just letting a giant leech suck out a couple of pints of blood. My only problem with the series is for 2 or 3 episodes they are doing an X-file imitation (basically trying to solve bizarre cases) and then they go back to trying to stop the bad guys from the Alternate Universe from opening a door and letting their bionic shape shifting soldier come thru to start Armageddon. The best thing about LOST is that the writing, with very few exceptions, stays on task. I do love the Bishops. Especially Walter. And Olivia is growing on me.
fanolost- I'm sure that you'll be the one to succeed in keeping Sawyer from a breakdown... and we'll lobby those dang writers until they send you that script! ;)
Thanks for the heads up on Fringe! If I would not have checked this, I would have just continued drinking & missed it!!
Heck, I probably will continue drinking-but then you all know "my" reputation!!
@ Cam: if you are a Fringe fan @ all, it would be well worth your spare time to check out some of Flashest's posts on the show. (prev thread)
He did them in the "Daniel" format of Lost, & we all enjoyed them this summer!
As far as the Ben Wagoneers, I'm not sure how far back it all started? But those of us on board are definitely committed!!!
Sure he's not the sex symbol type, or cute & cuddly...but you love to hate him & hate to love him???? So he's awesome!!!
We will all have to wait & see how it plays out, but we are strong in our resolve that Ben will either save the day or kill off everyone...and have the island back to himself-LOL!!!!
As far as Ben is concerned, I have always been a fan of his sinister ways. I am a sucker for the bad guy when it comes to well, almost anything. But when it comes to TV shows and movies I LOVE LOVE LOVE the evil guys because that would be so much more fun to play... and they are far more interesting than the cookie cutter hero types.
All that to say, you do not have to convince me to like Ben, I have liked him ever since he showed up as Henry Gale....
@ Tootsie - I sadly did not start out watching Fringe, and now I am far behind. This show is on my list... so one of these days when I have some spare time (ha!) I will catch up and start watching it.
When ABC's drama "Lost" ends in May, it will definitively end — don't look for any sequels or spinoffs.
The show's producers said Tuesday they've had the final image of the mythologically dense series in mind since the first season, although Carlton Cuse said the last episode hasn't been written yet. It will air sometime in May.
Cuse and Damon Lindelof were giving away few secrets to the show's rabid fans at a news conference Tuesday. But they said the show's sixth and final season will hearken back to its first season in 2004.
One secret they did reveal: actress Cynthia Watros, who played the character Libby before being killed off in the second season, will return this year.
So...my mind is all aflutter about how, "the show's sixth and final season will hearken back to its first season in 2004." I refuse to believe that it turns out nobody got on the plane in the first place. Just wouldn't befit the twisted minds Cuse and Lindelof. Of course, it could be something like Aaron has a fertile imagination and is in possession of a snowglobe and is always shaking it up and...and...and Aww geez...is my nose bleeding?!
Yeah, I read it on a few different sites. Hopefully someone got their information wrong. I knew about some of the others. And people are saying things about E.M. pulling double duty with V. and Lost... uuuuum, she, like, died. (Said in a very Hilary from Fresh Prince of Bel Air way... ;) )
If it's a LOST Reunion they should bring back my favorite bad boy, please!
just watched 'dave' last night—AMAZING episode—so im really happy to hear libbys coming back, she was killed way too soon and we need her story tied up (why she was in the mental hospital). plus hurley gets his lady love! as for michael.. ive had more "WAAAAAAALLLLT" than i can possibly handle.
heck, if we're talking dead characters... BRING BACK MR EKO!!! everyone else can stay dead.
I guess I should prepare my ears for that dreadfully annoying yell from he who might come back. Yeesh. They seem to be bringing back a couple people I didn't like. Blah.
I'm just waiting for there to a be a very simple, logical explanation to wrap this all up, especially given the so many mind-exploding theories that have been batted around for the last seasons. I haven't been this excited about TV since, well, when the last season of LOST was starting!!!!
Yay! Can't wait for your weekly diary or LOST to come back! Been rewatching seasons 1-5 to get ready and I always see something new! For example.... Locke and Hurley had the same boss. Locke's boss at the box company in season 1 is Randy...And Hurley's boss at Mr. Cluck's is also Randy. Same dude minus some facial hair. And THAT is why I love LOST! I've watched the season's multiple times but in a way it's still new because I discover new stuff! Can't wait till Feb. 2nd!!!!
Thanks Daniel for coming back to us. Keep up the great work for our entertainment and enlightenment.
Lost...the best show on the planet...bar none. The best ensemble cast of characters. Cannot wait for the unpredictable last season to begin. Start cramming !
Well... in light of my name, I'll say Keamy is back and as bad as ever. ;) But another guess would be maybe Jack gets helped up by Christian or something like that. I don't have too many ideas, I'm in three day weekend mode.
According to Carlton Cuse it all will start from the point where Juliet smacks the thermonuclear device with a rock (very, very 2001 A Space Odysessy-esque)
I don't think we are going to see Oceanic 815 land in LAX. If they do, and we start all over again, they won't be able to wrap things up before end of season. I'm thinking they do go forward in time, but not to before the plane crash. For more on LOST, the season premiere and the season finale, see the link below. They ain't no spoilers in this one. The LOST crew is playing this one very close to the vest.
If Cooper comes back, and he starts his rant again about them being in Hell, he just might convince Sawyer this time that its true.
The introduction in the last episode of the two demigods (Jacob and MiB) really changed the structure of the plot so much, its hard to guess which way they are going to go. If it was just the Losties fighting the Others or Widmore's freighter people, (or just Widmore versus Ben), its easier to project an outcome. When you throw in the supernatural and old world mythology, pre-dating the Egyptians, it puts a different spin on things. This was the toughest between seasons period of LOST to come up with any viable theories on where the plot is going to go. If it were Locke versus Jack, its one thing, but Locke possessed by MiB with motives that we can't yet comprehend is another.
I was so happy to check in last week & see Daniel's site up. I am sooooo excited LOST is almost, finally back! At the same time, I hold so much sorrow, anger, & disbelief that this is LOST's last season?? I don't want to go on&on how this is a total injustice to the thinking minds of T.V. & the fact that it sucks for me & my friends who LOOOVE LOST!!!! Man, I'm pissed off!! Look forward to all of your ideas&theories. Mr. Factual & maaany other smarties I haven't seen post yet, Where are you? I hope to see you this season. P.S. How is this the last season of such an AMAZING show???????????
izzy- I agree, a back story on MiB would be amazing. So far we only have seen things from Jacobs perspective. We really only have one side of a story. Jacob and MiB seem to be two sides of the same coin?
I LOVE LOST- I share your sadness, but I think the three year plan that the producers and writers negotiated with the network to come up with a cohesive ending was a far better deal for us FANS then letting the series sputter and die from lack of direction. The proof is in the pudding, but if you hear Lindhof and Crus talk about the finale, they seem convinced that we will be very satisfied with the end product. Kind of a "Better to die young and leave a good looking corpse kind of philosophy." We will be all very sad at the end, but at least there will be closure.
Flashest Monk... Do you think that the branded mark on Juliet's neck holds any clues? Is it an eight pointed star, which could symbolise resurrection, rebirth, eternal life?
Or is it eight lines that symbolise the four corners of space...north, south, east, west, and time... the two solstices and the two equinoxes?

Has anyone noticed the similarities between Jacob and Alexander Selkirk, a Scottish sailor who was marooned on an island? ... Selkirk is said to be the inspiration for Daniel Defoe's novel Robinson Crusoe.
Selkirk's long awaited rescue occured on Feb. 2nd 1709....Feb.2nd... Synchronistic, or what !!!
When Eloise told Desmond about the man in the red shoes, and how she tried to save his life several times, was she trying to do a course correction when she told Jack to put something of Christion's... the white tennis shoes... in Locke's casket?
@sk-The "mark" made on Juliet's neck is actually the symbol of the Knights Templar who guarded the Holy Grail. I understand that after getting the mark, Juliet ate Spam (alot).
On an even less serious note, I know what a big Coen brothers fan you are. Thought you might find this book interesting. Its called "The Year's Work in Lebowski Studies". Its based on an underground academic symposium coinciding with the 5th Annual Lebowski Fest in Louisville. 21 separate essays were written comparing the Dude to Rip Van Winkle (the original slacker bowler) and the quest for the Grail. At the sypmposium one contributor gave his paper entirely imitating the voice of Sam Elliot (the Dude abides) and a woman professor, dressed up as Walter complete with camo pants, headband and brush cut hair. Me, I'm reading the book with a fresh Caucasian in my hand (one made with real Half & Half, not with some powder creamer) and occasionally staring at my rug and admiring how it ties the room together.
Do you think that when Juliet smacks the bomb that it will be the equivelant of the Hail Mary Pass? Made in desperation with only a small chance of success.
Love Wes Anderson. Dude really marches to his own beat.
I am not in a panic about Desmond's name not be in the cast. I am hoping that the initial episodes begin to piece together what is happening with those on the island. We already know that Penny is coming back because the actress said she is going to do both parts for a short time. My prediction, Des arrives like the calvary in the end to help his friends. I do think that Eloise Hawking was right when she says the island isn't done with you, Des.
Besides, "Destiny is a fickle bitch" (if you believe Ben?) he has got to come back. Unless they are punishing Cusick for his legal problems, why would the writers and producers not include the most popular character on the show for the last season?
Oh, was watching Walkabout the other night, and remembered the part where Locke ran into Smokie for the first time... maybe that was Smokey/MiB assessing Locke for the first time to see if he would be good for the loophole?

@lovesteamykeamy...Do you think that Jacob could have been doing the same thing when he met Kate, Jack, Sun, Jin or Hurley off the island? I mean if MiB can take over Locke's body, why can't the reverse happen with Jacob?
Maybe he will come back embodied in one of them. He could have also found a loophole, before MiB did. And what happened to MiB's body?
He could have been. And one time he went to Locke and basically brought him back to life after the 8-story fall... Boy, they're all just getting assessed for many things. And Jack, Kate, and Sawyer were all on his list.
We may also have to get us a big coach bus, and pick up people along the way to Santa Rosa. A lot of people may have issues with flying on a plane after Lost. Oh hell, why not let the Benwagoners take care of the transportation.
OMG-is it really only 2 weeks from tonight??? I've been so busy @ work; I forgot what the date is!
@ Flashest, Ben never drives-he just opens up the canister of deadly gas to kill every one off!! Is that what you are afraid of-he would never "hurt" a TRUE BenWagoneer-LOL!!!
@lovesteamykeamy: you just made my day w/the bunnies & Annie doll remark! Don't forget the numb-chuck (SP?) "Thingy" he beats everyone with!!
So does anyone think that Jacob & MIB are "one & the same entity"-so to speak??
Kind of like your conscience & sub-conscience??
Glad I could help make you're day, Tootsie. And can't forget the collapsible baton (I didn't remember what it was, had to lostpedia it). I think that also hangs from the mirror in the van, as well as decorating it. ;)
Hi all,
I'm thinking that Walt, Aaron, and Sun's daughter all have more to do with the final season than we have been saying. These are pivotal characters and if they are left in the dust, well, it's just lazy writing. (I keep thinking, with my cyclical/soul theory, that the kids are needed for Jacob, Ben, etc...)
Santa Rosa and the Benwagon - are we getting Dharma peanut butter for this trip? Or just some (spam, spam, spam, spam... or would that be bacon, eggs, ands spam, no' spam, bacon, eggs...)
A main theme of Lost has been science vs faith. If Locke, a man of faith, is believed to have committed suicide, don't you think that serious doubts should be raised about his faith?
If MiB thinks that Locke took his own life,(after Jacob touched him when he was thrown out the window) then MiB is going to expedite his journey to the dark side.
Maybe this is the loophole that MiB found. But little does he realize that Ben was the one that took Locke's life. So maybe Ben is the good guy, and Jacob will succeed in the end.
Also, remember that Locke is the first main character to die on the mainland. Do you think that there is a possibility that this could be the answer, this could be the loophole?
they must give us annie. it is weird now to think that lil ben became obsessed with juliet because she came back in time and assisted in saving his life? annie is a missing piece of ben's puzzle
was happy to see that libby's character was coming back to give more backstory to the institution with hurley and connection to des via the boat elizabeth. and michael will be returning so that means more walt - like said previously the walt, aaron, ji yeon play a part that hasn't been shown as well ie. walt could make things happen - dead birds and show up = tele powers. aaron was said by the australian psychic he needed to be raised by her and etc and jacob told jin and sun at their wedding that their love was special and not to take for granted so it is exciting for everyone that has been involved for the whole story to have it continue to unfold. can't wait for for eloise - widmore backstory.
i still think a spinoff of hurley and miles non violent ghostsupport services. just them bantering about the time continuium is brill
and when ben told sun before he went to face the smoke monster and have a little face to face with "alex" - he told her if she saw desmond to tell him he is sorry- sorry for shooting him? we know from the hospital that pen was ok and so was charlie so >?? he promised widmore ...
Did anyone else notice in " The Life and Death of Jeremy Benthan ", that Locke goes to Santa Domingo to visit Sayid, Santa Rosa to visit Hurley, Santa Monica to see Helen's grave, and Los Angeles ( the city of angels ) to visit Kate.
Miles and Hurley... Lost's version of Laurel and Hardy or Bert and Ernie. " Your just jealous my powers are better than your powers." Gotta love it! Great comic relief !!!
On a sidenote...Does that first photo of Tiger Woods at the treatment centre remind anyone else of the famous film footage of Big Foot. That's the first thing that popped into my head. LoL!!!
I never noticed that bit on the different cities... that's a really good point sk. Saints and angels... or something like that.
I've been doing the "Best of" episode watch with my friends, we somehow went from a top five to a top fourteen... not quite sure how. ;) And I keep noticing how much of a good guy Locke was pre-death. And how much of a jerk the fake Locke really is. Not that it's anything really significant this time.
lovesteamykeamy– whats the list of your top 14? im doing a rewatch now and id love to know.
i also think itd be a great idea for post for daniel to do, his top ten lost episodes.. maybe when this last season wraps up.
some of my favorites: dave, flashes before your eyes, walkabout, white rabbit, the other 48 days, the pilot (of course!), the 23rd psalm, the man from tallahassee, the man behind the curtain, the constant.. so hard choose!
but i know that stranger in a strange land — the one with jack, bai ling, and the tattoo.. is the absolute WORST
@izzy- the ones my friends and I put on the list are The Pilot (both parts), Walkabout, White Rabbit, Dave, Further Instructions, The Constant, Cabin Fever, There's No Place Like Home (Parts 1, 2, & 3), Jughead, 316, LeFleur, Dead is Dead, Some Like it Hoth, and The Incident (Parts 1 & 2).
When it's a multiple part episode, we watch all the parts same night, so it's 14. And just for kicks we decided to throw in Ji Yeon to make it 15 episodes and go with the numbers. ;)
Oh, and yeah, that Bai Ling episode was absolutely painful. I wanted to go to the beach and beat Jack up for that one. And we tried to avoid Nina and Pablo... I mean Nikki and Paulo... as much as possible. The season three episode was selected with the category of as little of them as possible. And season two was that with Ana Lucia. Too bad we couldn't do that with Charlie.

Did everyone forget that Feb.2nd is Groundhog Day!!!
Wow! Coincidence or what. Think of Bill Murray's movie. Murray's character Phil, wakes up to find that he is reliving Feb.2nd over and over again, with everyone else unaware of the "time loop". Phil ends up a totally different person from who he was on Feb.1st, in bed with the lovely Rita ( Andie MacDowell ).
Oh, early morning post, simply because it came to me while watching Cabin Fever last night. The part with John's dream, he sees Horace... could that be a manifestation of the monster/MiB?
Definitely a turning point when Locke starts to see dead people...Horace, then Christian in the cabin. Has MiB found his stooge, found someone that he can control.
@ bb, LOL, I think that might be a mystery we will never understand. No matter how long and hard we contemplate. Maybe he just went through a chest shaving phase or did it one night when he was mega drunk?

Wow, good to see some of the familiar names return here, especially Daniel himself. Hello everybody, happy 2010.
So bittersweet, we get our favorite show back but we also know it is about to end, brutal. Guess I just need to enjoy the ride and soak it all in.
Something to chew on to pass the time... ORANGE. Very 6th Sense like, the color Orange was very apparent in my rewatches so far. For those looking to kill some time may I suggest watching older episodes and looking for the color orange...
* Obvious episode, Sun and Jin meet. Hotel covered in orange, Jin's buddy saying love will look orange. Jin's lapel rose is orange.
* Sun's shirt is orange when Charlie drags her into the jungle to kidnap her.
* Michaels shirt is orange on the raft and searching for Walt.
* The Hatch itself is covered in orange and orange glow.
* The drug plane, orange of course.
* Eko's childhood flashback, orange tinted, orange candles in church.
* When Shannon is shot, orange shirt.
* Claire's shirt is orange when she treks into the jungle with Kate and Danielle to find the med hatch.
* And for the Ben lovers.. Guess who is wearing an orange shirt when he is shot with a crossbow and stuffed in the hatch, why Henry Gale of course.
I dont have a theory yet and still not done with my rewatching of old episodes. Just very, very intrigued by this orange theme. TGIF!!
Flashest Monk...Have you read Vincent's Lostpedia page lately? Now I know why " Dog is Man's Bestfriend ".
That saying was coined by George Graham Vest, who in his summation to the jury in 1869, gave a speech about the unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship of a dog.
I don't think I've seen a promo with "Amazing Grace" in the background... but that could just be because I fall asleep in front of the tv all the time at night. So tired all the time now. Hopefully whatever it is that's making me tired wears off by next Tuesday!
sk @ January 21, 2010 07:12 PM,...picking groundhog day for the premier can't be coincidence...now whether or not it says anything about where the story is headed is a whole nother ball game..we'll have to wait and see!
By anyone else, I mean are any other posters familiar with him, not if Flashest was familiar with anyone at all. lol. Sorry, it's the excitement building up!!!!
Just watched The Incident, with captions. I am definitely going to keep an eye on Vincent. Did you know that yellow labrador retrievers love to swim, are friendly and great with young children, and need to feel as though they are part of the family.
Do you think that when Jacob touched Ilana in the hospital, and Locke, when he fell from the window, that they were both left for dead, and he brought them back to life? Maybe positioning his next move.
It almost looked like Jacob was sitting on the bench, reading, and waiting for Locke to be thrown out of the window, and hit the ground. He was by his side pronto, don't you think ?
sk - I missed most of The Incident last night, so I missed the blurb about Vincent, but I'd say that was true of all (good) Labrador Retrievers. I have a black lab and a yellow lab and they are all of those characteristics, and more
Also, I agree with you about Jacob. I think Jacob is kind of like the theory of relativity - he already knows everything that has happened, will happened, and is happening. So he knew where to find Locke, how to meet Hurley in the cab, etc. I have this feeling he isn't "dead." Almost like his being pushed in the fire was symbolic of more Greek epic seen in The Iliad and like the funeral pyres built for Hector and Patrocles.
ssarah badara...Do you think that Jacob's touching Locke first could have neutralize MiB's evil control over Locke? Maybe that is why Locke could not do the deed himself, and Locke manipulated Ben to take down Jacob.
Plus, it is great payback courtesy of Locke. I think a lynch mob may await our Ben. Yikes !!!
Did that make sense above? MiB is impersonating Locke, and not really possessing him because of the magic touch he recieved from Jacob. Jacob's presense is in there somewhere.
Why is there no decomposition of Locke's body ? Or have I been watching too many CSI reruns. He sure has a good looking corpse. When Jack asked Ben at the funeral home if Locke was actually dead inside the coffin, Ben did not answer. Ben definitely knows more than he is letting on.
@sk... about the touching Ilana and Locke. With Ilana, I'm not too sure, but with Locke, I thought he had died from the fall and he was bringing him back to life. Not sure. Although it did definitely look like Jacob was just sitting there, waiting for the fall to happen. He seemed to get up with a calmness that most others wouldn't.

@bb - we side-chatted after all things lost had been discussed and regurgitated - but there's nothing like a fresh new start with Daniel!
Posted by: fanolost | January 6, 2010 12:10 PM
Welcome back Daniel! It's gonna be a fantastic season!
Posted by: JoeSC | January 6, 2010 04:14 PM
Thank goodness Daniel is back!!! The other thread was getting way too long to wait for-LOL!!
& bb-we were just all trying to "stay in touch" over the long wait w/ our chatter about other stuff!
Welcome back Daniel & as fanolst said-come over to the dark side to our "Benwagon"
Posted by: Tootsie | January 6, 2010 04:21 PM
@Tootsie - Hi (waving from in front of this computer screen). I'm glad you're here. I'm waiting for the rest of the crew to sign in here...
BEN WAGON - forward ho...
FYI - my friend went straight to season 4 last night - after I told her the 8 min. recap above is well worth ruining her career (and sleep) over - but that she needs to get into Season 5 before watching it... she tried to read some of our posts - but without knowing Eloise and company, she was a tad, um, LOST!!!!
Posted by: fanolost | January 7, 2010 06:17 AM
Hey everyone. Been a while hasn't it? So glad it's almost LOST time!
Although I heard something that might be bad... the State of the Union Address might be at the same time as the Season premier!!! Because we haven't waited long enough, right?
Oh well, at least it will finally be back. I've missed it... but what will we do when this season ends?
Still hoping for Keamy to come back... ;)
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 7, 2010 06:24 AM
LSK - Hi!!!
Yeah I see one entry in Google that says it may be a problem. But I hold that perhaps we'll be spared.
ABC should not, repeat, should not, air it AFTER.
ABC should reschedule for Monday or Wednesday. I vote for Monday - what's on ABC on Monday anyways? Move it...
Posted by: fanolost | January 7, 2010 09:43 AM
Yeah, I think we could move it over to another day... Maybe back to it's original day, which was a Wednesday, if memory serves me right. There ain't nothin' worth more than Lost on on Wednesday nights... Glee was a good filler from FOX, but meh, nothing else for me. And Mondays... do they have shows on ABC Monday? I really don't remember.

Nice to see you back Daniel! So excited for the final season...
Posted by: Rachel | January 7, 2010 11:17 AM
Hey, got a question for all the people out here... since they are some of the best Losties around. :)
My buddies and I are about to wrap up the final rewatch season (Season 5) which means we have to head into the top episode of each season. We've got Seasons 2-4 figured out, and have narrowed down Season 1 to The Pilot episodes, Walkabout, and The White Rabbit, and have no clue what to do for season five... Anyone have suggestions for which season 1 and season 5 to watch? I figgured I'd just put it out there. Any suggestion would be great. :)
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 7, 2010 12:36 PM
LSK, it's like lay's potato chips, you can't eat just one...
for season 5 - WHH and/or Dead is Dead. But of course the last epi would be my favorite (Juliet...)
White Rabbit for 1, then the pilots.
IMHO of course. Then again I think it was Tootsie who said to me 'you can't skip any episodes...' so it's then hard for me to PICK JUST ONE...
hee

has anyone else seen this new season 6 promo picture? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1240846/Lost-fans-promised-shocking-finale-cast-recreation-The-Last-Supper.html
Last Supper becomes the LOST Supper.. with Locke as Jesus, naturally. Love it! Glad to have Daniel back!
Posted by: izzy | January 7, 2010 01:50 PM
Interesting Izzy. But what does it mean that Hurley, Claire, Jin, move? Does that mean realignment of sides?
Can we assume there aren't enough airline seats for everyone? And that's how many losties perish in the end?
Heck, where's Vincent, Rose and Bernard? I find it strange that chick is on the end, but characters we've known, loved, and know are still around - um, where's Desmond?
Ruse, it's a ruse I say... (as I ponder what it call mean...)
Posted by: fanolost | January 7, 2010 02:01 PM
I tried to send the link for a news story I just read that ABC has gotten so many twitters regarding the President pre-empting the "Lost" premiere and that the President should reschedule but I couldn't get it to copy:) Suffice it to say that ABC is saying "they haven't scheduled the President's speech as yet." WOW...power to the people...power to the Losties.
On a side note, Lay Leno is going back to his 11:30 time slot after Feb. 1st. Just in case anybody cares.

'Lost' fans fear Obama speech will bump premiere
Thursday, January 7, 2010
Posted by: jaytch | January 7, 2010 02:40 PM
.... And we're back!!!!!
I can't tell you how excited I am for the new season and yet sad it is ending....
I cannot wait! But I may have to, oh well.
Hello everyone!
Posted by: CAM | January 7, 2010 08:29 PM
@fanolost: I know! It's been so hard to decide. How are we to pick just one when there are some really good episodes? We might have an extended top episodes viewing, for lack of choosing ability.
And I hope he changes the date for his speech. We've waited so long for our premier... don't bump it!
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 8, 2010 05:04 AM
HELLO EVERYONE!!!!
Daniel you never let us down!
Posted by: Jenn3 | January 8, 2010 06:48 AM
@LSK - I vote (not that I'm in your viewing group..) for multiple 'best epis...'
@Jenn3 - HI! How has the first week of the new/old job been?
Posted by: fanolost | January 8, 2010 07:00 AM
Can you believe this?! I don't think I have another week in me of waiting!
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b160875_obama_crashing_lost_premiere_not_cool.html
Posted by: Jen | January 8, 2010 07:03 AM
Daniel! Bring it on...
Posted by: Michele | January 8, 2010 08:34 AM
lol, thanks fanolost...
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 8, 2010 08:35 AM
Oops... not that there aren't many important matters going on... there are just a few in the premier that have been unanswered and leaving me wondering for months. And I'd really rather watch LOST. I know they air it on all the other broadcast channels, and eleventy billion other channels. Or just air it over the AI premier... they took Glee off for a few months for that show anyways...
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 8, 2010 08:53 AM
@LSK - I'm with you - but ABC would never not show the SofU address - what would George S. and Diane Sawyer do?
I think ABC is nuts to shift everything one week more - or would they end up doubling up something so it all ends on time?
If the speech goes on the 2nd, ABC should simply move it to Monday or Wednesday - real simple. I'll let them bump, um, V.
As for Sawyer, if he had me, he'd be over her... hee but no one bothered to write me into the storyline.
Posted by: fanolost | January 8, 2010 09:18 AM
LOL you guys are hilarious! I vote that the State of the Union only air on CSPAN this year...
Posted by: CAM | January 8, 2010 09:31 AM
I second the CSPAN CAM!!!!
Posted by: Becky | January 8, 2010 10:45 AM
Third. For CSpan only...
For all who know about my newly corrupted LOST friend - she took today off to watch Season 4 - and we chatted about The Constant during my lunch.
She'll get through most before Feb.... woo hoo - another convert...

Now I'm really psyched! a new thread from Daniel and our old friends lovesteamykeamy and CAAAAAAM! its been a long time!! Hope all is well. We've gotten way off track and I can't wait for some new input!
Posted by: LostLover | January 8, 2010 12:17 PM
I can't wait for some new episodes to discuss. It was nice to watch the recap video as I have virtually no time to re-watch last season... I wish I could! I have so many questions I don't even know where to begin.... I just need the new season to start!
Did anyone read about the possible Disney attraction designed around LOST?

@fanolost: LOL. They should have written you into that script... still should, pronto!
I agree with CAM, just CSPAN, not eleventy-billion networks.
And yay!!! We get our LOST fix on the proper night after all!
And hey LostLover.

Welcome back, Daniel! It's been a long hiatus. Look for to this next season, your thoughts and the great comments here!
Hey, you all everybody!
Posted by: monkeyface | January 9, 2010 11:27 AM
Posted by: flashest monk | January 9, 2010 11:47 AM
Resistance, is futile!!!
Posted by: Tootsie | January 10, 2010 06:29 AM
@tootsie- You're probably right, but a guy's got to try. Hey, since you are the only person interested in Fringe besides me, Fox is screwing with their schedule again. New Episode on Monday and then again on Thursday. Then next Sunday and Monday, 24 starts so Fringe is back on Thursday. Didn't want you to miss the one tomorrow night.
Posted by: flashest monk | January 10, 2010 08:27 AM
@ fanolost - the new/old job is going really good so far. Very busy though. Thanks for asking.
Nice try flashest! STAY STRONG BEN WAGONERS!
Although thanks for the heads up re: Fringe. I wouldn't have even paid attention to it being on Monday.
To think I could of missed an episode of Walter and Pacy (peter bishop)
Posted by: Jenn3 | January 10, 2010 02:42 PM
Posted by: flashest monk | January 10, 2010 05:56 PM
It was a good try you made with the Ben Wagon Appeal, flashest monk... Nooobody expected it.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 10, 2010 06:11 PM
Thanks for the Fringe heads up Fanolost. I watch too and would have missed it!
Posted by: LostLover | January 11, 2010 06:28 AM
Morning all! Fringe tonight? Thanks... that I would have missed. Walter - I cannot get past him being Denethor in LOTR... I do try...
LSK - my script did not arrive this weekend - but I will surely improvise to keep Sawyer from breaking down... hee
Jenn3 - you'll get back into the work swing... glad it's going ok.
FMonk - BEN WAGONEERS rule... rock... well, we're solid as a rock... or we have rocks in the head....
And my friend is past Jughead, Oceanic 6... she'll be ready for season 6...
Posted by: fanolost | January 11, 2010 06:46 AM
OK, since I am clearly out of the loop - could someone summarize "Ben Wagoners" for me?
Also, Flashest Monk, how I have missed your rants and raves!
Posted by: CAM | January 11, 2010 06:51 AM
Ha Ha!!! @Flashest Monk!! What a word wizard you are!!!!
Posted by: Becky | January 11, 2010 07:11 AM
fanolost- I'm sure that you'll be the one to succeed in keeping Sawyer from a breakdown... and we'll lobby those dang writers until they send you that script! ;)
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 11, 2010 07:23 AM
hi CAM - those of us on the Ben Wagon are rabid Ben fans... not Locke, not Jacob, it's BEN ... ;)
@LSK - hee hee... I'll write you in too!
Posted by: fanolost | January 11, 2010 07:44 AM
lol, thanks fanolost. That has the potential to be one awesome script! hee hee
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 11, 2010 07:57 AM
@CAM- you know, just the communion wine talking, I don't have access to the good stuff, like Walter Bishop! :)

The Last LOST season -- Last Supper! ha ha
Every year they throw us off a little with the pre-season picture -- remember Daniel's missing foot last year??
They are getting exactly the reaction they want.
Maybe DESMOND is not at the last supper table because he is a "HIGHER ENTITY"?
As far as ROSE and BERNARD are concerned, I think we all know that ADAM & EVE were not at the Last Supper.......
LOCKE (or whomever is habitating his body) in the middle seat.....
HMMMMM....
Cannot wait for the season to get going!
Posted by: bb | January 11, 2010 10:44 AM
I vote for the later:)
Posted by: Tootsie | January 11, 2010 04:52 PM
Just THREE more Tuesdays to go!!!
Posted by: jaytch | January 12, 2010 05:24 AM
Posted by: CAM | January 12, 2010 06:49 AM
So what does everyone think is going to happen with DESMOND?
"The island is not done with you yet, Desmond." -- Eloise
How do you think he will come back into play?
Posted by: bb | January 12, 2010 08:10 AM
@bb - my only thought about Des is that someone will have to kidnap him/force him back on-island... perhaps his dad-in-law, perhaps Pen herself...

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) —
Posted by: jaytch | January 12, 2010 11:00 AM
OMG jaytch! Last I knew she def wasn't coming back. That is so exciting. YAY for Hurley
Posted by: Jenn3 | January 12, 2010 12:06 PM
So...my mind is all aflutter about how, "the show's sixth and final season will hearken back to its first season in 2004." I refuse to believe that it turns out nobody got on the plane in the first place. Just wouldn't befit the twisted minds Cuse and Lindelof. Of course, it could be something like Aaron has a fertile imagination and is in possession of a snowglobe and is always shaking it up and...and...and Aww geez...is my nose bleeding?!
Posted by: Jenn3 | January 12, 2010 01:07 PM
Sorry Jenn3 -- wasn't trying to usurp your name. That last post was from me. I guess my nose is bleeding:)

Apparently Michael will be back...

@LSK - tough choice. Well no...it's BEN all the way.
SPOILER
Plus Hurley gets Libby back.... ahem...
Really? where does one hear what you say above in spoiler? really?
pppfffttttt
now it's sounding like a freaking LOST REUNION
Next 'she who shall not be named' and Juliet will be resurrected... Och
Posted by: fanolost | January 13, 2010 06:39 AM
Yeah, I read it on a few different sites. Hopefully someone got their information wrong. I knew about some of the others. And people are saying things about E.M. pulling double duty with V. and Lost... uuuuum, she, like, died. (Said in a very Hilary from Fresh Prince of Bel Air way... ;) )
If it's a LOST Reunion they should bring back my favorite bad boy, please!
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 13, 2010 07:59 AM
LSK - HA... I want Keamy back too... just for you if nothing else. Plus I think Ben's eyes would explode if he saw him again...
EM - yeah... Libby died also... and, like, so did the spoiler reference persona above... so...
Reunion is not the greatest way to go guys/writers...
Posted by: fanolost | January 13, 2010 08:10 AM
lol, thanks fanolost. And wouldn't it be too funny if Ben's eyes just exploded for half a second upon seeing Keamy again.
Yeah, lets avoid that there reunion... we've seen enough dead people come back. Enough is enough sirs and madams!
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 13, 2010 08:39 AM
just watched 'dave' last night—AMAZING episode—so im really happy to hear libbys coming back, she was killed way too soon and we need her story tied up (why she was in the mental hospital). plus hurley gets his lady love! as for michael.. ive had more "WAAAAAAALLLLT" than i can possibly handle.
heck, if we're talking dead characters... BRING BACK MR EKO!!! everyone else can stay dead.

I guess I should prepare my ears for that dreadfully annoying yell from he who might come back. Yeesh. They seem to be bringing back a couple people I didn't like. Blah.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 13, 2010 01:39 PM
Just for the hell of it, they should show NIKKI and PAULO getting on the plane at the airport this season.....
Posted by: bb | January 13, 2010 02:19 PM
....and MAGGIE GRACE is ungrateful by her not returning this season.
No one knew who she was before LOST.....and within 2 years, no one will know who she is again!
Posted by: bb | January 13, 2010 02:22 PM
I'm just waiting for there to a be a very simple, logical explanation to wrap this all up, especially given the so many mind-exploding theories that have been batted around for the last seasons. I haven't been this excited about TV since, well, when the last season of LOST was starting!!!!
Posted by: AustinWendy | January 13, 2010 02:28 PM
@AustinWendy - I wouldn't hold my breath for that. I have a feeling the ending will be satisfying but not a simple, logical explanation...
Posted by: CAM | January 13, 2010 02:57 PM
Yeah, I think the ending will be true to LOST form... very satisfying, with a hint of WHAAAAAA?
And no, bb, nooooo! No Nikki and Paulo... that would just make my head blow off, lol. ;)

I'm with Izzy I would love to see Mr. Ecko come back!!! I loved his character!!!
Posted by: Becky | January 14, 2010 06:35 AM
Yeah, it would be wonderful to see Mr. Eko again. One of the most awesome characters... EVER!
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 14, 2010 08:57 AM
2nd!!!!
Posted by: Kourt | January 14, 2010 03:02 PM
Thanks Daniel for coming back to us. Keep up the great work for our entertainment and enlightenment.
Lost...the best show on the planet...bar none. The best ensemble cast of characters. Cannot wait for the unpredictable last season to begin. Start cramming !

Evangeline Lily is on Jimmy Kimmel tonight...
Posted by: sk | January 14, 2010 09:08 PM
Hey Daniel, good to see you back on the diary and looking forward to your posts !
Great to see so many familiar names still on here..it actually gives me a slight "lost shiver" to be back on this site.
Sad, but hey ! Roll on the 2nd!

Just for fun.........
What does everyone think will be the "BIG SHOCKER" in the season premiere? (Something way out there that we would not expect at all.)
Posted by: bb | January 15, 2010 10:50 AM
Well... in light of my name, I'll say Keamy is back and as bad as ever. ;) But another guess would be maybe Jack gets helped up by Christian or something like that. I don't have too many ideas, I'm in three day weekend mode.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 15, 2010 12:42 PM
According to Carlton Cuse it all will start from the point where Juliet smacks the thermonuclear device with a rock (very, very 2001 A Space Odysessy-esque)
I don't think we are going to see Oceanic 815 land in LAX. If they do, and we start all over again, they won't be able to wrap things up before end of season. I'm thinking they do go forward in time, but not to before the plane crash. For more on LOST, the season premiere and the season finale, see the link below. They ain't no spoilers in this one. The LOST crew is playing this one very close to the vest.

A Big Shocker moment for me would be if Locke's father, Anthony Cooper, comes back...gamechanger!
Posted by: sk | January 15, 2010 09:14 PM
Posted by: flashest monk | January 16, 2010 04:46 AM
@flashest monk- well put. things are going to be completely different, with lots of familiar components.
is black smoke monster/MiB gonna have a flashback episode? because that would be amazing.
Posted by: izzy | January 16, 2010 04:21 PM
Posted by: I LOVE LOST!!...how is this their last season? :( | January 16, 2010 11:28 PM
izzy- I agree, a back story on MiB would be amazing.

Posted by: sk | January 17, 2010 11:26 AM
Are the numbers 4,8,15,16,23,42, really cursed?
Jack always sat in seat number 23 on the plane.
Posted by: sk | January 17, 2010 11:57 AM
When Eloise told Desmond about the man in the red shoes, and how she tried to save his life several times, was she trying to do a course correction when she told Jack to put something of Christion's... the white tennis shoes... in Locke's casket?
Posted by: sk | January 17, 2010 12:24 PM
Totally off topic, but hey Daniel, Prince was at the Vikings game today. Sorry, couldn't help post it.
And I never knew about the Feb. 2 rescue, sk. That's an interesting similarity.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 17, 2010 12:40 PM

Flashest Monk...Thanks for that interesting lead. It made me laugh out loud.
Now I am off to the 27/7 grocery store for some half and half.

So why is Henry Ian Cusack (DESMOND) not listed as a cast "regular" this season? Any news on this????
He is the MOST popular character on the show (according to the producers).

Ahhhh, Sam Elliott. That sexy, distinctive voice makes me melt every time. A true man's man.
Posted by: sk | January 18, 2010 08:48 AM
Do you think that when Juliet smacks the bomb that it will be the equivelant of the Hail Mary Pass? Made in desperation with only a small chance of success.
My Catholic faith tells me yes.

Wait... Desmond's not cast as a regular? Maybe the Island is done with him... that could be bad. Crap.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 18, 2010 04:15 PM
Posted by: flashest monk | January 18, 2010 04:54 PM
@Flashest - love the Monty Python ref. Can't wait, only fourteen days!!

Posted by: sk | January 18, 2010 06:15 PM
I am so looking forward to sharing this last season with you all. I couldn't watch it without you. Why does it have to end?!
Posted by: Wisermom | January 18, 2010 06:37 PM
He could have been. And one time he went to Locke and basically brought him back to life after the 8-story fall... Boy, they're all just getting assessed for many things. And Jack, Kate, and Sawyer were all on his list.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 18, 2010 06:38 PM
Oh, and, man! I cannot wait for this season. I hope I get some answers from it. At least three? Or am I reaching for too much there?
Okay, I don't want to see it end! What am I gonna do on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday nights from now on?!?
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 18, 2010 06:42 PM
I have the feeling that after it is all said and done, I for one will be in need of a sabbatical or a little stay at the Santa Rosa.
Posted by: sk | January 18, 2010 06:59 PM
Yeah, I think a lot of us will be checking into Santa Rosa. We should start the support group meetings now... ;)
Hi, I'm lsk, and I'm a LOSTaholic.
;)
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 18, 2010 07:16 PM
Ha! Ha! Do you think we can get a group rate?
Posted by: sk | January 18, 2010 08:26 PM
Two Tuesdays To Go!!!!
Posted by: jaytch | January 19, 2010 05:28 AM
Group rate... maybe even some free food or coffee... I'm pretty sure we'll be a big group, lol.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 19, 2010 07:24 AM
We may also have to get us a big coach bus, and pick up people along the way to Santa Rosa. A lot of people may have issues with flying on a plane after Lost. Oh hell, why not let the Benwagoners take care of the transportation.
Posted by: sk | January 19, 2010 08:38 AM
Yeah, the Benwagon can take us all there, lol.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 19, 2010 09:27 AM
If Ben is personally driving, I'm walkin'
Posted by: flashest monk | January 19, 2010 10:35 AM
I don't think he's driving... we just have a wagon to take us there. Might be all decorated up with creepy Island bunnies and Annie dolls though... ;)
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 19, 2010 10:40 AM
This is going to be soooo much fun!!!
Posted by: Tootsie | January 19, 2010 04:39 PM
Glad I could help make you're day, Tootsie. And can't forget the collapsible baton (I didn't remember what it was, had to lostpedia it). I think that also hangs from the mirror in the van, as well as decorating it. ;)
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 19, 2010 08:50 PM
Don't forget to bring along bobblehead Ben for the dash board as our constant!!!
Posted by: sk | January 19, 2010 09:51 PM
I can't wait to see the LOST therapy Benwagon once it's all ready at the end of the season! :)
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 20, 2010 07:19 AM
Hi all,
I'm thinking that Walt, Aaron, and Sun's daughter all have more to do with the final season than we have been saying.
Posted by: fanolost | January 20, 2010 08:56 AM
I wonder if we'll ever hear more about Annie, too. They always say we will and then we see nothing...
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 20, 2010 10:16 AM
A main theme of Lost has been science vs faith. If Locke, a man of faith, is believed to have committed suicide, don't you think that serious doubts should be raised about his faith?
If MiB thinks that Locke took his own life,(after Jacob touched him when he was thrown out the window) then MiB is going to expedite his journey to the dark side.
Maybe this is the loophole that MiB found. But little does he realize that Ben was the one that took Locke's life. So maybe Ben is the good guy, and Jacob will succeed in the end.
Posted by: sk | January 20, 2010 05:48 PM
Also, remember that Locke is the first main character to die on the mainland. Do you think that there is a possibility that this could be the answer, this could be the loophole?
Posted by: sk | January 20, 2010 05:53 PM
Do you think that the cast and crew of Lost are counting down the days just like the LOSTaholics?
Posted by: sk | January 20, 2010 06:56 PM
@SK: I like your theory on Ben maybe turning out to be the "good guy".
Actually I read an interview w/ Michael Emerson & he said the same thing?
So MAYBE the actors do know more then what they are saying?
Then again, I'm not sure how I would "personally" feel for him to be turn out to be good???
I so love to love a bad boy!!! LOL!
Ben Wagon!!!!
Posted by: Tootsie | January 20, 2010 08:18 PM
they must give us annie. it is weird now to think that lil ben became obsessed with juliet because she came back in time and assisted in saving his life? annie is a missing piece of ben's puzzle
was happy to see that libby's character was coming back to give more backstory to the institution with hurley and connection to des via the boat elizabeth. and michael will be returning so that means more walt - like said previously the walt, aaron, ji yeon play a part that hasn't been shown as well ie. walt could make things happen - dead birds and show up = tele powers. aaron was said by the australian psychic he needed to be raised by her and etc and jacob told jin and sun at their wedding that their love was special and not to take for granted so it is exciting for everyone that has been involved for the whole story to have it continue to unfold. can't wait for for eloise - widmore backstory.
i still think a spinoff of hurley and miles non violent ghostsupport services. just them bantering about the time continuium is brill
Posted by: victoria | January 20, 2010 08:26 PM
and when ben told sun before he went to face the smoke monster and have a little face to face with "alex" - he told her if she saw desmond to tell him he is sorry- sorry for shooting him? we know from the hospital that pen was ok and so was charlie so >?? he promised widmore ...
Posted by: victoria | January 20, 2010 08:31 PM
@Tootsie...Ben creeps me out too, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to give him a big hug or some bandages to make him feel better.
Posted by: sk | January 20, 2010 08:44 PM
Yeah, a Friendly Ghostbusters spin-off with Miles and Hurley would be awesome! I'd tune in for that stuff.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 20, 2010 09:00 PM
Did anyone else notice in " The Life and Death of Jeremy Benthan ", that Locke goes to Santa Domingo to visit Sayid, Santa Rosa to visit Hurley, Santa Monica to see Helen's grave, and Los Angeles ( the city of angels ) to visit Kate.
Posted by: sk | January 20, 2010 09:11 PM
Miles and Hurley... Lost's version of Laurel and Hardy or Bert and Ernie. " Your just jealous my powers are better than your powers." Gotta love it! Great comic relief !!!
Posted by: sk | January 20, 2010 09:23 PM
@sk NICE CATCH on the cities Locke went to visit
Those LOST writers are always on top of their game!
Posted by: bb | January 21, 2010 07:39 AM
On a sidenote...Does that first photo of Tiger Woods at the treatment centre remind anyone else of the famous film footage of Big Foot. That's the first thing that popped into my head. LoL!!!
Posted by: sk | January 21, 2010 08:27 AM
I never noticed that bit on the different cities... that's a really good point sk. Saints and angels... or something like that.
I've been doing the "Best of" episode watch with my friends, we somehow went from a top five to a top fourteen... not quite sure how. ;) And I keep noticing how much of a good guy Locke was pre-death. And how much of a jerk the fake Locke really is. Not that it's anything really significant this time.
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 21, 2010 10:16 AM
lovesteamykeamy– whats the list of your top 14? im doing a rewatch now and id love to know.
i also think itd be a great idea for post for daniel to do, his top ten lost episodes.. maybe when this last season wraps up.
some of my favorites: dave, flashes before your eyes, walkabout, white rabbit, the other 48 days, the pilot (of course!), the 23rd psalm, the man from tallahassee, the man behind the curtain, the constant.. so hard choose!
but i know that stranger in a strange land — the one with jack, bai ling, and the tattoo.. is the absolute WORST
Posted by: izzy | January 21, 2010 12:47 PM
@ izzy -- The Jack / Bai Ling episode was the VERY WORST one Totally agree with you! There was no point to it at all.
Posted by: bb | January 21, 2010 01:55 PM
@izzy- the ones my friends and I put on the list are The Pilot (both parts), Walkabout, White Rabbit, Dave, Further Instructions, The Constant, Cabin Fever, There's No Place Like Home (Parts 1, 2, & 3), Jughead, 316, LeFleur, Dead is Dead, Some Like it Hoth, and The Incident (Parts 1 & 2).
When it's a multiple part episode, we watch all the parts same night, so it's 14. And just for kicks we decided to throw in Ji Yeon to make it 15 episodes and go with the numbers. ;)
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 21, 2010 06:27 PM

Flashest Monk... Do you have a top, or favorite, or must sees episodes of Lost?
Posted by: sk | January 21, 2010 08:22 PM
Oh, early morning post, simply because it came to me while watching Cabin Fever last night. The part with John's dream, he sees Horace... could that be a manifestation of the monster/MiB?
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 22, 2010 03:28 AM
Definitely a turning point when Locke starts to see dead people...Horace, then Christian in the cabin. Has MiB found his stooge, found someone that he can control.
Posted by: sk | January 22, 2010 06:37 AM
Locke has always stated " Don't tell me what I can't do", and MiB just might be the one pulling Locke's strings now.

Not really an important issue, but it has been bugging me....
Why did JACK shave his chest when he returned to California?
Posted by: bb | January 22, 2010 07:02 AM

Posted by: sk | January 24, 2010 08:22 AM
An interesting note...Ex- owners of Vincent were Brian and Susan, Michael and Walt, Shannon, and now Rose and Bernard.
Vincent sure makes the rounds...he been everywhere man, just like Stompin' Tom Connors.

Is anyone else out there getting Lost promos on tv with Willie Nelson singing "Amazing Grace" ?
Posted by: sk | January 25, 2010 02:25 AM
sk... getting the Willie Nelson promos here too
Posted by: becksmom | January 25, 2010 10:17 AM
I don't think I've seen a promo with "Amazing Grace" in the background... but that could just be because I fall asleep in front of the tv all the time at night. So tired all the time now. Hopefully whatever it is that's making me tired wears off by next Tuesday!

Soooooooo, am I still the only one on the Christian-wagon?
Side note - is Flashest around? Wanted to see if he was familiar with Albert Camus, or anyone else for that matter...
Posted by: ssarah badara | January 26, 2010 02:28 PM
By anyone else, I mean are any other posters familiar with him, not if Flashest was familiar with anyone at all. lol. Sorry, it's the excitement building up!!!!

Just watched The Incident, with captions. I am definitely going to keep an eye on Vincent. Did you know that yellow labrador retrievers love to swim, are friendly and great with young children, and need to feel as though they are part of the family.
Do you think that when Jacob touched Ilana in the hospital, and Locke, when he fell from the window, that they were both left for dead, and he brought them back to life? Maybe positioning his next move.
Posted by: sk | January 26, 2010 11:21 PM
It almost looked like Jacob was sitting on the bench, reading, and waiting for Locke to be thrown out of the window, and hit the ground. He was by his side pronto, don't you think ?
Posted by: sk | January 27, 2010 05:43 AM
sk - I missed most of The Incident last night, so I missed the blurb about Vincent, but I'd say that was true of all (good) Labrador Retrievers.
Posted by: ssarah badara | January 27, 2010 12:17 PM
ssarah badara...Do you think that Jacob's touching Locke first could have neutralize MiB's evil control over Locke? Maybe that is why Locke could not do the deed himself, and Locke manipulated Ben to take down Jacob.
Plus, it is great payback courtesy of Locke. I think a lynch mob may await our Ben. Yikes !!!
Posted by: sk | January 27, 2010 06:43 PM
Did that make sense above? MiB is impersonating Locke, and not really possessing him because of the magic touch he recieved from Jacob. Jacob's presense is in there somewhere.
Why is there no decomposition of Locke's body ? Or have I been watching too many CSI reruns. He sure has a good looking corpse. When Jack asked Ben at the funeral home if Locke was actually dead inside the coffin, Ben did not answer. Ben definitely knows more than he is letting on.
Posted by: sk | January 28, 2010 07:11 AM
If I don't understand it, it is a mystery, beyond imagination. That's why I love Lost. Reality blurred with fantasy.
Posted by: sk | January 28, 2010 07:29 AM
@sk... about the touching Ilana and Locke. With Ilana, I'm not too sure, but with Locke, I thought he had died from the fall and he was bringing him back to life. Not sure. Although it did definitely look like Jacob was just sitting there, waiting for the fall to happen. He seemed to get up with a calmness that most others wouldn't.
I can't wait to find all this stuff out in a few days!
Posted by: lovesteamykeamy | January 28, 2010 08:56 AM
The day has come fellow diary lovers! Can't wait!!! Hope Daniel gets up early tomorrow!
